How Do I Downgrade My Verizon Wireless Package?

Verizon Wireless is a fully owned subsidiary of Verizon providing mobile services to over 100 million subscribers. You can get deals on tablets and smartphones in addition to text, call and data bundles from Verizon Wireless.

If you have a Verizon Wireless package, you can change your entire package or aspects of your package when you want. Changing aspects of your plan include changing the voice, text or data allowance for your current plan.

You can make the above changes using the Verizon website or the My Verizon app. The following are some of the changes you can make to your Verizon Wireless package.

Changing Your Verizon Wireless Plan

Through My Verizon Website:

  1. Launch your web browser and open the Verizon website
  2. Go to the ‘Change Your Plan' page in your web browser
  3. Click ‘Explore Plans'
  4. Click ‘Explore Unlimited'
  5. Click ‘Continue'
  6. Select ‘Pick a Plan' and choose the plan to which you want to change
  7. Click ‘Pick this plan'
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for any other device on your Verizon account
  9. After you have selected a plan for each of your device, click ‘Continue'
  10. Hover the pointer over the ‘This Cycle' dropdown menu at the apex of the page and select a date when you would like the change to be made
  11. Scrutinize your plan changes and when satisfied, click ‘Confirm.'

You can choose to activate your new plan on the next billing cycle. It will be activated on the beginning date of your billing cycle if you do so.

Through My Verizon App:

  1. Open the My Verizon application
  2. Click the Menu icon on the top left side of the screen

  11. You have the option to apply the plan change to a single line or all your lines at this stage. Choose ‘Apply to all' or ‘Apply to this line' depending on your preferences. If you want to choose different plans for different lines, you will have to repeat steps 9 and 10 for all lines.

You can also choose to apply the changes to ‘This Cycle' and the new plan will be backdated to the beginning of the current billing cycle and also, your bill. If you choose ‘Next Cycle' your plan changes will be applied as from the beginning of the next billing cycle. The options presented will depend on your account type and the type of changes you are making.
