I've been having work done on my old [redacted] truck at Midas. The initial estimate kept increasing unexpectedly. It started with a fuel pump, then a sending unit, new lines, and new straps, which I believe should have been all included in the first estimate. As a pastor on a fixed income, I communicated this to Dave, who assured me that they would work with me. However, I still ended up having to use credit to cover the rising costs. After getting my truck back, I noticed a strong grease or oil odor that gave me severe headaches for days. They then claimed I needed additional repairs for inspection purposes, including a crossmember and a new battery, even though my current battery is relatively new and was working fine. I felt pressured into unnecessary services. I plan to escalate this by involving the nonprofit's attorney and reporting the issue to the Consumers Protection Bureau if not resolved satisfactorily. I hope Midas addresses these concerns promptly.

I recently brought my car to a repair shop but faced challenges keeping up with payments due to medical issues. I enrolled in a financial assistance program and they sent payments to the shop, which claimed they never received them. Upon visiting the shop for the last payment, I was informed my car was missing, possibly towed for abandonment. After persistent calls, I discovered it was towed to a company where retrieval costs are higher than the car's value. The previous manager instigated the tow without informing me. The new manager distanced himself from the issue. I am eager to resolve this before considering legal action. I desire to recover my car and settle any outstanding payments for services or request a refund for the repair costs and the vehicle's value.

I went to MIDAS located at [redacted] N 90th St. in Scottsdale, AZ [redacted] for a Full Synthetic oil change and tire rotation. This is not the first time I've been there. Lately, I suspected that they have not been rotating my tires during the service. My hunch was based on the way the car felt when driving after the service and the fact that they did not have the unique socket needed to remove the lug nuts on my wheel locks. After questioning the service manager, I discovered they hadn't rotated the tires and had to remind them to do it. In response, they overinflated my tires and tightened the lug nuts excessively. The lack of accountability and corrective action from the staff left me very disappointed and questioning the quality of their service. This experience has occurred more than once at this particular location, so I advise caution to others considering going there.

I am disappointed with the lack of professionalism at this auto shop. I brought my car in for a noise issue, dropping off the keys due to COVID-19. However, I was not contacted about the problem for 3 days. After approving an $[redacted] repair for a brake line and calipers, I was later informed it was a misdiagnosis, it was the ball joint for $[redacted]. Despite being promised an afternoon pickup time, the car was not ready. Upon picking it up, new dashboard lights were on due to a broken ABS sensor. Despite multiple calls since April 30th, I struggled to get a response. After finally reaching them on May 6th, they were unhelpful and disrespectful. The lack of communication and poor customer service is unacceptable.

I purchased a Groupon for an oil change at a Midas location on Pecos and Windmill in Henderson, NV. This was my third visit to the same shop. The staff member at the front desk informed me that I couldn't redeem my Groupon as I had already used one in the past. Feeling frustrated, I decided to leave. However, I overheard the clerk mentioning my situation to another Midas location over the phone, which offended me. I felt like I was being treated unfairly when all I did was purchase a Groupon for an oil change. Upon checking the fine print, I found no mention of restrictions on multiple uses. This experience has left me disappointed, and I have decided not to return to Midas in the future. I was unable to reach Midas Muffler's corporate offices or Customer Service with the numbers I had. As a retiree, I now have the time to express my dissatisfaction with Midas Muffler and share my story with others.

I contacted the Midas store to inquire about the price of replacing the spark plugs on my [redacted] GMC. I was informed that it would cost $[redacted] for the service. Despite requesting just the spark plug replacement, I was quoted the same price again. Disappointed with the steep cost, I ended the call. As a loyal customer who has frequented their shop for various services, I find it disheartening that such a basic task comes with a hefty price tag. I am taken aback by the sudden increase in prices, especially during these challenging times with many facing unemployment due to the pandemic. The prospect of an oil change seems daunting now, considering the potential cost escalation to around $[redacted] or more, given the spark plug replacement estimate. It seems I must seek automotive services elsewhere. - Miss T. Location of store contacted: Address: [redacted] Perrin Beitel Rd, San Antonio, TX [redacted] Time of call: 12:30 pm

I went to Midas on May 12th for an oil change. On May 30th, while driving on the freeway, my car broke down due to low oil pressure. After speaking with the owner, a tow truck was supposed to pick up my car. However, it appears they are not planning to replace the engine. When I tried to retrieve my car today, they are insisting that I owe $[redacted] for the towing service. I'm unable to tow the car myself due to my job at U-Haul. It was determined by two mobile mechanics on the 12th that the low oil was the issue. Since the owner never mentioned any towing fees, I refuse to pay. I believe Midas is accountable for the low oil pressure in my car. I am adamant about not paying for the towing service and insist on the replacement of my engine. Should there be no resolution soon, I will arrange for my car to be towed from their location to my residence.

I visited Midas in Temple Hills, Maryland, for an oil change and discovered my door handle was broken afterward. Upon returning to Midas, I was instructed to bring the car back when the mechanic is available to inspect it. Subsequently, I sought estimates from Mercedes Benz dealer and Best Auto for the necessary panel replacement, with the former quoting $[redacted] and the latter around $[redacted]. Both places informed me that the entire door panel needs replacing as the handle cannot be fixed separately. When I revisited Midas on 6 July, the manager advised me to take the car to the dealer and astonishingly suggested the dealer should admit fault for the damage, which raises doubts for me, as I am diligent about car security.

Hello, I dropped off my car at Midas on August 17th at 8:00 pm for a brake job scheduled for August 18th. I left the keys in the drop box as they were aware of my plans. Unfortunately, my car was stolen because someone had broken into the drop box. Although it was recovered a few days later, it had sustained some damage and is currently undergoing repairs. Carstar contacted me and I agreed to still have the brake job done. The bill came to over $1,[redacted], and when I asked the mechanic if they would provide a discount due to my car being stolen on their premises, I was only offered a $40 deduction in labor costs. I believe Midas should take some responsibility for the theft of my car. - K. Currie

I received a written quote for a fuel line replacement at your Columbus, Ohio store, which increased from $[redacted] to $[redacted] upon my return a week later. As a loyal Midas customer for nearly 25 years, I've encountered three issues, all from the same shop on [redacted] West Broad Street. The manager, Josh, could only offer $[redacted], slightly higher than the original quote. Despite accepting, I question the necessity of a high mileage oil change at 88,[redacted] miles. While I plan to continue using Midas, I will avoid this particular location in the future. Despite its proximity to my home, I am willing to travel to another Midas branch for upcoming services. Thank you.

Subject: Urgent Issue with Midas and Firestone Employees I would like to address a serious matter regarding an incident that occurred while I was at Midas in Cathedral City, California. During a visit there, a valuable meteorite with unique reptile lips embedded in it went missing. Furthermore, I was involved in a physical altercation with Midas employees, where one mistook me for someone else and another assaulted me with a clipboard. The situation escalated as an employee from Firestone, located across the street, was also involved. As a certified senior citizen, I am deeply troubled by this ordeal. I plan to take legal action against Midas and Firestone, seeking $15 billion for the lost meteorite, as well as compensation for the pain, suffering, and damage caused. My brother is equally concerned, and we demand immediate resolution or the safe return of the meteorite. I urge Firestone in Cathedral City to address this matter promptly. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated. Please reach out to me at [redacted]. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed without delay. Thank you. Sincerely, G.D.

I am seeking advice on disputing charges from Midas in Stow, Ohio, as I feel they overcharged me for repairs on my [redacted] Toyota Corolla with over [redacted],[redacted] miles. Initially assuming a cost of a few hundred dollars, I was shocked at the nearly $2,[redacted] bill presented to me. Feeling coerced into pursuing the repairs, I ended up agreeing to use a credit card, despite my reluctance. I suspect they performed additional work without my consent. Having been a previous satisfied customer with reasonable pricing, I trusted their judgment until this experience. The burden of this unexpected expense has been challenging to manage. I am requesting a reduction of half the balance owed, as I firmly believe I was manipulated and taken advantage of during this transaction.

I am Angela B. I have lodged a complaint but have not received any response in almost two months. All I am asking for is the replacement of my hubcap. If they had checked it properly when they installed it, we wouldn't be facing this issue. They could have called the car dealership to get the hubcap. Despite reaching out, nobody from the headquarters has followed up with me to update on my situation. I am disappointed as a loyal customer who spends a significant amount at Midas. It is unfair and unacceptable. Kindly contact me at [redacted]. Thank you, Angela B.

On April 30, [redacted], I had the front sway bar link (#[redacted]) removed and replaced. However, on June 19, [redacted], I noticed a clanking noise on the right front passenger side. Upon inspection by a mechanic, it was discovered that the right side sway bar link was old and rust colored, unlike the supposedly new left side. I contacted Midas On Miller Rd in Flint, MI and spoke with Rafe, who confirmed the replacement of the part. Despite this, the right side was not new and was causing issues. Rafe agreed to address the problem but mentioned the part was not under warranty. I was charged for a part that was not replaced, leading to potential safety concerns. Furthermore, I received invoices (#[redacted] and #[redacted]) with differing charges for the same services. I believe this is fraudulent and am seeking restitution for the duplicate charges. I have sought legal advice and will await your prompt response within one week to resolve this matter.

I had my vehicle serviced on 3/3/[redacted] at Midas on [redacted] Knox Abbot Dr., Columbia, SC, and I encountered some issues. The technician who changed my oil broke the oil dip stick, claiming it was rusted. However, I believe it should not have been rusted if it was regularly in oil as stated. The manager suggested a $[redacted] replacement cost but did not remove the broken piece, leaving me with a dip stick that doesn't go in properly. I later discovered that my invoice was coded with a charge for the oil dip stick tube repair (code [redacted]) without my knowledge. This was not discussed with me and cost me an additional $[redacted]. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and deceived as a customer. I hope this matter can be resolved promptly.

I want to clarify the charges from this shop. They use a labor guide for repairs, and you are billed for the part and labor cost. The labor rate at this shop is $[redacted].00 per hour, which you were charged for 1 1/2 hours. The total cost included parts for $[redacted].79, labor for $[redacted].00, shop supplies for $26.99, and tax for $36.03, totaling $[redacted].81. The labor time can sometimes differ from the actual time taken for the repair. The matter is considered closed. Thank you, Midas Management.

In June, I visited Midas on Wooster Pike in Cincinnati, Ohio, for an oil change, front-end alignment, and balance due to my car shaking at 50-60mph. Unfortunately, they kept my car without informing me, causing inconvenience when I called before closing time. Even after rescheduling, the work wasn't completed promptly, and I faced delays in picking up my car. The service advisor mentioned the need to replace the serpentine belt but failed to address the ongoing shaking issue. Later, when attempting an oil change elsewhere, it was discovered that the bolt was stripped, causing further complications. Upon returning to Midas for resolution, I was informed that the previous balance service was missed. Despite the confusion, the staff were not accommodating in rectifying the situation, leaving me dissatisfied with the service. I am disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and communication during my visits, and I believe the necessary corrective services should be provided at no charge. Moving forward, I am uncertain about continuing to patronize Midas due to these recurring issues. - D.S.

Hello, I recently had my ignition switch repaired at Midas, but unfortunately, the overdrive and cruise control were not reconnected during the repair. I have brought the car back for them to fix it, but it's been sitting there for hours, and I can't leave it for days as I need it for work. I tried to make an appointment as stated on their website, but they informed me they don't make appointments. I've been a customer at Midas multiple times but now feel uneasy about the quality of repairs. I want assurance that not only the overdrive and cruise control will be fixed properly but also the previously replaced ball joint. I'm worried about the safety of the repairs done on my car and fear I may be held responsible in case of an accident. I expect my car to be repaired adequately when I can leave it for a few hours and not to be turned away after payment. Moreover, my car was damaged while at Midas, and although they discounted $70, I believe more should have been deducted. As a loyal customer, I am disappointed with the experience.

Good afternoon. I took my truck in for an oil change at Midas. The manager told me the oil pan screw was damaged and needed replacement, costing $11. When I asked how it got damaged, he said it was from previous oil changes. He then mentioned they couldn't get in the new screw, so they used the old one. He warned me that next time the whole oil pan may need replacing for $[redacted], and that a loose screw could lead to oil leakage. I want to review the security cameras to see what happened during the oil change. When I requested this, he got upset, claiming the issue wasn't significant since my truck is old. He insisted they damaged the oil pan, not just the screw, and I demand they take responsibility and replace it.

I recently had my car repaired at Midas, which included replacing the steering column. I paid a significant amount for this repair, expecting it to ensure my safety while driving. However, upon picking up my car, I was informed about an airbag light issue that could be fixed for free due to a recall. While driving, I tried to use my horn to alert another driver, only to find out it was not working. This left me feeling extremely unsafe as nothing on my steering wheel was functioning properly. I was not informed about these issues when I collected my car. Returning a vehicle in such an unsafe condition poses a serious safety hazard. I am seeking assistance and clarity on how this oversight occurred.
