Ally Invest provides its clients with different ways to make deposits. You can choose from bank transfers, credit/debit cards and ACH transfers. Here's how to transfer funds to your Ally Invest account using the following methods.

Setting Up Your Electronic Check

To fund your Ally Invest account via electronic check, you must first set up a bank account with a financial institution that issues checks. Once you have established a link between your checking account and Ally Invest, follow these three steps:

  1. Log in to your Ally Invest account and click on the Deposit button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Enter the amount you would like to deposit into your new brokerage account.
  3. Click on Electronic Check from there.

Setting Up the Wire Transfer

You can use wire transfers to fund your Ally Invest account. You can use any bank you have an account with and fund your Ally Invest account. To start a wire transfer:

  1. Log into your Ally Invest brokerage firm account.
  2. Select Commissions and Fees. Select Wire Transfers.
  3. Enter the amount of money you want to send.
  4. Enter the name and address where you would like the funds sent.
  5. Type in your Ally Invests brokerage firm's account number and routing number found on checks or savings accounts. You will need these two numbers to finish this task, so ensure they are readily available before starting.

Making an ACH Transfer

To make an ACH transfer to Ally Invest, you'll need to set up a bank account with Ally Invest. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click on Transfer Money in your Ally Invest account dashboard.
  2. Choose ACH Transfer.
  3. Select Make a Transfer From My Bank.
  4. Enter your bank's routing number and account number for the transfer.
  5. Set up an ACH transfer by entering your name, email address and phone number (if applicable).

You can opt to receive a notification when your funds arrive or if there is a problem with the transfer.

Regular Check

You can transfer funds from your bank account to Ally Invest using a regular check. Go to Ally Invest's website to send a check. Once you sign in, click on Transfer Funds under account access. On the next page, click on Send Checks under send money.

You can provide your bank account information and the amount of money you wish to send. Print your check and mail it off after that.
