In fact, much of this information on this page is superfluous because this HP phone number is a direct line to a human being. The line is well-staffed and you should anticipate a very short wait on hold or none whatsoever, as long as you are calling during business hours.
We don't know of any phone menus you would encounter when calling either.

What are the hours and when should I call?

HP operates the call center for this 888-999-4747 phone number Mon-Sun 9am-12am ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Wednesday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 12,632 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this HP phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like HP staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call HP is Wednesday. The most busy day to call is Tuesday. Again, this is based on a sample of 12,632 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

The shortest wait on hold

We measured the shortest hold times to be on Wednesday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Monday.

The best time to call

In summation, the best day to call HP is Wednesday. In this case, it's a no-brainer. Wednesday is not only the least busy day for calling this HP number, but it is also the day with the shortest hold times.
Once again, please put this information in perspective because this phone number has no phone menu or long waits. It generally gets picked up right away if calling during their opening hours. If there is any way, it will typically be very short.

Calling this HP Customer Number

I'm thinking about buying a new laptop from HP, and have some questions that I would like to get answered before making the purchase. While I'm technically buying the laptop for personal use, I also freelance from time to time and there are certain specs it needs to meet to be up to my standards. With that in mind, I called HP hoping that I would be able to talk to someone who could answer my questions definitively.

HP is a large laptop manufacturer, but they aren't one of the leading manufacturers anymore so I was hoping to get ahold of someone without too much of a wait. The company's price range as a mid-range laptop producer fits my budget and may allow me to buy slightly more RAM than I could afford otherwise. I waited about 4.5 minutes to talk to someone, so it worked out well. However, they need to update their hold messages as I will touch on in a second.

When I first called, I was greeted by an automated assistant who said, "Thanks for calling the HP Store. Your call may be monitored or recorded for quality services. Hello, I’m Holly an automated system you can speak to in short sentences. You can say things like, I want to buy a laptop, or I need tech support." I replied that I would like to buy a laptop, and then waited for a minute for her to respond. There was a delay in the response, but then the virtual assistant said, "To get you to the correct team, I need to gather a few details. Are you calling for business or personal use today?"

I had to think for a second on this one because really I plan to use it for a mixture of things, but ultimately I chose personal. Then the assistant said, "Okay,  I can help you get your order placed. Let me transfer you to an agent for further assistance." I was only on hold for 4 minutes, which was nice, but they needed to update their hold messages for sure.

A recorded message told me that their items would make good holiday stuffings and that the delay in talking to a representative was due to the busy holiday season. Besides that, the poppy elevator music wasn't bad. The representative who picked up had a slight accent and almost sounded robotic, but was able to answer my questions so I got what I needed out of the call.
