How Do I Report a Comcast Service Outage?

If you have an issue with your Comcast services, there may be a Comcast service outage in your area. Fortunately, you can contact Comcast and report the outage. They will help you fix the problem.

Reporting a Comcast Service Issue

  1. You can report a service outage whenever there is one. Open the Xfinity Status Center. If at least two of your services are offline, there will be a banner to alert you about it
  2. Click on the ‘Check for Issues' button
  3. Comcast will help you check for outages in your area. If you want to receive updates, you have to enter your mobile number
  4. Click ‘Submit' and wait for a confirmation message
  5. Click back to the ‘ Status Center' and you will see a banner notifying you that Comcast is looking into your issue
  6. They will send you a link if there is an outage. The link will let you know how long the outage is expected to last
  7. You will receive another text notification when your service is restored
  8. If you wish, you can use the link on the text to chat using the Xfinity Assistant tool
  9. If there are no service outages in your area, schedule a callback. The customer support representatives will help you find troubleshooting tips.

Checking for Comcast Service Outages

If you suspect that you may have a service outage in your area, there are a few ways to check for it.

On My Account

  1. Sign in to My Account
  2. Click on the ‘Services' tab
  3. Click on the link ‘Status Center'
  4. There will be a custom banner letting you know if there is a service outage. If there is an outage, it lets you know the potential outage type and the approximate time for the outage to be fixed
  5. If the outage only affects one service, you will see a red status. The status means that Comcast is already aware of the service outage in your area. They will fix it as soon as possible.
  • Green status indicates that no one has reported service outages in your area. There may or may not be an outage. If there is no outage, the support representatives may give you troubleshooting tips.
  1. You are unable to troubleshoot, you may need to report the concern to the Xfinity Status Center.

Using the Comcast Outage Map

The Comcast Outage map is a convenient and effective way to check for outages. Follow these steps to view the map in My Account.

  1. Sign in to ‘My Account'
  2. Navigate to the top of the page and click on the ‘Services' tab
  3. Tap on the ‘Status Center' link
  4. Click on the ‘Outage Map' option
  5. The map will show the status of your service outage and outages in the surrounding areas.
