What are the hours and when should I call?

MagicJack operates the call center for this 844-866-2442 phone number Mon-Fri 9am-7pm ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Friday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 4,498 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this MagicJack phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like MagicJack staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call MagicJack is Friday. The most busy day to call is Tuesday. Again, this is based on a sample of 4,498 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

The shortest wait on hold

We measured the shortest hold times to be on Tuesday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Monday.

The best time to call

In summation, the best day to call MagicJack is Friday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that MagicJack staffs the call center well on Friday.

I have been looking for alternative internet providers, so when I saw an advertisement for MagicJack, I thought that I should check it out. It can be hard to sort through internet offers, so I prefer to go straight to the source. Therefore, I thought I would just call the company to talk to a representative about what they could do for me. This seemed like the best way to find out about available promotions and whether my home would qualify to use their service. I didn't know what variables they use to decide who they service.

They probably get a fair amount of phone calls from people who are also scoping out their services and from people who are already subscribers who have issues. Internet quality, speeds, billing issues and general technical support are all probable reasons people routinely call. This means that the process could be long to get to a representative, and it wasn't super short, but it wasn't too long. It took me about 15 minutes total to actually chat with a representative, but I have waited long to speak to AT&T and Spectrum, which are major providers, so really, that wasn't bad.

When I first called, a voice assistant answered the phone and said, "Thank you for calling MagicJack. If you are already a member and already have an account, press 1. If you are not yet a member, press 2." I pressed 2 since I don't have an account and just need to talk to someone, and then I had to listen to a long speech before it put me into the line. This was a bit annoying because I just told them I wasn't a member and still had to listen to a long message about everything I would need while talking to the customer service agent. It seemed that they could have skipped over this and just put me in line since they go through the trouble of asking that question.

After listening to a lot of talking, I finally got on hold to talk to a customer service agent. The hold music was some take on"Free Bird," which honestly wasn't the worst to listen to, all things considered. It took me about 12 minutes to talk to someone. It's worth noting that they did offer a callback service after saying it would be about an 11-minute wait, but I opted not to use it. Usually, I would, but I was sitting at my desk and just put my phone on speaker. When I did get to the agent, they spoke clearly and were able to go over my options, so overall, the experience was okay.
