It's a great convenience when you can rely on your bank to make payments for you and forget about it. In most cases, that's fine, but sometimes the unexpected happens, and you need to change things up.

If there's a problem with your auto-payment with TD Bank, you can stop the payment. Here are the steps to cancel an auto payment with TD Bank.

1. Log In to Your TD Bank Account

To log in to your online account, go to TD Bank and click the login button. The login screen will appear, prompting you for your username and password.

2. Click the Profile Tab

Click the Services tab and select Manage Your Accounts to bring up a list of accounts. Once you select which account to manage, click View Account Summary to bring up a list of transactions and balances.

If you can't find the transaction you are looking for, use the search bar to search by date or description. Choose it and choose View Account Details.

3. Choose the Payment Schedules Option

When you log into your TD Bank account, you will see a drop-down menu that says My Account, Account Services and Settings. Click the word Settings.

You will find a tab for Auto Payments. This is where you can cancel any payments scheduled for deduction from your account in the future.

4. Select the Edit the Payment Schedule

Next, click Cancel Payment. It will automatically cancel it if you have anything scheduled after this date.

You can also check off any recurring payments that you want to cancel to have them stopped immediately after this date. When you set up everything as you want it, click Submit Changes.

TD Bank won't charge you any more money by TD Bank if you don't schedule any more payments with them.

5. Review and Confirmation Email

Ensure you review all information on the next screen before clicking Finish. After you select to cancel automatic payments on an account, TD Bank will send you a confirmation email with instructions to ensure it debits no more payments from your bank account.
