How to Send a Wire Transfer Online

To send a wire transfer using your laptop or desktop, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Bank of America's Online Banking site.
  2. Sign in.
  3. Expand the Transfer | Zelle menu by hovering over that tab in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  4. Click on Transfer.
  5. Click on "To/from other banks (includes wires)."
  6. Agree to the terms of the Service Agreement if the Service Agreement screen appears.
  7. Select an account to transfer money out of.
  8. Select a recipient. If you have not already linked the recipient's account to your own, click the Add Account/Recipient link and follow the prompts.
  9. Enter the amount to transfer.
  10. Enter the transfer date.
  11. Click on the Wire Transfer radio button.
  12. Select the One Time, Immediately option from the frequency menu.
  13. Click on the Continue Transfer button.
  14. Review the transfer information.
  15. Click on the Make Transfer button.

How to Send a Wire Transfer in Person

You can also send a wire transfer by going to a Bank of America location in person and getting the help of someone there. You will need account and routing numbers for both you and your recipient, as well as contact information for both of you.
