The commercial by Youth Advocate Program is concerning. It features two adult Black men instead of youths, one admitting to crimes but claiming not to be a criminal. Both men appear unkempt, wearing tattered clothing, sitting on what looks like a rundown street. It may not effectively convey the message and might actually deter people. The frequency of airing, every 20 minutes, raises questions about the use of taxpayer money. Perhaps funding could be utilized more effectively, especially towards helping young people. The portrayal of a 30-year-old Black man promoting a youth program might not attract many donors in this manner. There seems to be a deeper issue with the advertisement's approach.

We are currently residing in Jackson County, where the planning commission is attempting to force us to relocate due to our differences. In response to being targeted with derogatory remarks and harassment, I put up signs encouraging people to stop their cowardly behavior. Despite complying with requests to clean up our property, we faced further challenges, including accusations of violating building codes. When inquiring about repurposing our building, we were denied the option to stay. Attempting to appeal the decision was met with rejection. Previous encounters with law enforcement, such as Sheriff Mike Byrd, resulted in unjust arrests based on my sexual orientation. These traumatic experiences have led to ongoing struggles with PTSD, manifesting in nightmares and defensive reactions. Overcoming self-hatred and refusing to be intimidated, I am dedicated to effecting positive change in our community, even amidst adversity. There has been a recent news story about males competing against females in athletic events, which I find ridiculous. One individual who previously did not excel in male races is now identifying as a transgender female to compete against women. Physical gender should be the deciding factor in athletics. My wife and I, aged 77 and 82, have had LGBTQ friends and are not homophobic. I once had close friendships with LGBTQ colleagues. In my opinion, there should be separate categories in sports for Males, Females, and Transgender athletes. Having different body types compete directly is nonsensical. Recently, I've heard discussions on CNN about WNBA players needing to play overseas during the offseason to support themselves financially. Back then, salaries were low, and we often received late payments, but we played for the opportunity. I am puzzled as to why CNN would feature Lume deodorant commercials during prime time TV. As a woman, I find these ads degrading to women of all ages. I urge CNN to check the online reviews for these products. I always believed CNN was progressive and sensitive to women's issues, but these commercials by Sharon Klingman are inappropriate. They are becoming more offensive and distasteful, showing intimate parts of women's bodies and discussing odor meters.
