I was surprised to find out my name was sent to Equifax due to a bill with Rogers, a company I have never been a customer of. I have recently returned to Canada after living abroad for 6 years. I've contacted Rogers to address this issue and I need my credit to be cleared. I have no knowledge of this situation and need it removed from my file. Additionally, I have a proposal that should have been removed from my credit report in [redacted] but is still showing up. I have a letter to submit to Equifax and Transunion to update my file. How can I go about getting this information to them and ensuring my file is corrected? Thank you.

I previously had an online account with Equifax, but I didn't pay the yearly fee so my account was closed. I attempted to reopen my account but encountered system issues. When I contacted customer service, they couldn't discuss my file due to a lock preventing access. I questioned how they had information on my creditors since I was only aware of my federal OSAP portion being on the file. Customer service couldn't offer a solution, leaving me uncertain. I recall having identity theft protection when I was a client, but now they claim they can't assist. I'm concerned about potential identity theft and wonder if they are avoiding helping me to avoid possible payouts.

I would like to file a complaint about the service I received from Equifax regarding my mortgage application. I contacted them for verification purposes, as advised by my lenders, but the employees have been unhelpful, causing delays and potential homelessness. The individual named Xander has been dishonest and failed to follow up as promised, despite multiple attempts. I submitted my identification documents, including my SIN verification, but have not received confirmation after a week. I am distraught as Equifax is the only obstacle to my mortgage approval. The lack of professionalism and empathy from their staff is concerning, as they hold the key to my financial security. I feel helpless and frustrated by their poor service. I seek urgent assistance to update my phone number and resolve this issue promptly.

I visited the nearest Best Buy store to sign up for a phone contract with Telus. After initially getting approved, I decided to take some time to think it over. Two hours later, I returned to complete the process, but this time I was informed that my credit application was declined. The agent contacted Telus, and they explained that my credit was locked or frozen, advising me to contact Equifax to unfreeze it. Now, I am unable to be reached by my child's school. I need to unlock my credit so I can proceed with the approved deal as originally planned.

I recently paid off my Capital One credit card and am trying to close it. Unfortunately, Capital One (Canada) is not allowing me to do so because I am hearing impaired. I have provided medical records to them, but they are ignoring my requests. They continue to charge interest on a card with a 0 balance. I do not want to keep this card, but they are not accommodating my disability. It is unfair and discriminatory treatment. I want this card closed, but they insist I call them, which is impossible for me due to my condition. I refuse to put my health at risk just to contact them. This situation is unacceptable, and I feel like they are intentionally disregarding my needs. I want to close this card immediately as I owe nothing on it. Capital One's dismissive behavior and refusal to help are causing unnecessary distress.

I had a cell phone account with PC Mobile (Telus) that included an iPhone. After switching providers in June, I paid off my account and went on a trip to Oregon. Upon returning, I received unexpected bills from PC Mobile. After inquiring, they explained that I owed $68.19 for a billing period that crossed over when I settled my account. Despite immediately paying the balance and providing a receipt, this has affected my credit rating. PC Mobile acknowledged the error and apologized, stating that the reports are automated and do not consider travel out of the country. It doesn't seem fair that a $68.19 misunderstanding has impacted my creditworthiness after diligently managing bills for over 45 years. Bogus

Hello,
My name is Karen François. I have been trying unsuccessfully to reach you at [redacted]. I am writing to inform you that I have been a victim of identity theft. Someone opened an account in my name at CIBC bank. Since I do not have an account with them, I never opened their mail, thinking it was just solicitation letters. On May 14, [redacted], my husband informed me that I have a personal checking account: [redacted]/78-[redacted] with an outstanding balance of $[redacted]. I called CIBC, explained the situation, and they blocked the account. They advised me to inform you of the situation and also recommended leaving my phone number for you to contact me in case someone tries to use my name. My phone number is [redacted].
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

My name is Ricardo Arevalo, and I reside at 60 Rose Valley Way. I recently discovered two claims from Rogers on my credit report. I am concerned about why the same issue was charged twice after I had multiple discussions with Rogers to resolve it. Initially, they offered me a free cell phone, but then began billing me for it. I promptly returned the phone, but they continued to charge me. This situation has now affected my credit score. I would appreciate your assistance in addressing this matter. You can reach me at my home phone [redacted] or my cell [redacted]. Given that my service is with Rogers, I am puzzled why they are providing me service if I owe them money. I am hoping for a resolution. Thank you, Ricardo Arevalo.

I have fully settled a judgment on my credit report and am kindly requesting its removal. I am eager to expedite this process as it greatly impacts my financial well-being. The judgment resulted from unfortunate circumstances involving my husband's fraudulent activities, which forced me to relinquish assets such as my home and our son's education fund. Even though the debt was handled by a collection agency, Genworth showed understanding and accepted my payment in full. I fervently implore your assistance in swiftly removing this mark from my report to restore my creditworthiness. I am prepared to provide any necessary documentation to support my request. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration. Warm regards, Judy Sheen (formerly Hutton).

Hello, my name is Shirley Marie Legault. I recently checked my credit score and it shows as [redacted], which I consider to be excellent. However, I am curious as to why it is not higher and how I can increase it. Credit score is of great importance to me.
I have been a customer of CIBC for around 35 years and have a good track record of paying my bills and credit cards on time. I often pay more than the minimum or even the full amount. While I reduced my credit limit a few years ago, I recently increased it due to some unexpected emergencies. I am eager to receive your feedback on this matter. Thank you very much.

Hello,
On July 25th, I received an email regarding my new membership to your web service. I never signed up for this service. I followed the email instructions to reset the password, thinking it was an automated process following the data breach issues at Desjardins.
It turns out the account belongs to someone with a similar name and email address to mine. Considering recent security concerns reported in the press, I believe it would not reflect well on your company if I were to report this to a journalist. How would your company's handling of such sensitive information be perceived?
I am open to discussing a resolution to maintain silence on this matter. I have screenshots to support my claims. If you wish to contact me, please call me at [redacted].
I await your response by the end of the day. Otherwise, I will consider approaching the media.
Thank you,
Shoveltier

I've had frustrating experiences with Get Human service, as they failed to connect me to a representative despite multiple attempts. When reaching out to Equifax for assistance, I resorted to finding a phone number online and bypassing their automated system to speak with someone.
On August 27, [redacted], I signed up for Equifax Complete Premier for $5, with subsequent payments of $20 per month due after a month. However, just 7 days later on September 3, [redacted], they charged me $20 prematurely. I am requesting a refund of the second $20 charge.
During a call, I encountered difficulties communicating with "Lucy" from Equifax. Despite explaining a mix-up in my account with another individual's information, she created a new account without investigating further. This has caused concerns about the security of my personal data. Fortunately, on September 16th, after being double charged and having my account canceled, they refunded the extra payment.
Thank you,
Trae K.

I began financing a vehicle in February [redacted], but lost my job in May. In early June, I damaged my transmission on a pothole, rendering the car undriveable. I contacted an agent at Intact to switch my insurance to parked status, and was quoted $26-28 monthly until the car was fixed. However, at the end of July, a $[redacted].58 annual payment was attempted, causing a failed withdrawal due to insufficient funds. When I inquired, I was informed this was the only option for parked status, contrary to what I was initially told. Now that my car is repaired, I need insurance, but they still require the annual payment. I'm eager to rectify this situation for my credit report’s sake.

For the past three days, I've been attempting to cancel a service, but the online cancel feature has been removed. I keep receiving secure browsing alerts preventing me from visiting equifax.ca due to improper site configuration and potential data compromise. Everything seems to be malfunctioning, from continuous sales pitches over the phone to non-functional functions like call backs. None of my emails or cases have received any responses. It's frustrating to deal with a personal credit report that requires divulging personal information just to make corrections. It's been a complete mess trying to resolve this issue.

My husband and I were supposed to close on our house today, but encountered a problem. My husband shares the same name as his late father, who had a bankruptcy history with RECA years ago. This mix-up is now affecting my husband's credit as they have the same name and address. Despite the discrepancy in birthdates, Equifax linked the incorrect information to my husband. I have contacted RECA, and they are willing to provide a letter to rectify the situation. I urgently need to speak to a real person to resolve this issue promptly as we have already made arrangements to move and are now facing credit troubles. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

On June 2nd, I received an email indicating that I am unable to dispute an item on my credit report after your 24-hour investigation concluded it was accurate. I find it concerning that someone could access credit using another individual's account. After discussing the matter with Metcredit and Rogers Wireless, Rogers Wireless has agreed to remove the item from my credit report, yet you are reluctant to do so. I kindly request that you remove Rogers Wireless #[redacted] from my account as it is not mine. My SIN is [redacted]-[redacted]-[redacted]. I reside at [redacted]-[redacted] Hoylake Ave, Victoria BC V9B 0S5. It appears that Equifax has been reported to do this to others, and unfortunately, I am now experiencing it. Please rectify this issue promptly. Thank you, Dorothy Gibas.

I am Member #471VC00109. I noticed a judgment on my credit report for $[redacted],[redacted] related to a mortgage from [redacted]. I cleared all arrears soon after the judgment and currently maintain a good standing with the same lender. I am seeking guidance on having this judgment removed from my credit report. My lender is requesting information from Equifax on the steps needed for removal, but I have not been able to get a clear answer. They specifically need this information in writing. Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

I recently ordered a credit report for house rental applications and found that the Equifax report I received is outdated. It only shows information from [redacted]. My work history since then, starting from [redacted] until now, has not been updated. Additionally, it lists my address as being in Hamilton, Ontario, from [redacted], and categorizes me as a "housewife" when I have been working as an elementary teacher since [redacted], teaching overseas until June [redacted] and then in Ontario since November [redacted], at Goodlife Fitness and Frontenac Club Daycare Centre.
I want to update this information to have a more accurate report and potentially improve my credit rating to reflect my responsible credit card usage. How can I go about updating my details with Equifax to ensure my report is up to date?

I discovered recurring charges from a closed Telus Mobility account from [redacted] when I applied for a loan. My bank informed me of delinquent payments linked to Telus on my Equifax report, showing a $7 charge. Despite never being notified about this charge, Telus claimed they tried to contact me in August [redacted], using an old home phone number that I no longer use. Since then, I haven't received any other notification through email, phone call, or collection notice. After speaking with a Telus representative, they assured me the payment was received, and they have sent a report to Equifax to correct the delinquent charges. I just want to confirm that Equifax has received the updated report from Telus.
