I recently received a suspicious email claiming my Geek Squad membership is up for renewal. The email provided a phone number to call for customer support and an order ID. The email mentions a renewal amount of $[redacted].99 for a 1-year membership. It states that the membership will auto-renew annually unless canceled 48 hours before the end of the term. I did not proceed with any downloads as requested over the phone to ensure my security. If you receive a similar email, be cautious and contact Geek Squad directly through their verified channels to address any concerns. Remember to validate the authenticity of any emails to avoid potential scams.

On 6/14/[redacted], an agent accessed my computer but did not follow up with a call. Afterward, I noticed unusual activity with the cursor moving on its own. I received messages prompting me to call a specified number, which froze my computer. Despite not falling for it, the messages persisted even after multiple reboots, requiring me to unplug the computer. While it seems to be functioning fine now, I am concerned about potential unauthorized access. I have always valued Geek Squad's service but this experience has given me doubts. If this continues, I may not renew my service. If you could reach out to me at [redacted], I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I bought a Toshiba Fire TV from Amazon last week, and it was delivered by Best Buy on Saturday. Unfortunately, the remote was missing. Amazon sent me an aftermarket remote which I've been trying to pair with the TV for two whole days and a part of the night. My solution: I think Best Buy should send a technician out to my home (TV is 55 inches) with the correct remote, so we can make sure my TV isn't just an expensive paperweight on my TV stand.

I am reaching out as I did not receive the 4-digit code to connect with you. Despite speaking with Geek Squad on 6/29 four times about my printer issue, I am still unable to print from my desktop computer. Geek Squad successfully printed a test page remotely, but I encounter an error message when attempting to print from my desktop. The error states the printer cannot start (even though it is on) and advises checking the printer configuration. I am still facing this issue today and require assistance. Without the 4-digit code, I am unsure how to proceed with connecting to resolve the problem.

I bought Webroot antivirus from Best Buy, but it wasn't installed by the installer who hasn't returned my calls. Has OneNote recently changed the format for date and time stamps? I want to change the network name for my new router. I need help creating a Guest account on my new PC. I want Microsoft Edge completely uninstalled or disabled. I know Microsoft wants to integrate it with the PC, but I found a command prompt to forcibly uninstall Edge. However, one folder requires admin permissions to delete. Even after attempting to uninstall, there are empty Edge icons remaining. My goal is to erase all traces of the Edge browser. Is there an online service where Geek Squad can remotely fix these issues?

I need assistance resolving a technical issue from my interaction with agt Nagaraju yesterday. The session did not fully resolve the connectivity problems between the IPs and the ethernet of my printer, an HP Envy Photo [redacted] from the [redacted] series. Despite reaching out to tech support today, I was informed there would be a charge for the service. I had already paid for services the day before and was assured the matter would be addressed. Following an email from the agent detailing his actions, I now seek a resolution to this ongoing issue. The session ID is cas-[redacted]-h7v0l3.

I received an email on July 15, [redacted] supposedly from Geek Squad Tech Support stating my annual subscription was auto-renewed for $[redacted], Invoice ID 67547R318045. I did not make this purchase, so I called the number provided to cancel. After speaking with a tech who asked for access to my computer, I realized something was off. They requested my banking information for a refund and insisted on accessing my online bank account, which I don't have. Despite my suspicions of a scam, they maintained it was legitimate and that the refund could only be processed online. I was confused about the conflicting amount of $[redacted] mentioned during the call. Unsure of how to proceed, I wondered if I should contact my bank or credit card company to look for the purported charge from GeekSquad.

I recently got a call from [redacted] claiming to be Geek Squad. They said that I was owed a refund of $[redacted].00 because I had paid GuruAid but didn't use their services. The caller mentioned that GuruAid and Geek Squad are now the same company. Although I had an account with GuruAid before, I find it unlikely that they would reach out to me for a refund due to non-usage. I believe someone might be using your company's name inappropriately. I just wanted to inform you about this. Feel free to handle this matter as you see fit; there's no need to contact me.

Since moving into my current residence, the once clear view from my east-facing windows of a nearby parking lot has been obstructed by the construction of an 8-story apartment complex. Previously, I could enjoy watching various channels with great clarity, but now, even with repositioning my indoor antenna, the reception is poor. I am seeking recommendations from the Geek Squad TV Services on the best indoor TV antenna suitable for low reception areas with high obstacles. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I recently received an email supposed to be from Geek Squad debiting my account. The email subject was "ORDER CONFIRMED" from Geek Squad. It states that $699USD has been debited from my account for their service. The email is signed by William Jonson and provides a toll-free number, +1-([redacted])-[redacted], for assistance. However, I have my doubts and believe it may be a scam. Can someone confirm if this is legitimate? Thank you. - George Growcott

I had a Geek Squad in-home appointment scheduled today under Order No. [redacted]5 for assistance with a TV volume issue after my home theater setup by Geek Squad last week. I got an email today saying the appointment needed rescheduling and to visit bestbuy.com/appointments. I'm struggling with the reschedule process for two reasons: the online system doesn't recognize my order number, name, address, or phone number, and calling the call center at [redacted] has led to being disconnected twice after being on hold for over an hour. Contacting you has been very challenging. Can someone please reach out to me to ensure I receive the service I paid for? Feel free to call me at [redacted].

I want to report that I received a suspicious email posing as Geek Squad with an invoice for Geek Squad Data Recovery services. The payment was to be made to "Geek Squad." The invoice listed the product code, amount, and tenure but no taxes were applied. It provided a contact number for billing queries and mentioned charges would be added to a monthly statement. The email address it came from seemed fake and I believe this is a scam. Please be aware and stay safe. Thank you.

I would like to schedule a reservation for the belated installation of automobile speakers I purchased last year at Best Buy in Waynesville, NC. Due to Covid-19, my March [redacted] installation appointment was postponed. I believe my order is still incomplete. My name is David Charlebois, and I bought a Pioneer DEH-S6200BS radio and Pioneer speakers. The radio has been installed, but there was an issue that delayed the speaker installation. My contact number is [redacted]. When the radio was installed, the technician accidentally disconnected my car's dash lights wiring. I have been managing without them, but I would appreciate it if the speaker installer could reattach the wiring for me. Thank you for your assistance.

I have noticed an unauthorized charge of $15.67 by Geek Squad on my August credit card statement. I never authorized automatic deductions and want them to stop immediately. I also wish to cancel the protection plan I unknowingly signed up for. Initially, I was under the impression it was a 3-month trial, but I do not want to continue with it. I have tried contacting Geek Squad through their phone and online chat, but no one responds, which is frustrating. It seems like they are avoiding cancellations. If this issue is not resolved in two weeks, I will consider taking this matter to the media. Thank you, B.G.

Hello, I had Geek Squad protection for my first phone purchased at Best Buy. Unfortunately, my Pixel 4a (5G) was damaged and stopped working the next day. Despite efforts to repair it, it couldn't be fixed, and I received an old used phone as a replacement. I've encountered several issues with this replacement phone, particularly with the screen, and other problems. I paid a $[redacted] service fee before sending back the broken phone. I have noticed that my Geek Squad coverage is now terminated, and I am dissatisfied with the overall service provided, especially the replacement phone. I am requesting a refund for the coverage and the $[redacted] service fee. I am disappointed with the service, and the replacement phone I received is not satisfactory. Please contact me at [redacted] or via email at [redacted] Thank you, NJ

Ticket ID: ESN6364 Hello, I contacted support due to system driver issues and printer problems. I was informed it would cost $69.99 for malware removal and system driver installation. However, the currency wasn't specified upfront, and only after the service did I realize it was in USD, not CAD as I am in Canada. The final cost of $92.07 CAD came as an unexpected additional $22.08 due to the currency difference, which was a bit distressing given our current financial situation. If I had known beforehand, I could have made an informed decision. Unfortunately, I ended up paying the amount after the service was completed without being given a choice in currency.
