This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 1,794 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this GE Appliances phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like GE Appliances staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call GE Appliances is Tuesday. The most busy day to call is Monday. Again, this is based on a sample of 1,794 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

The shortest wait on hold

We measured the shortest hold times to be on Friday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Tuesday.

The best time to call

In summation, the best day to call GE Appliances is Tuesday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that GE Appliances staffs the call center well on Tuesday.

Calling this GE Appliances Customer Number

Calling GE Appliances' number is a long stretch in getting several efforts to get you to move over and try the website instead of the phone to solve your issue. The first time I called this number, I was told that I could cut down on my wait time and on the length of my call by using the GE website and requesting services there.

I agreed and asked for a text message. The system sent me an automatic text message with a link to the online chat so I could get genuine help from the site, and I confirmed that the link in the message went to GE's online support. It did, and the system automatically hung up the phone when it had sent my message.

There's no way to contact anyone or have the system connect with you in any other way. If you happen to call after hours and don't have a way to contact GE Appliances, you won't be able to get assistance.

I found that out when I tried to call back to see if the system would connect me with someone if I declined the text message invite. This time, the system asked me to choose the department I wanted, and I selected service and repairs. The system took me to another menu, where I could decide what kind of repairs were needed.

Specifically, I was asked if I was getting a GE-brand microwave repaired. When I said that I wasn't, the system asked me to provide the name and make of the appliance in question and what was wrong with it. I said that I needed to repair a refrigerator, and the system was quick to remind me again that I could cut down on wait times if I opted to get assistance from their website instead of trying to do so over the phone.

After a couple of minutes, the system said that there were no representatives available to address my concerns, and I would have to either go online to get assistance or call back again when they were more likely to have someone available. At that point, the system automatically hung up.

Overall, I think shifting all of your traffic to the website is a reasonable decision, but GE Appliances seemed to hammer down the point. The system starts asking customers if they want to get help through the website from the beginning, and it never really lets up whenever it spots what could be an opportunity.

Conversely, if you call at the wrong time of day and want to talk to someone, you're kind of out of luck. You might get lucky and get someone on the phone, but more often than not, you're either going to end up hung up on or expressing the problem back and forth through e-mails.

Based off this experience, I would not be inclined to use this phone number to solve any issues I had with GE Appliances.
