I have tried to refund Ori and the Blind Forest twice, but it was declined due to surpassing the 2-hour limit. I believe I should be an exception to this policy since my reason for wanting a refund is missing a sale by a few days, not the amount of time played. For instance, if I played for only 2 hours and missed a sale, I'd be eligible for a refund, even if I planned to play for 25 hours. Ultimately, the total playtime will be the same. I am unsure whom to contact for assistance as the Steam bots keep denying my requests. Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear back soon.

On the 10th of March, my account was compromised when I unknowingly logged into a fraudulent fishing website. I submitted a ticket to Steam Support with details of the incident. Steam Support responded indicating a "historical event" on my account, mentioning the need for a retail CD key from a game box I used in [redacted] to verify ownership. It's been over 16 years since then, and I no longer have access to the key. I provided information on my visa card transactions for game purchases, email receipts, CD keys from Humble Bundle, and more to prove ownership. However, after 35 hours without a response, I am unsure of what steps to take next. I value my Steam account due to the significant investments made over the years. I am anxious about losing it because of this unfortunate incident.

I have been unfairly banned from my Steam account without clear evidence of cheating or any wrongdoing. The person from Steam who contacted me mentioned making a mistake and targeting the wrong individual. I value my account, which I have maintained for nearly a decade with no history of violations. I am seeking assistance in having my account reinstated as I have not engaged in any behavior warranting a ban.

My Steam account was recently compromised by scammers. Initially, they tricked a friend into falsely reporting me for duplicating items and then directed me to a fake admin account, where I unwittingly provided my Steam Guard code out of fear of being banned. Subsequently, they attempted to obtain credit card details (which I don't have on file) before changing my account credentials. Despite waiting 18 hours to learn how to lock my account, they had already turned it into another fake admin to further lure my friends into their scam.
Furthermore, I accidentally lost my account unlock code by overwriting it while trying to save it, complicating the account retrieval process. Although I've updated my support ticket multiple times with additional information, I've yet to receive a response after more than a day. I'm extremely anxious about the security of my account and have resorted to seeking help in this forum. I hope a Steam support representative can address my ticket promptly, as the situation has left me sleepless and concerned for my friends' accounts.

In [redacted], my brother acquired Doom on his Steam account, which I played through Family Sharing, logging 43 hours. Wanting to replay before Doom Eternal's release, I purchased it for myself. Since our Family Sharing wasn't on my new computer, I couldn't access the game and forgot about my brother's ownership. I unintentionally bought the game before realizing my mistake. Although I asked for a refund due to the error, support denied it citing over 2 hours played. I bought the game today, not tallying 43 hours already. The discrepancy seems impossible, but support hasn't acknowledged my recent purchase.

I purchased a card on 3/20/20 with barcode #[redacted][redacted]28. The code on the card was ZEMDJ-XBJCF-H7YMT. My friend tried to redeem it on their Steam wallet, but it showed as already used. This is the third time my friends have had issues with these cards. I've lost $[redacted] due to the no-return policies. I can't keep losing money on Steam products. My friend is in need with a deaf and mute daughter and a 2-year-old child, so this situation is urgent. We are located in NY, and given the state of emergency, we need this resolved quickly.

Hello Steam, I urgently need your assistance. My account has been hacked, and the hacker changed my username, password, and email address. I still have access to my Uplay account but am concerned about my Steam account. I have already locked my account and have the code you provided. Unfortunately, I don't have any credit cards as I am Iranian, and we do not have access to payment methods like PayPal or Visa. Please, I urgently need your help in recovering my account. I have proof of purchasing Rainbow Six Siege in my email as someone I trust bought it for me. The hacker tricked me into downloading an app, which allowed them access to my Discord. I have since reset my email, password, and scanned my computer for viruses. Please respond to me as soon as possible. I have been waiting for a response for three days now. Thank you.

Hello, Steam, I need your urgent help. My account was hacked, and the hacker changed my username, password, and email address. I was able to secure my Uplay account, but I'm concerned about my Steam account. I've already locked my Steam account and have the recovery code you provided. I don't have a credit card because I'm from Iran, where obtaining credit cards like PayPal or Visa is difficult. Please assist me promptly in recovering my account. I want to show you proof of my purchase of Rainbow Six Siege. I bought it from a trusted seller who didn't hack me. The hacker tricked me into downloading an app, which allowed them to communicate through my Discord. Once I realized this, I reset my Gmail, changed my passwords, and scanned my computer multiple times. Please respond quickly, as you are my only hope in reclaiming my account.

I recently bought a Steam card at Walmart. After scratching off the silver line with someone who helped me buy it, I realized there were no funds on the card when I checked hours later on the app. The receipt says it's active, but no balance is showing. It's my second purchase, and the system shows it was used in California, where I bought it. I got a $50 card for a friend in Texas. When she tried to use it, it was already used. I just scratched off the code and sent it to her. Walmart couldn't assist and redirected me to Steam support, which hasn't responded. My friend is anxious, waiting for a resolution. I want to know how to replace the card for her.

My daughter was contacted on Discord by someone claiming to be from Steam, saying her account was compromised. She added the imposter on Steam, who then asked for her email. After receiving it, they changed her password, locking her out of her account. To prevent deletion, the scammer told her to buy a $50 Steam Gift Card. Fortunately, my daughter came to me once this happened, and I realized it was a scam. We need help to resolve this issue so she can regain access to her account and prevent losing the games we purchased. Thank you for your help with this situation.

I accidentally purchased the standard version of Monster Hunter World instead of the bundle with the Iceborne expansion. I have 37 hours showing in Steam from family sharing, but only bought the game today (March 23rd) and have not played it myself yet. Could you kindly refund my purchase so I can buy the correct version that includes the Iceborne DLC? I'm a student on a budget, especially now with the coronavirus situation impacting my break. The bots I've talked to haven't been able to assist me effectively. Thank you for your help.

I encountered a user by the name of Gocommitsteponlego who claimed to mistakenly report me for duplicating items in TF2. He instructed me to contact someone named Asher, a level 52 Steam user supposedly from Steam support. Asher requested that I send all my items for verification to avoid account deletion, and out of fear of losing the $[redacted] I had invested in Steam, I complied. He then insisted on my Steam username (thatduckboi) and asked for my account validation code to remove the report. Realizing it was a scam, I panicked, concerned he might access my mother's email. Despite his threats, he changed my account credentials but did not delete it, leaving me distraught and sleepless. I sought help from Steam support but have yet to receive a response after reporting the incident on Get Human.

Dear Sir,
As a Steam user, I recently fell victim to a Russian hacker on Discord who sent me a link that I didn't understand. After clicking on it and logging in, I received an email saying that my Steam account now belongs to that person. They removed my Gmail, phone number, and mobile authenticator. When I asked for my account back, they blocked me and started sending fake links to my friends. I reported the incident to Steam with proof of purchases and chat screenshots, but have yet to hear back. I am feeling very distressed about this situation, especially during the pandemic. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide.
Thank you,
S.P.

A friend on Steam named What accidentally reported my account for having duplicate items. They messaged me to inform me of the error. I've been advised to contact a Steam admin who verified my email and phone number. The admin is now requesting my dad's card to purchase a key to unlock my temporarily banned games/account. Due to lockdown restrictions in South Africa and living alone, I can't easily access my dad's card to resolve this mistaken issue. Is there an alternative method to reactivate my account, which was disabled unjustly due to someone else's error?

Hello, I recently bought "Slime Rancher" on Steam. I'm a huge fan and poured 10 hours into the game since purchasing it on March 30th. However, I recently noticed the game was on sale for 60% off, and it left me feeling like I had overpaid. Given the financial constraints due to the coronavirus situation, it's disheartening to see others getting the game for less. I wish I had waited for the sale, as it now hampers my enjoyment. I've contacted Steam twice about this issue, but haven't had much luck. If you could assist, I'd appreciate it. My Steam username is @mawrk. I just want to discuss this with someone and hopefully find a solution. Thank you.

Hello,
I purchased a game, Mount & Blade Bannerlord, during its early access phase. Unfortunately, the game is riddled with constant crashes, glitches, and malfunctioning mechanics. The information provided about the game turned out to be inaccurate, and I feel deceived. Despite having about 45 hours of playtime, the majority was spent idling, trying to resolve issues with the game and my computer settings. It even consumes a large amount of memory and CPU power while idling.
I am seeking a refund as I only made the purchase three days ago. I attempted to request a refund through their online support system, but it was automatically rejected due to exceeding the 2-hour playtime limit. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I was playing Wingman with my best friend the other day. We played around 7-8 rounds and won them all. However, on the 9th round, a hacker appeared. I didn't purchase Prime because I wanted to see my rank first. I positioned myself in Wingman Inferno to avoid the hacker in the right corner near the entrance to the apartments. I was cautiously peeking and listening for footsteps when I was unexpectedly banned by an Overwatch player for ESP, which I was not using. I was streaming at that moment, so it doesn't make sense for me to cheat, especially since I am a Gold Nova Master player. The following day, I received a VAC ban for cheating, which I did not do. I urge you to review my gameplay as evidence that I wasn't cheating. I used to be a professional PUBG player in Croatia, so cheating isn't in my nature. I planned to buy Prime that night to avoid being mistaken for a cheater due to my quick progression in the game. Please lift the ban as I intend to purchase Prime and continue playing legitimately.

My account has been compromised. The hacker removed my mobile authenticator, changed my phone number, email, and set my account to private. Despite attempting all account recovery methods, I have been unsuccessful. I managed to self-lock the account and received a key to unlock it, but the recovery instructions were sent to the hacker's email. As a result, the account remains locked, with me holding the key and the hacker having the instructions. I created a support ticket from an alternate account, but after 3 days, I have not received a response. Surprisingly, when I requested the deletion of a third alternate account, Steam support responded within 20 hours. I just messaged them regarding my main account's issue less than 20 minutes ago. I decided to seek help from your services after receiving no assistance from Valve, who ignored my calls.

I am experiencing difficulty verifying a purchase on Steam. I am unsure if the problem lies with the Steam client, my billing information, or another source.
I have devoted the past two hours to reaching out to Steam customer support. Unfortunately, I have encountered a maze of unhelpful self-help questions that do not address my specific issue, and I am unable to find an option to contact support directly. This has led me to question the existence of Steam's customer service altogether.
Upon reaching out to this platform, I hope that assistance can be provided in locating a way to contact Steam. This predicament appears to be straightforward, and I am also interested in learning how to connect with Steam for any future account-related concerns that may arise.
Regards,
Einar D.

Subject: Issue Logging Into Steam Account
To whom it may concern,
I recently faced difficulties logging into my Steam account despite entering the correct ID and password. After multiple failed attempts, I proceeded to reset my password and update my email address.
Upon successfully logging back into my Steam account, I noticed that my username had been altered from "skyyeow714" to "trumpet714," and all my data, including my friend list, purchase history, subscriptions, and game progress, was missing. I suspect this issue may have been caused by changing my email address.
I kindly request the assistance of Steam Support to retrieve my lost data, restore my original username "skyyeow714," and resolve this matter promptly.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards.
