YouTube lets users add custom channel art that makes their page stand out. Changing your art is easy, but the process depends on what device you're using. Keep reading to learn more.

Changing YouTube Channel Art on Desktop

Channel art includes three categories: profile picture, banner image and watermark. You can edit your profile picture and banner image on desktop and mobile, but watermark changes have to be completed via desktop.

  • To change your art on a desktop, log into your YouTube account from the YouTube homepage. Next, look for your profile picture at the top right corner of the screen (your picture might just be the first letter of your account name).
  • Click on your profile picture to open your menu and select YouTube Studio.
  • The YouTube Studio dashboard has a scrollable menu on the left-hand side. Scroll down and click on Customization, then click Branding.
  • The Branding page manages all three categories of your channel art. Choose which element to update, then click Change to upload a new image.
  • After uploading, click Done, then click Publish to finalize the change.

YouTube has image size requirements for each artwork element. Banners are the biggest, measuring at least 2048 x 1152 pixels. Profile pictures can be smaller, at 98 x 98 or bigger. Watermarks are recommended to be no bigger than 150 x 150. YouTube will notify you if any of your artwork is the wrong size. You can contact YouTube if you have questions about channel art requirements.

Changing YouTube Channel Art on Android

You can change your channel art on an Android device if you download the YouTube app.

To get started, open the app and tap on your profile picture at the top right corner. Next, tap Your Channel, then Edit Channel.

YouTube displays edit icons by each artwork category. To make a change, tap on the artwork and select a new image to upload.

You can also edit your channel art through the YouTube Studio app. Open the app and tap on your profile picture. Tap Your Channel, then Edit Channel. Look for the edit icon next to each artwork category then upload your new artwork and tap Save.

Changing YouTube Channel Art on iOS

YouTube offers apps for iOS. The apps may look slightly different than on Android devices, but the editing process is the same. Tap on your profile picture, then choose Your Channel. Tap on Edit Channel and pick the artwork to change, then tap Save.

Remember that watermarks can only be changed via desktop.
