Roku is a Smart TV operating system brand known for streaming and audio products. The company devices work by streaming media from the internet to your TV. To get the most experience with Roku, you must register a Roku account for device activation and entertainment access. You will also need to pay for subscriptions to apps like Netflix, Apple TV, and Prime Video. If you’re currently using Roku TV, here’s how to manage or cancel your subscription.
If Roku charges your credit card, you’re mostly subscribed to a channel or any other Roku subscription. To begin, open the Roku home section on your smart TV.
While in the home section, use your controller to scroll to the right until the selector begins to highlight channels. While on the channels, you have to find the channel that currently has the subscription.
After accessing the channels section, scroll through the channels to find the one that you most likely subscribed to. Once the selector highlights a particular channel, press the asterisk button on your controller to avail the menu options for the channel.
You need to access the “Manage Subscription” option from the menu items. If the channel you’ve selected doesn’t have this option, it doesn’t have an active subscription. Once you find a channel with an active subscription, select the “Manage Subscription” option with your controller.
Once you click “Manage Subscription,” the platform notifies you about your subscription’s next renewal, and gives you an option to cancel it. Click “Cancel Subscription.”
After canceling your subscription, the platform gives you access to the channel for a certain period. Confirm that you’d like to proceed with the cancellation by clicking “Yes, Cancel Subscription.” The next popup notifies you that you’ve canceled your subscription to the channel and highlights the expiry date of your current subscription. You’ll also receive an email confirming the cancellation.
If you have a technical issue with your device and you'd like technical support, you can reach the Roku support team. Open the Roku website and navigate to the bottom. Click “Contact Us.”
Cancelling your Roku subscription is straightforward and can be done from the comfort of your home. Turn on your device and follow the steps in our guide. For further assistance, contact the support team.
GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Roku in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our How do I manage or cancel my Roku subscription? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible.
