I had a recent disappointing experience at Midas in Coon Rapids, Minnesota with Taylor, the Manager. I spent $96.74 for an inspection on my new car. Initially, Taylor mentioned a defective actuator which I negotiated with the dealership to cover. However, when the actuator needed replacement, the wrong part was ordered for the passenger side instead of the driver side. Despite my confusion, Midas quoted an additional $[redacted] for the passenger side actuator. The estimate did not align with the previously discussed issue. Jason then stated fixing both sides would cost about $1,[redacted]. Feeling deceived, I decided to only repair the driver side. Although Taylor promised to try lowering the cost for the passenger side, only labor costs were flexible. I ultimately paid for the driver side repair but left feeling cheated. I intend not to revisit Midas and hope for a satisfactory resolution to this matter. Thank you, Lori W.

I visited the Shelby Township Midas to get my [redacted] Ford Flex aligned. They test drove the car before and after the alignment. Prior to bringing it in, my steering wheel was slightly off, but with new parts and tires, I wanted everything to feel fresh. However, now after the alignment, the front suspension and steering feel off. I am extremely dissatisfied as the changes have made the steering so bad that I almost had an accident. I felt uneasy when I saw three mechanics huddled around my car. This situation is upsetting as I rely on this car for my family and work, and now it is unsafe to drive. I hope this issue can be resolved promptly.

I took my car to Midas for a brake check. I was informed that my rotors were good but my brakes needed replacing, with a lifetime warranty. After 3 weeks, the brakes started squeaking. Returning, I was told they were lubricated but fine. 3 months later, the squeaking persisted, and two other shops confirmed the issue. The rear rotor had an indent, potentially from faulty brakes. When I revisited Midas, they denied hearing the noise or noticing the indent. Despite the initial absence of both, the customer service was dismissive and unhelpful. The clerk, not a mechanic, attempted to minimize the problem when he acknowledged the squeaking. The situation is frustrating, having spent money and trust on their service, only to be met with indifference and disregard.

I went to Midas for an oil change, and when I got my car back, it was leaking oil. Midas claimed someone had stripped my oil pan and wanted to charge me $[redacted] to fix it. Even though there were no issues before they touched it, I took it back to get the oil pan replaced. However, the problem persisted. After realizing the unprofessional job Midas did, I took my car to Toyota, who found that the issue was a leak from the drain plug. I refused to go back to Midas and paid $[redacted] for Toyota to fix it. I am seeking a refund from Midas for this repair.

I recently had an accident on my motorcycle and was unable to ride it home due to two broken bones. My daughter, Sarah H., arranged with Jay, the manager at Midas Store [redacted] at [redacted] West Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL [redacted], to store my bike until my brother could pick it up on Friday. Despite my daughter's inquiries, we were not informed of any storage fees. To our surprise, upon pickup, we were charged $[redacted] for three days of storage instead of the agreed-upon four-day arrangement. I kindly request a refund of the overcharged amount.

I recently got my car inspected at Midas in North Charleston, South Carolina on the 6th. The service advisor assured me everything was fine. However, that same evening, my car overheated due to a lack of coolant. Today, the 9th, I returned to Midas and discovered on the inspection paperwork that there was a coolant leak and the reservoir was empty, information that was not disclosed to me. Consequently, my vehicle now has a blown head gasket. I am seeking assistance from someone in corporate to address and resolve this matter promptly. Thank you.

I have visited my local Midas several times, encountering different problems each time. After reporting the issue to my credit card company, the district manager, Adam, promised to reimburse me for the proper repair at a certified dealer. I've had the correct repair completed and am now seeking reimbursement. Despite multiple attempts to communicate, Adam has not responded. I only ask to be reimbursed for the accurate repair, as the previous work was not done correctly and already paid for. Midas did over $[redacted] of non-reimbursed work. I am open to receiving payment via PayPal or certified check by mail, with a preference for PayPal for its speed and security. Kindly assist. Thank you.

I got my [redacted] Nissan Rogue's oil changed today at the same place I've been to before. I had a 12:00 appointment and informed the clerk that I had a coupon for a regular oil change. However, when the service was done, the clerk asked for $75.59. I insisted it should be $19.99 as agreed. He claimed my car required synthetic oil, which contradicted my past experiences with regular oil changes.
Feeling deceived and overcharged, I have proof of today's bill and previous invoices showing regular oil was used at this location. I am requesting a refund for the overcharge. As a fellow small business owner, I see this as a disservice to your company by your employee C. Bellmyer at [redacted] Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE [redacted]. Please reach out to me via email.

I brought my car to Midas on Wednesday, 5/22, when the AT light came on suddenly, indicating a transmission issue. Midas, the closest repair shop, confirmed the need for a new transmission. Hoping for same-day service, I left my car there. By 9:30-10 am, they requested an extra $[redacted] for same-day part acquisition or a potential extended wait. Calling at 4:30 pm for an update, I learned the part wouldn't arrive until Friday, which hadn't been previously communicated. When inquiring about a rental due to lack of transportation, I was disappointed to find no assistance available. The assistant shop manager's unhelpful demeanor and excessive apologies, concluding with an offer of prayer, left me feeling underserved and questioning their professionalism.

Hello,
I visited the Renton MIDAS on Rainier Ave S with my Sentra for a malfunctioning rear signal. The mechanic identified a faulty wire connection and simply adjusted the wire to fix it. Even though I had recently replaced the entire unit, he suggested replacing the bulb due to it being loose. After a brief 10-minute service, I was surprised to be billed over $70. My husband and I have been loyal customers for years, but this experience has left us questioning our continued patronage. Thank you for addressing this issue promptly.

I have been a loyal customer of this Midas store for many years, bringing in my vehicles for repairs. Recently, I went in because my brake warning light came on. While I told the Manager the brakes felt normal, the Tech broke a lug stud and stripped another during the inspection. They wanted to charge me $[redacted].00 per stud for replacements. Later, I discovered the rear passenger rim cover was missing after leaving the shop, which the Tech admitted had broken and needed replacing. The Manager blamed the issues on the control arms previously replaced by a used car dealer, claiming it caused the damage. However, I felt mistreated as the customer dealing with the consequences. The whole experience left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.

I recently visited my neighborhood Midas location in West Hempstead, New York, for a standard oil change and filter replacement. After the service was done, I discovered that the oil cap was not properly secured to the manifold head, causing me to lose around 1 quart of oil. Thankfully, I caught this issue in time to prevent potential severe engine damage. Despite being a loyal customer to Midas for more than a decade and with two vehicles, the quality of service I received this time has left me considering finding a new place for my future oil changes and filter replacements.

I paid $[redacted] for upper and lower ball joints on both left and right sides of my Ford F250 less than 2 years ago and less than [redacted] miles. The vehicle failed its PA State Inspection recently and needed a new right side upper and lower ball joint to pass. I went back to the shop where the work was done and the manager had difficulty determining which side was previously repaired when I didn't have the receipt with me. However, upon finding the receipt at home, I saw that both sides were replaced at that shop in August of [redacted]. Since it's been less than 2 years and [redacted] miles, I believe Midas should stand by their work. I hope to connect to see if we can resolve this situation. Sincerely, William D. [redacted].

I visited the Midas at [redacted] Riverside Drive in Clarksville, TN for an oil change and the advertised free tire rotation. Despite requesting 5W-30 oil, I was informed my car requires full synthetic only, although the manual states otherwise. After a 40-minute wait, I paid and left, only to find out later that they used a synthetic blend against my repeated requests for conventional oil and did not rotate the tires. I would appreciate a prompt response to address this matter.

Three months ago, I visited my local Midas on Olden Avenue in Ewing, New Jersey, for an oil change that cost $40. They advised me to return within three weeks, but a week later, my oil level was low. When I returned, Pete and another employee mentioned a possible slow leak or high mileage causing the oil loss, charging me an additional $5 to refill it. On my next visit for an oil change and an estimate for other car issues, confusion arose when I was quoted $39.99 twice. Eventually, I was presented with an unexpected $[redacted] bill. Feeling overcharged and misled, I requested to speak to a manager, providing my contact details, but I have not received a response. When I called, I was told the manager was on vacation for two weeks. I seek clarification on the steep charges and wish to escalate my concerns to a higher authority to address the discrepancies in pricing. If possible, please contact me at [redacted] to resolve this issue.

For the past 12 years, I have been a loyal customer at the Midas located at [redacted] E Rand Rd in Arlington Hts. However, during a recent vacation, my son mistakenly filled the car with diesel, causing it to break down. After being quoted $[redacted] for repairs, the total eventually inflated to $3,[redacted] for fuel system replacements. Upon seeking a second opinion, I discovered the issue could have been resolved for $[redacted] by draining the tank. I opted for this cheaper repair at another shop, which successfully got my car back on the road for a total cost of $[redacted]. When I contacted the original Midas location, I was met with unhelpful responses from a new manager named Ray, who defended the excessive charges and denied any refund. Despite acknowledging the initial work done, I believe their lack of accountability and high costs for unnecessary services do not align with good customer service, especially for a long-standing client with multiple vehicles.

I encountered a problem with my truck and visited Midas for assistance. They diagnosed a faulty front driveshaft U joint and I authorized the replacement. Unfortunately, during the repair, the technician handled the new parts carelessly, causing damage. I reported this to the staff, but things went downhill afterward.
Despite filing a complaint via [redacted], no one followed up within the promised 72 hours. Months later, with the issue resurfacing, I revisited my usual auto shop where they identified the previous installation error. Repeated attempts to address this with the [redacted] number proved futile, as I was only assured of a callback that never happened and was left without a solution. The shop's unavailability and elusive manager added to the frustration.

On September 28, [redacted], after leaving my truck at the shop for an alignment, I discovered that my tools were missing when I tried to work on my other car. Despite inquiring with the manager and searching the shop, my tools valued at over $[redacted] were nowhere to be found. I am requesting to review the security footage to identify the individual responsible for taking my tools. In another unfortunate incident, I had to tow my car back to the shop today for the same gas line issue that I previously paid $[redacted] to have fixed. I am dissatisfied with having to pay for the same problem twice and believe the shop should have resolved it during my initial visit.

My van was damaged by the mechanic at Midas located on [redacted] North Foster Road on September 16, [redacted]. A repair order (#[redacted]) was issued, mentioning they would cover parts and labor costs for a crushed vent cover. I've been in communication with the manager, Mario Munoz, who informed me that the home office sent payment on September 27, [redacted]. However, as of October 3rd, I have not yet received this payment. Despite my situation, he has been avoiding assisting me. It is crucial for me to have my van repaired before my upcoming trip in two weeks.

I visited Midas at [redacted] Michigan Street in South Bend, IN on October 5 for car service. Prior, they informed me of an oil pan and timing belt cover gasket leak. Surprisingly, the inspection sheet I got was blank. I paid $[redacted] for unspecified "misc. labor," with no details on parts or labor provided. When I inquired about this, I was told no parts were used, hence the lack of details. Additionally, they suggested front brake repairs which a different mechanic later found unnecessary, noting the oil pan was still leaking. I am seeking a refund for the unperformed work and accountability for the misleading information given at the Midas shop.
