How do I get through the phone menu to a live person?
Consider using our free service that calls and talks to customer service for you, then sends you a report. Or use our free service that waits on hold and tells you when a human rep is on the line. But if those options don't appeal to you, our team has also documented the phone menu for TripAdvisor below.
Our AI powered phone can dial, navigate the phone menu, wait on hold, and even talk to customer service for you, for free. You don't even need to learn about the path through the various phone options.
That same, free GetHuman Phone can call and navigate the menus and wait on hold for you, but you can opt to do all the talking. We notify you when a rep is on the line and ready to talk, so no need to worry about changing menu options and weaving your way through the maze.
Of course, we completely understand if you prefer to do all the dialing, waiting, and talking yourself. All of these free tools are optional.

What are the hours and when should I call?
TripAdvisor operates the call center for this 866-322-5942 phone number Monday - Friday 9:30am - 5:00pm ET.The short answer is that you should call on a Wednesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 373 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the TripAdvisor call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this TripAdvisor phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like TripAdvisor staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.
The least busy time to call
The least busy day to call TripAdvisor is Wednesday. The most busy day to call is Tuesday, which averages 60% more phone calls by comparison.Again, this is based on a sample of 373 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

The shortest wait on hold
We measured the shortest hold times to be on Friday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Tuesday.
In summation, the best day to call TripAdvisor is Wednesday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that TripAdvisor staffs the call center well on Wednesday.
Calling TripAdvisor can be productive if you're looking for information about an activity or if you'd like to book one. However, it does seem like representatives are a bit inconsistent with customer service.
When I dialed the number, I was asked to select the reason I was calling TripAdvisor, which included things such as reserving a hotel, leaving a review or checking your account. I opted for reserving something, and was taken to the next menu. This one featured choices such as reserving a restaurant, reserving a hotel and reserving an activity.
I opted for reserving an activity, and the system said that it would record all calls. It then asked me whether I had an existing reservation or was calling to book a new one, and I said I wanted to book a new one.
The system took me to a representative, who asked me for the purpose of my call. I said that I was looking at the USS Arizona Memorial tour at Pearl Harbor and was wondering what was different about the tour compared to simply going to the memorial on our own. I explained that I wasn't sure about it and wanted to know what I was getting from the tour for the listed cost.
After two attempts to find the tour I had suggested, the representative found the tour and told me that it would include a bus tour of other sites, a boat ride to the memorial and transportation to and from Pearl Harbor from my hotel in Waikiki. I asked if that meant we wouldn't have to worry about driving to Pearl Harbor, and he confirmed that we would simply have to get the shuttle from our hotel to Pearl Harbor.
He then asked me for my hotel name, and I said I currently wasn't staying in a hotel, as I had relocated to an AirBNB on the island. He said that wasn't a problem and that I could still use the shuttle if I wanted, as I could give him the name of the hotel I'd be nearest to and ride the shuttle from there. I told him I did not know what hotel was closest, and he said he said that was fine; I could simply call back another time to reserve tickets.
Before I was able to thank him and say goodbye, the representative told me that I could get a discount on the tour by booking through TripAdvisor, as I could save 5% by using them over other tour options. I attempted to end the call and thank him, but he got to it first and immediately hung up once he'd confirmed I had no more questions.
Overall, I thought this was a good call, but a little too quick to get me off the phone at the end. Once it was clear I wasn't going to be booking that day, I felt a little rushed. I'd use this number if I was ready to buy, but not if I was still in the planning stages.

Why Customers Call TripAdvisor
If you have time to do a bit of reading before you call TripAdvisor, we recommend you read over some of our problem-specific articles.
Researching and booking your dream tip is one of life's greatest thrills, but life can happen in other ways too. This means that you'll have to change your trip — or cancel it entirely. Tripadvisor understands this and allows you to cancel your trip within 24 hours, but make sure to review your cancellation policy first before making any changes.
As the world emerged from a coronavirus pandemic, travelers booked more vacations to experience more of the world missed during the global quarantine. It's important to know the cancellation policies ahead of time but many properties don't have a uniform policy, so you must look in your reservation confirmation email or the booking history in your dashboard.
Start by going to their booking page and either create an account or log in using one of your social media accounts. Search for your destinations, dates and accommodation. Check availability and book your trip. Finally, to contact their customer service staff in case of emergencies, be sure to look at their website for additional information.

Information about why customers call TripAdvisor is extracted from issues that customers have reported to GetHuman.
As a last, sometimes only, resort- TripAdvisor customer service can be accessed through their website. This can entail digging through help articles before finding a form and "being allowed" to submit a problem to their team, and rarely leads to a real-time conversation, which is why GetHuman does not recommend this unless it's the only way.
