Hello!
I discovered that my Steam account was hacked. The email address associated with the account has been changed to one I don't recognize: s*********@g****.c**, which is not one of my usual email addresses. The password was also changed. However, my username remains the same.
I attempted to restore my account but encountered a loop on the support site. I managed to verify my account through Paypal by confirming a purchase made on May 28th. Following the instructions, I logged into Paypal to validate the purchase for account access, but I received an error message upon returning to the Steam page.
Unfortunately, I am unable to file a ticket without access to my account. I created a new account, but when logged in, the option to report a stolen account is restricted with a message stating that I am already logged in successfully. A friend informed me that my account was active recently, which is inaccurate as I have not used my PC in weeks and was at work during that time.
I can identify most of my friends on my original account and provide details about the games and DLCs I own. I have complete access to my Paypal account and can provide records of purchases if needed.
I appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.
Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
G. Z.

My son's Steam account was breached, resulting in valuable items being traded without his permission. The email and phone number associated with the account (Terramaster1234) were changed without his knowledge.
1. We are seeking assistance to recover his account with the following details:
Email: [redacted] Phone: [redacted]
2. We request the restoration of the following items or the equivalent value to be added to his account wallet:
- Fachlion Knife Damascus Steel - Field Tested
- M4 Dragon King - Minimal Wear
- AK RatRod - Stat Track - Minimal Wear
- Op Atheris - Minimal Wear
3. Please contact me, Diana DuMelle, at [redacted] or via email at [redacted] for further assistance.
We reached out for help previously, but his account remained vulnerable, resulting in the loss of the mentioned items. He invested his own money in acquiring them and is understandably distressed. Your guidance and support are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Diana

Recently, I acquired the game "The Forest" on my brother's account for its VR support, knowing he had all the necessary setup. Utilizing Steam's family sharing, I intended to play without issue even if he used his account. Unexpectedly, I received a notification today stating I'd be kicked out because my brother started another game. This change in family sharing rules is frustrating as it restricts shared game access. I seek either a gift of the game from my brother or a refund so I can purchase it myself. Your consideration is appreciated, and I await your reply. Thank you.

Today at work, I purchased a copy of Portal 2 from the thrift store where I am employed. Unfortunately, when I attempted to enter the CD key, a message indicated that the code had already been used (likely by the previous owner who donated it). I tried to send an email to the associated account to resolve the issue, but I can't contact the account directly. I am unsure if this email will be effective in resolving the problem. I am seeking advice on how to make the code work without having to purchase a new one directly from Steam.

Hello, I need some assistance. I no longer have access to my Spectrum email as I have canceled my services due to retirement and selling my house. While waiting for my new home to be ready, I am staying at my children's house and tried transferring my email from the old account to theirs but was unsuccessful. Unfortunately, Spectrum has not been helpful in resolving this issue. In the meantime, I have switched to using my Gmail on my cell phone and have updated my other accounts such as PayPal accordingly. However, when trying to update my email on Steam, I faced challenges as the options provided did not work for me due to recent changes made. I attempted to contact customer support via phone but did not receive the assistance I needed. I simply would like to update my email to continue using my account seamlessly. Thank you for your help.

I am unable to access my account despite multiple attempts to reset the password. Each time, I encounter an error stating "The account name or password entered is incorrect" on both the website and the client. I have experimented with various password formats including just alphanumeric characters and a simple lowercase word, but nothing seems to work. To exacerbate the issue, I have been unsuccessful in seeking assistance. This marks the sixth place I have turned to for help, yet I am unable to access in-person support without logging in first, which is unfeasible when encountering login difficulties. Although the support page suggests waiting for an hour or two due to maintenance issues, it has been 8 hours since I initiated the troubleshooting process.

I recently bought what I believed to be an orienteering game, but encountered issues with loading and gameplay. The tutorial was not helpful in learning how to play, as my attempts to control the map with the mouse and keyboard were unsuccessful. Despite not actively playing the game for 23 hours, I was denied a refund based on playtime. It seems the game was running in the background without my knowledge. I'm frustrated by the instant refusal and lack of understanding in my refund request. If the game could function properly, I wouldn't be seeking a refund. Any assistance would be appreciated.

My issue hasn't been resolved. I purchased a defective card from STEAM WEBSITE, but I haven't used it. Despite this, the site claims it's been redeemed. Feeling frustrated, I've essentially thrown away $[redacted] as I got nothing in return. I'm upset thinking that STEAM's customer service response will be that nothing can be done once a card is redeemed. It's hard to believe that someone else redeemed it as it wasn't me. I'm disappointed and feel like my money was wasted without any resolution in sight. I'm eager to hear from Steam Customer Service, but deep down, I suspect they'll just say the card was redeemed and offer no further assistance. This whole situation is frustrating, and I feel let down.

My Steam account, alexj34, was hacked, and I need to recover it. I self-locked it once I realized it was hacked, but I'm unable to regain ownership by myself since the hacker changed the email, password, and phone number for Steam Guard. This has made it impossible for me to access my account without personalized assistance from a Steam staff member. I have all the necessary information saved from when I self-locked the account.
I would greatly appreciate any help.

I recently experienced a hacking issue with my Steam account. Yesterday, I was prompted to enter my password for the first time in a long while, despite usually being logged in automatically. After encountering an "incorrect user or password" message, I went through the password reset procedure, created a new password, and confirmed it was correct. However, the same issue recurred today. When trying to reset my password again, Steam no longer recognizes the email associated with my account. This has prevented me from accessing Steam, and as a frequent Rocket League player, it's frustrating not being able to play. I am unsure how this situation has occurred.

After my hard drive failed, I had to replace it with a new one. Setting up the new computer has been a challenge as it doesn't recognize my main account's email, which was previously my brother's email that we no longer have access to. I am unable to navigate the Steam options to indicate I've lost access to this email address. I have the username and password for my account but lack access to the associated email. I am frustrated with the difficulty in resolving this issue through Steam support and community forums.

I had a trojan virus on my computer recently. I played on Steam this morning after dealing with the virus. However, when I returned home from work, I couldn't access my Steam account. It kept rejecting all the information I entered, preventing me from opening a recovery ticket. I made purchases for Destiny 2 and received Stellaris as a gift from my brother. I have confirmation for both transactions, along with old passwords, my user ID, and emails. I've been struggling to recover my account for 6 hours now. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I received an email informing me that my ESO email address was changed. When I tried to log into Steam to verify, neither my phone number nor email was recognized, and I exhausted my attempts trying to log in. I suspect my Steam account has been compromised. Any advice on how to recover it would be appreciated, as captchas often do not work, causing me to run out of attempts. I am concerned about losing access to many games and potentially my card details.

My Steam account has been stolen! I was watching a livestream of a CS:GO match and made a mistake by clicking on a giveaway link. I entered my mobile authenticator code without thinking, and now I can't access my account. Between 2:55-2:56 ET, I received notifications that my account email was changed, my phone was removed, and more. I believe I have locked my account, but I can't change the password, email, or do anything else about it. The 17-digit SteamID is [redacted][redacted], and the account has the unique URL itsyaboipapi. I can provide proof with emails from Steam or a $20 Steam wallet card code that was added recently. I scanned my computer for viruses and changed my email password to secure it further.

My account "jimaras52" was hacked on 9/11/[redacted]. I'm unable to create a ticket on Steam. I possess all payment information and receipts from PayPal linked to the account. The hacker changed the email, but I have all necessary payment details required by Steam. I simply lack a means to communicate. Please specify the information you need before the hacker accesses my account and potentially sells my game items. Your assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,
I apologize in advance for any errors in my English. I am currently dealing with a situation where my younger friend's Steam account has been stolen and I am trying to recover it. The hacker has changed the email address, password, and username associated with the account. The challenge we are facing is that at the time of the theft, my friend was using a family member's email address which he cannot recall. Without access to the original email, we are unable to reset the password. The Steam support page instructs to change the password, which is impossible for us to do, and it seems there is no direct way to contact Steam support for assistance in such cases.
My question is, how can I reach out to Steam support to seek their help in recovering the account? We have some details about the previous username, payment cards used, and a limited number of possible email addresses that could have been used. However, I am struggling to find a way to contact Steam directly for assistance.
Thank you for any guidance you can offer in this matter.

My account was hacked into, and the perpetrator gained access to my email while I was asleep. I submitted a refund request to Steam, but they informed me that the hacker needs to accept the refund, which hasn't happened. I have evidence like IPs, unfamiliar purchases, and the hacker not being on my friends list. I reached out to Steam with screenshots of the purchases and suspicious activities, but they insisted the hacker must agree to the refund. Is there a method to secure my refund, or should I call them to address this issue?

I recently received an email notification stating that my email address linked to my Steam account was changed without my authorization. Consequently, I am now unable to access my Steam account. Despite attempting to use Steam support to recover my account, the system asks me to reset the password, sending the recovery email to the hacker's address. This leaves me powerless to regain access or reset the password. I wonder if there is an alternative method to verify my ownership through personal information like credit cards or purchase history. I believe it would be beneficial for Steam to respond to my email or voicemail to facilitate the verification process. The hacker has already altered the email associated with the account, and direct communication with Steam support seems to be the only solution to verify my identity using personal details like credit card information or purchase history.

Someone has tampered with my Steam account, changing the email and password. Despite attempting to navigate through the help forms, I am unable to regain access. I didn't link Steam Guard or a phone number to my account, and the email associated with it has been switched. An email notification indicates the change was made by [redacted].64.[redacted].[redacted] (RU). A friend even noticed the account being active online. I wish to revert my Steam account to the old email and undo any harm caused. I have strengthened my email password and checked my computer for viruses. Assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I recently bought the Cadet Edition of Heart of Iron 4 for $39.99 on September 23. Soon after, I noticed a Mobilization Bundle with the Cadet Edition and the first four expansions being sold for less than what I paid for the Cadet Edition alone. I am enjoying the game and would like to keep it. Considering the short time frame between my purchase and the discounted bundle, I'm hoping the $39.99 I paid can be transferred to buying the Mobilization Bundle at $29.21, with the difference credited back to my American Express card. If it's easier for Steam, I also am open to a refund so I can repurchase the bundle. I haven't played the game yet; I've been focusing on learning how to play through online resources like wikis and videos. I tried using the Steam Support Ticket system but couldn't find a suitable option for my request. I would be grateful if my request could be taken into account. Thank you.
