What is the process for appealing a denied claim?

Asked a year ago
If your claim has been denied by CareFirst, you have the right to appeal the decision. To start the appeals process, you must submit a written request within a certain timeframe along with any supporting documentation that may help overturn the denial. Your request will be reviewed by a separate team who will determine if the denial was warranted. If the appeal is successful, your claim will be approved and processed accordingly. Make sure to follow all instructions provided by CareFirst to ensure your appeal is handled in a timely manner.
