Eliminating or editing recurring bill payments can sometimes suddenly become an important thing for your financial to-do list. If you need to save money and an annoying bill keeps cropping up regularly to hack away a portion of them, deleting it is probably a good idea if it's not for something necessary.

Fortunately, Ally Bank, like most modern banks, offers easy and quick digital banking options for deleting an existing bill payee easily. We will cover the steps you need to take to do exactly this.

Register for Online Banking with Ally Bank

Before being able to set up or delete an existing bill payee for your Ally Bank account, you'll first need to make sure you're registered with the bank's online and mobile banking platforms.

To do this, you'll be given an option for creating a username and password combo when you open your Ally Bank account. You can also contact Ally Bank directly by phone to speak to one of their customer service representatives if you don't remember having registered for online banking or don't remember your login details.

How to Delete a Recurring Payment With Ally Bank

If you have online banking set up and have the Ally Bank mobile app downloaded and active on your phone, you can manage and delete existing bill payees through either your online banking or mobile app account. Here are the straightforward steps involved:

1. Ally Bank offers its customers an option to pay all of their bills as eBills, which are purely digital and mean you no longer need to work for mailed paper billing information. Deleting an existing payee also means canceling their eBills.

2. Log into your Ally Bank online or mobile banking platform account and make sure your bill payee is listed among your other scheduled payments. You can do this by logging in via mobile or online banking and then navigating to "Activity" or "Scheduled Payments."

3. Once you've opened either of these options in your Ally Bank online or mobile banking account, find the payee account you want to cancel and open it.

4. Under the options for the payee you've selected, you can tap or click on "Recurring Payments" and delete the payee for all future billing.

If you have any other doubts about canceling a bill payee with Ally Bank or any other aspect of your account, you can also contact Ally Bank 24 hours a day, seven days per week. This will let you speak directly with a helpful customer service representative.
