Ally Bank is one of the most popular online banks in the U.S. with a plethora of financial products available. Of course, the most basic and down to earth option is the checking or savings account. But what if you don't know the routing and account numbers? No worries, this guide will show you a few ways to look up this important information.

Routing Number

Since Ally is an online bank without any branches, it has the same routing number regardless of where you live and this makes this information much more public. In fact, you can find this by doing a simple search using your favorite search engine or the search field on ally.com. You can also locate the routing number on a check. It would be the first set of numbers and be nine digits long. For the record, Ally's routing number is 124003116. You can also obtain the routing number by calling Ally Bank Customer Service. Please note that you cannot use a deposit slip to obtain the routing number. It's a different number that starts with the number five and is strictly used internally by the bank.

Checking or Savings Account Numbers

You can find your checking account number the quickest if you have checks available. It would be the middle set of numbers, wedged in between the routing number and the check number itself on the bottom of the check. And yes, check numbers are typically printed on the lower right-hand corner as well as the upper right-hand corner.

If you don't have checks or you have a savings account you're wanting the account number for, then you can look this up at Ally.com

  1. Log into your account and select the account you'd like to access.
  2. Next to Account Number, you should see the word Show, clicking on this will reveal your account number.
  3. Clicking on Hide will mask all but the last four digits of your account number.

You could also find this information on a deposit slip, as the same account numbers are used internally as well as externally.
