I have successfully set up and connected the thermostat, but I am unable to register the device with the 4-digit code. This issue is preventing me from accessing the device via my smartphone, which is the primary reason for my purchase. I have attempted to contact customer support twice, waiting for over an hour each time, but I have been unable to speak with a representative. The troubleshooting steps provided on the website have also not resolved the problem. I am considering returning the device to the store and purchasing an alternative product that functions properly.

I have been dealing with multiple rare autoimmune diseases, becoming legally blind due to medical negligence. Dear Ecobee Customer Support, I am experiencing an issue with my Ecobee 4 thermostat's Y1 output, leading to the heat pump's compressor running continuously. After testing with different HVAC systems and Ecobee thermostats, I believe the problem lies with my current unit. The Ecobee seems to be holding a diode across its Rc and Y1 terminals constantly, even while booting up.
