How Do I Sign Up for New Service from T-Mobile?

If you are switching from another company, or if you are signing up for the first time, here's to sign up for new service with T-Mobile.

When you find yourself in need of an easy-to-use cell phone service, T-Mobile has many plans for individuals and families. It's simple to sign up for service online using the T-Mobile website's convenient self-service options. Read on for step-by-step instructions on how to sign up for new service from T-Mobile.

Step 1: Go to T-Mobile.com and Check Out Your Options

At www.t-mobile.com there are several ways to hook yourself up with a new phone and plan. To learn more about the plan options available, click the "Shop current plans" banner. Once you select a plan, you'll be directed to the phones for sale. Click "Shop Now" if you want to go straight to checking out the latest phones and see what is currently on sale.

If you would rather speak directly to a specialist, select one of the contact links along the top of the website. Click "Find a Store" to find your nearest T-Mobile location for in-person service. To speak to a live chat representative, hover over the option at the top of the page that says "Contact & Support", and click the "Chat with an expert" option.

Step 2: Pick a Phone and Create an Account

Now it's time to have fun shopping for a new phone. While you're clicking through the online store, keep your eyes peeled for promo codes that could save you money on your bill or give you premium shipping options.

Once you've found your perfect new phone, click the "Add to Cart" button. You'll then be prompted to log in, or you can check out as a guest. Whether you sign in or not, the next page shows you the value of your old phone if you want to trade it in toward the purchase of your new phone.

Step 3: Place Your Order

With your plan and phone selected, you can check out and order your phone. You may be able to use your good credit to purchase a phone on a monthly payment plan instead of paying for the phone upfront. After a quick credit check, you can see the financing and special offers available to you.

Fill out the form, and submit your information to find out the type of financing available to you, then finalize your order. Toward the bottom of the page by the checkout button, you can see the expected arrival date of your new phone. Standard orders ship quickly, but you have the option of express shipping if you need your phone in a hurry.

Step 4: Set Up Your New Device

Once your phone arrives, charge it for several hours before attempting to set up service. Turn the phone on, and follow the on-screen prompts for easy setup. Read the enclosed instructional booklet to find the answers to any questions that may pop up and to find the phone number you need to call to activate your phone.

After following our simple guide, you should be good to go. If you are having trouble with any of the steps or need help activating your phone, you can contact T-Mobile customer support via phone, live chat, or in person at your local T-Mobile store.
