I got married on March 27, [redacted], and submitted all required documents to update my account from my ex-husband's to my current husband's. Initially, there were issues with my Social Security (SS) and Medicare benefits, with some back and forth between accounts before being corrected by a Congressman's help after 17 months. Despite notifying SS about overpayments and being assured it would be resolved, they now claim I owe about $3,[redacted] more than what I received in direct deposits. SS plans to deduct this amount from my benefits, causing concern. Despite visiting the Marietta, Georgia SS office seven times, there has been no resolution. The 1-[redacted] number led to a two-hour wait and incorrect information, further complicating the situation. It is frustrating that SS hasn't thoroughly reviewed the direct deposits, which clearly show the SS numbers for each payment. I am willing to repay the correct amount owed, but the current situation is causing undue stress.

My father, Carl S. Laco, passed away on August 5, [redacted]. His birthday was December 31, [redacted]. Unfortunately, he did not receive his last Social Security check. I visited the local Social Security office yesterday and completed a form to request his final payment. The Social Security checks were deposited into his bank account, of which I am the beneficiary (I have a signed letter from the bank confirming this). My sibling is listed as the contingent beneficiary on our father's account. I just want to ensure that the entire Social Security check is issued to me, considering that if it had been deposited into his account, I would have received it. As my sister is out of state, I am currently managing all of our father's outstanding bills. Thank you, Gary S. Laco.

I encountered an issue while filing my application online for Social Security and Medicare. After being unable to obtain the proper information, I called their customer service line. Unfortunately, I had to wait on hold for 2 hours before speaking with a rude representative. As a 65-year-old applying for these benefits, I was distressed to learn that I missed the deadline for enrolling in Part B and would have to wait until July [redacted]. I was unaware of the separate application process for Medicare. I had a scheduled phone appointment at the Auburn office, but received the call from the Oakland office instead. The representative there kindly suggested I visit the Auburn office in-person for assistance, but I am unable to drive. Additionally, I am facing unexpected medical expenses, including a necessary blood panel and a postponed surgery due to lack of insurance. I would greatly appreciate a reevaluation of my situation to receive the vital medical help I urgently need.

My name is Larry Michael Kurtz, born on July 6, [redacted].
I am retired and living in Germany at an der Autobahn 8, [redacted] St. Leon-Rot.
For the past 7 years, I have been receiving SS payments promptly from your office.
However, this month, my September payment did not arrive for unknown reasons. While my wife received her payment as usual, I did not receive mine.
These payments are crucial for our budget and help us cover our bills.
I kindly request a quick check of my records to resolve this issue promptly.
I understand you are busy, but I appreciate any assistance to get back on the payment schedule.
Thank you in advance. I look forward to your response.

I need my SSI benefits readjusted. I was evicted from my apartment because I did not receive any documents or letters stating my payment would be reduced to $[redacted] from the usual $[redacted]. This error caused me to incur expenses moving to a new address. Despite being informed on August 7th that a letter would be sent on the 10th regarding the payment change, I did not receive it until after the eviction notice. This delay led to financial difficulties and borrowing money for moving costs. Additionally, an error in the routing number further delayed my payment. As of September 10th, I have not received the adjusted benefit or back pay. This situation has caused strain on my relationships and financial stability.

In January [redacted], I began dialysis three times a week due to end-stage renal disease. Currently, Blue Cross Blue Shield is denying my claims, stating that I should have Medicare coverage because of the ESRD. However, Medicare has informed me that my coverage will not start until October 01, [redacted]. I reached out to Medicare, and they explained that only the insurance provider can adjust my status. They also mentioned that I should qualify for Medicare after four months on dialysis. Unfortunately, I am unable to call Social Security due to a stroke and lack of assistance. I kindly request a review of my case to change my status so I can have Medicare from May [redacted] onwards to cover my medical expenses. I am struggling to pay multiple bills. My Medicare number is 6YQ5-WK7-CC82, and my social security number is [redacted]-46-[redacted]. My birthdate is 09/21/[redacted]. Please consider my situation. Thank you, Burt E.

I recently changed my direct deposit account and am concerned as I haven't seen any deposits in either account. What happens if I can't receive direct deposit? I rely on this money for my bills and need it urgently.
Another issue I am facing is that my backpay award is being delayed due to an investigation about my SSI benefits eligibility. It has been over two months, and I was informed that this delay is common, but my attorney disagrees. How can we expedite this process and ensure I receive my money?
While I don't want to appear pushy, I will contact the Social Security office regularly for updates as I've been waiting patiently for over two months. Please advise on the best course of action for resolving these matters effectively.
Thank you,
DT

In January, I applied for Part B without realizing I needed to apply a year earlier. I was informed I couldn't get Part B until July. I obtained Part D and a Medigap supplement on July 1. However, healthcare providers can't verify my Part B as I'm not in their system. I recently found out I should have been paying over $[redacted] per month for Part B based on my late husband's tax return. I've been waiting for my first tax return as a widow for 7 months, and Social Security said I should have been paying since January [redacted], even though I learned later that I wasn't eligible until July. The last representative I spoke to didn't know how to resolve the issue, so I'm urging the accountant's office to complete my return. Once done, I plan to visit Toccoa for an in-person discussion. The last person I spoke to forwarded my information to the billing office, but I worry they might demand payment before acknowledging they never processed my application.

I am having trouble making payments for my SSI overpayment. I have been trying to reach the [redacted] phone number for days, but I am always on hold for hours before speaking to a representative. I need to make a payment by the 6th, and even though it's now the 20th, I still haven't been able to get through. I don't have checks for my checking account and buying money orders is not affordable on my fixed income. Is there an alternative website or phone number to make electronic repayments?

I am considering changing my Representative Payee. The current person hasn't been meeting my needs for things like medicine, clothes, and other essentials. The previous payee was more responsible with managing money and met my needs effectively. If the previous payee, who lives out of state, could become my RP again, that would be ideal. I want to ensure my financial needs are properly addressed without delay. Before December, I will confirm my decision on changing the Representative Payee. When would you require a final decision from me regarding this matter?

I recently changed banks and updated my new checking account number on 10/1/18. I was informed that my son's and my checks would be 3 days late. However, contacting Social Security has been challenging. Despite being told the wait time was 1.25 hours, some waits have exceeded 2.5 hours, leading to me hanging up. The representative I spoke to yesterday insisted on my son's SSN, which I didn't have at the moment. Past experiences have not required this. After waiting for 1.5 hours, I had to disconnect again. We urgently need our benefits for living expenses, and the difficulty in reaching assistance is frustrating. Currently on hold once more to address the delay as the funds were expected by 10/6/18. It would be beneficial to increase the number of phone representatives to manage the high call volume efficiently.
Thank you for your attention.
Best,
Sandie M.

I am a U.S. citizen residing in Canada and receive Social Security (SS) benefits. Recently, my SS payments were unexpectedly reduced without clear reasoning. The local SS office in Bellingham claimed it was due to an "overpayment" but did not elaborate. After challenging this decision, SS rectified the error and reinstated payments at a lower rate. However, payments were once again reduced without explanation. A formal complaint was submitted over 6 months ago and met with silence. The Bellingham office stated a resolution should be reached within 60 days, a timeline that has long passed. To my surprise, I did not receive any payment for September except for a negligible interest payment on zero dollars. This illogical situation requires immediate attention. I have meticulously documented all relevant information, including bank statements and call logs. I am seeking assistance in restoring my previous payment amount without further disruption and require a formal response to my unanswered appeal.

The Social Security Administration scheduled an interview for 10-18-[redacted] at 2:08 pm with a high school student regarding SSI benefits. However, since the student will be in class at that time, they are seeking advice on alternative arrangements. The student's SSI benefits may have ceased because it ran out, but the details are unclear. SSI mentioned contacting them for an interview to establish benefits for themselves. The student is anxious about missing the call during class and does not want to skip school. Any guidance on how to handle this situation would be greatly valued.

My father-in-law struggles with dementia, and my husband and I have been caring for him since his last workday was October 14th, [redacted]. Originally, we planned to have him stop working at the beginning of the year, but his condition has worsened making it overwhelming. His stress levels are high, affecting his speech. We are using his available PTO and soon short-term disability will take effect until it runs out. If necessary, long-term disability will follow. The concern now is any gap before Social Security Disability benefits kick in could be detrimental. Maintaining his insurance coverage is crucial for doctor visits and medications. We are seeking guidance to ensure we are on the right path. An appointment is needed to initiate his Social Security disability claim and obtain a replacement card due to his current one being old and damaged.

I have a general inquiry that used to affect me in the past. I reside in TX. I once lived with someone on Hud housing, paying $[redacted] a month and receiving snap food stamps. Each household member was on the food stamps. I received an SSI check of about $[redacted] and was instructed to pay $[redacted] monthly. I was fine with paying my share, but felt it was more than what the able-bodied household leaders contributed. SSI funds are meant for the disabled individual. I just seek clarification on the payment structure in such situations. This is no longer an issue for me now, but I want to understand it better. Thank you for your assistance.

I receive SSD and my daughter is also supposed to receive a small check to help with her costs. When my social security was reinstated and I received a back payment, she never got her check. I am wondering what I should do to have that resolved. Additionally, I need to request a new social security card as my purse was stolen months ago with my birth certificate, driver's license, and social security card inside. I have managed to replace my birth certificate, Medicare Part D card, and voter registration card, but I still need my social security card to get a new driver's license. I know all my numbers, but the DMV requires copies of everything for the new license.

I visited the SSI field office to submit a request for some of my back pay money for home windows and living room furniture that were needed since last year's hurricanes. I brought written estimates and everything asked of me as this wasn't my first interaction with this office. Despite being told I was approved and the money would be in my account, it has not arrived yet. The website mentions immediate payment, but I'm facing delays. My contractor is waiting, and I feel unfairly treated by this office. I need the money today, as I have urgent expenses to cover. I fear my request may be denied once again, and I feel frustrated with this situation. - M. Passmore

My name is Narinder K. My social security number is [redacted]-25-[redacted]. I used to receive SSI, but it abruptly stopped in October [redacted]. Upon inquiry at the local Social Security office, I discovered that someone had opened an account with Bank of America using my social security number back in [redacted], which contained approximately $47,[redacted]. I contacted Bank of America, and after an investigation, they issued a letter on May 11th confirming that the account wasn't mine. I submitted this letter to the Social Security office in Manassas, VA, but have not received any updates despite multiple visits. I am currently in a difficult financial situation with no income source. Please assist me in resolving this issue promptly. You can reach me via email at '[redacted]'.
