What are the hours and when should I call?

Vanilla Visa Card operates the call center for this 855-686-9513 phone number 24 hours, 7 days. The short answer is that you should call on a Monday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 1,502 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).

Automatically call when they open

When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the Vanilla Visa Card call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Vanilla Visa Card phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Vanilla Visa Card staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call Vanilla Visa Card is Sunday. The most busy day to call is Thursday, which averages 61% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 1,502 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

Calling this Vanilla Visa Card Customer Number

I am looking at pre-paid card options for my pre-teen so that she can carry a bank card and get used to spending, but I can control the spending. While searching for companies that offer this type of convenience, I came across Vanilla Visa. Since I don't know a lot about how the process works, I figured I would just call to talk to a customer agent about what type of fees are associated with this type of service. I figured I might learn some other things that would be helpful to know before purchasing it.

My goal is to find a pre-paid card that has minimal fees attached to it since I will need to reload money on nearly a weekly basis. I don't want to place a lot on it because that won't help my child learn to work within a budget. I imagine that fees are a major reason why people end up calling Vanilla Visa, but other reasons might be due to problems with their cards, help registering, or reporting a card lost or stolen. I don't really know the scope of the business, so they might receive a lot of daily phone calls; I just hoped I wouldn't be on hold for too long.

It turned out not to be too bad, I just had to sit through the phone directory for a few minutes. When I first called, the virtual assistant greeted me and immediately gave me a list of options stating, "Thank you for calling My Vanilla. For English please press 1. To use the automated phone system to access your account or to activate a personalized card you received in the mail, press 1. If you need help registering or enrolling, press 2. If you have forgotten your card number and need to report it as lost or stolen, press 3. If you would like to listen to the fees associated with a My Vanilla pre-paid card, press 4."

I chose 2 since I needed to ask questions about registration and enrollment and then it gave me a long-winded response about how I could go online to enroll and have a lot of my questions answered. This was somewhat of a waste of time because I wasn't calling due to technical difficulties, my goal was to talk to an actual person. Once the lecture ended, it gave me two options, "To repeat the important tips that you just heard, press 1. If you still need help and want to wait on hold to talk to a customer service representative, press 2. If you want to enter your card number to use the automated phone system, press 3."

I pressed two again and it told me to either enter my card number or stay on the line. I stayed on the line and it only took about 30 seconds for the hold music to start, but then instantly someone with a thick accent picked up. I was happy about the short wait, and although it took a bit of repeating to understand what the agent was saying, they did answer my questions.
