The shelves were completely empty, making it difficult to navigate due to large metal carts blocking the aisles with empty boxes, creating a messy and disorganized store. While trying to access the aisle with charcoal and grill lighters, an employee rudely prevented me, stating those items were deemed non-essential. This encounter left me feeling frustrated as I did not expect a store to dictate what I can purchase. The attitude of the employee was exceptionally poor, leading me to decide never to return. I have taken to social media to share my experience, knowing that in a small community, word spreads quickly. Unfortunately, the reputation of this store is not favorable among many locals due to similar incidents.

I want to share my concerns about the delivery drivers at the North Tonawanda, NY store located at [redacted] Twin City Highway, [redacted]. In the past 5 years, there have been numerous incidents where drivers have hit the telephone pole behind the store and the fire hydrant, causing disruptions and safety hazards to the community. Just yesterday, there was another incident where the pole had to be replaced by employees from National Grid, the power supplier. Additionally, yesterday a driver blocked Fassett Street while making a delivery, creating a safety hazard. It is imperative that these issues are addressed promptly to ensure the safety of both the community and the employees. I urge the company to provide better training and supervision for the drivers at this location before any legal action needs to be taken. Thank you.

Upon checking my receipt, I discovered a $40 overcharge on clearance items. When approaching a staff member for assistance, they called the manager, Lynn. During the interaction, Lynn offered disinfectant wipes to a friend, stating one was for them and one for their mother, while declining to sell me a pack as they were being saved for senior citizens. Despite being 53 with health issues and not qualifying as a senior, I did not engage further. Witnessing a similar situation with another customer over the phone, I found Lynn's conduct unprofessional and unjust. I attempted to address the matter with corporate but struggled to connect. As a loyal Dollar General shopper, I frequent the store weekly and spend generously, yet this experience has left me hesitant to return to the Temperance, Michigan location on [redacted] Lewis Ave. Lynn's behavior and the overall service at this store, including the discourteous cashier, have soured my shopping experience. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Barbie C.

I visited store # [redacted] in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, where a long line had formed due to only one cashier working. Concerned for safety during the pandemic, I asked why only one cashier was on duty. The cashier mentioned helping a customer with a coupon. In my opinion, during a pandemic, ensuring safe and timely checkout should be the priority. The store manager, Taylor, on duty on 5-4-[redacted], seemed to overlook customer safety that night. This experience has led me to decide not to visit any Dollar General store in the future. Customer well-being was not a focus during my visit at 6:55 pm.

I, T. C., received two out of my three Dollar General orders today, May 6, [redacted]. Unfortunately, order #[redacted]69 arrived in dreadful condition. All the items were packed in one box which was soaked. The fabric refresher in a pump spray bottle was not secured and leaked in the box. The bag holding it along with three large cans of air freshener had one can break through and tear the bottom of the bag. This is the second time I'm facing such damage with my orders making the items like oatmeal, fabric band-aids, cereal, and cat treats fall apart. Despite being a regular customer spending over $[redacted] per order plus shipping fees, the unacceptable condition of the deliveries is frustrating. I have contacted Dollar General multiple times about this issue while my orders from other online stores like Sam's Club, Walmart.com, Harbor Freight, and Chewy.com arrive intact and without any problems, despite offering free shipping.

On May 8th, around 7pm at the Swissvale branch on Church Street, there was an incident with a young lady employee who displayed unhelpful behavior towards her coworker and customers when the line was very long. Despite trying to assist, she continued mopping and was impolite when she eventually came to the front, causing frustration. In contrast, Kashawn, another employee, handled the situation impressively by maintaining composure, working efficiently, and providing excellent customer service despite the challenging circumstances. His professionalism and dedication were greatly appreciated.

I purchased a $15 swimming pool from a store in the Crawford area on Highway 80. When I opened the box, I found it covered in dirt, mud, and leaves. It seems like someone returned it without the store inspecting it properly. I just want to exchange it for one that is unused and undamaged. My wife can't find the receipt, but I have pictures and a video showing the condition of the pool. I'm not seeking a refund, just a replacement. Should I return it to the original store, or is it possible to exchange it at a store closer to my home, on Highway 80 in Ladonia instead of Crawford?

I am a loyal customer of your new Dollar General store. On my recent visit to store#[redacted] in Vinemont, AL, I purchased various items including drinks, flour, pudding mix, and canned goods, totaling $34.94. However, after leaving the store, I received a call accusing me of theft by an employee, which deeply upset me. I am a 36-year-old with no criminal record, and the accusation feels unjustified. I believe the manager is targeting me unfairly due to personal reasons, as I have faced rudeness from them in the past. I plan to seek legal counsel to address this situation, as my reputation has been tarnished. I urge you to review the security footage to see that I am innocent of the alleged theft. I take this matter very seriously and will not rest until my name is cleared.

I would like to file a complaint regarding the store manager at store number [redacted] in Philadelphia. The manager is a male of African American descent, approximately in his mid-20s. During my recent visit with my wife to return an item, I inadvertently forgot my mask. The manager reacted aggressively, using inappropriate language and threatening to involve the authorities if we didn't leave. After returning with our masks, we were met with further hostility. Despite waiting at the counter for over 10 minutes, the manager refused to serve us and insisted we leave the store. This incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. at the store on 48th and Brown Street. The behavior displayed towards us by the manager was unacceptable and has left us feeling mistreated.

I would like to address an issue I encountered at the store involving the store manager, named LIRA, who displayed racist behavior towards two employees, Christian Rodriguez and Pedro, in front of customers. LIRA insisted that speaking Spanish in the store was not allowed, despite my role as an assistant store manager. This is not the first time such behavior has occurred, as another customer mentioned experiencing similar treatment. I've had numerous complaints about LIRA, including not intervening during altercations and frequently leaving me to close the store alone. Many employees have quit due to her actions. As I may not be fluent in English, I request action be taken regarding LIRA's behavior. If not addressed, I will pursue legal action for compensation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I would like to report an issue with the discount I was supposed to receive on beach flip flops and beach mats. Despite the signs stating a 30% discount, it was not applied when my items were rung up. The cashier mentioned the discount only applied to "yellow dot" items and was for employees. After some confusion with entering phone numbers and a manager getting involved, the situation was still not resolved properly. The manager, Rohan, seemed dismissive and did not provide a clear explanation, even when the discount was supposedly applied. I am requesting the correct discount be given and an apology for the manager's rudeness in handling the situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - Wendy

I encountered an issue at a store in Columbus, Mississippi today (6/25/20). The lady responsible for cleaning the carts didn't properly disinfect them. Disinfecting requires taking them apart and spraying each part, rather than just spraying into the air and hoping it lands in the right places on the carts. After the improper cleaning, a wise lady used one of the carts to shop. I considered posting about this on Facebook with a photo but decided against it to prevent spreading problems further. Given the current situation with COVID-19, proper cleaning and disinfecting are crucial. My husband frequently shops at this store, so this experience makes me hesitant to return. It's vital for your team to be educated on the correct cleaning procedures to ensure the safety of all customers, especially those with weaker immune systems like myself. Thank you for addressing this issue promptly.

I am really frustrated. I shop at Dollar General about three times a week, and make a big order every Saturday at the store on Main Street in Grove City [redacted], which is just half a mile away. For the past three Saturdays, when I bring in my coupon that says if you spend over $25 you get $5 off, they tell me it won't scan and I end up not getting the discount. I don't have a smartphone to do it another way. I've missed out on $15 because of this false advertising. I've never had this issue at the Dollar General on West Main or in Harrisville, only at the one on East Main Street. This might make me stop shopping there and I will be sure to warn others. Another customer had the same problem and tried to talk to me in the parking lot. I wish I had gotten her name. This is unacceptable.

I am a frequent shopper at Store #[redacted], just 4 minutes from my home. However, due to the poor customer service, I prefer to drive across town to Wal-Mart. Often, the staff, including the manager, are outside chatting or smoking. It seems like Dollar General should have a better break schedule to avoid everyone being on break simultaneously. Today, I experienced an employee on their cell phone who didn't greet me or provide me with my total, appearing disinterested in helping. It was disappointing, especially if this person was a supervisor. I value good service and expect at least some acknowledgment when I shop. I hope the situation at the store improves because I don't want to continue wasting gas driving elsewhere due to poor service habits.

Yesterday, I visited Dollar General to pick up a Western Union money transfer. Melissa informed me that they do not handle cash transactions and suggested using the Dollar General app. Despite explaining that I had checked the Western Union app and the transfer was ready - a refund from Western Union - Melissa and another employee, possibly a manager, advised me to go to Walmart, Meijer, or the neighboring Family Dollar. After reviewing the Dollar General website and finding no indication of needing to log in, I reached out to Western Union. They assured me that there should be no issue and recommended asking the employee to call them. Upon returning to the store and asking Melissa again for the transfer, she stated she could not process a refund. Even though it was a refund, not a typical transfer, she mentioned she did not have the $[redacted] cash. Both interactions were polite, and seeing that the store was not busy with no other customers in line, I left with plans to contact Dollar General regarding the matter.

I live near five Dollar General locations in zip code [redacted], but none of these stores have adequate WiFi for customers to scan digital coupons. When I ask store employees for help, I receive vague responses. How can these stores operate without WiFi for basic functions like cash registers? It's frustrating that customers are unable to utilize savings opportunities. Despite being well-stocked, the lack of WiFi seems intentional. I am disappointed and will share my negative experience with others. It's disheartening, especially now. Regards, Tammy B.

I visited the Dollar General store on Gladiolus near Winkler, closest to my home on 6 Mile Commercial Blvd. I purchased onion rings chips, a 15-watt light bulb, a dollar bag of Snickers with almonds, peppermint patties, and Hershey cups about a month ago on a Saturday. The cashier, an older frail lady, was assisted by a dark lady with long, thick black braids. Despite greeting them, I forgot to bring my food items home. After noticing only the light bulb made it back, I called the store immediately. The lady with the long braids insisted she didn't have my candy, which I found very rude, so I asked her to double-check.

I recently visited Dollar General to make a purchase. Upon reaching the register, I informed the cashier, who turned out to be the manager, that some items were to be rung up separately. As I handed her the items, I noticed she was snatching them from my hand. When I kindly asked her not to do so, she became defensive and started ranting. Despite my attempts to defuse the situation, she asked me to leave the store, claiming she wouldn't serve me. Feeling embarrassed and disrespected, I left. I have been a part of this community for over a decade and have never faced such treatment. It was disappointing to see her also ask some kids to leave after me. I hope the issue can be addressed promptly.

On 09/26/[redacted] at around 2:50pm EST, I visited store #[redacted] and encountered an issue with the clearance pricing not being honored by the cashier, Kim, and an older female manager. Two signs were displayed in the clearance section with specific discount information. The first sign detailed a 50% off clearance event from Sept. 25-27 on various items, while the second sign indicated a 60% discount on clothes from a specific rack. I attempted to purchase two items that were clearly part of the clearance, but the final prices did not reflect the discounts stated on the signs. The cashier and manager were unhelpful and only offered a partial discount on one item. Their attitude was disrespectful and unprofessional, leaving me dissatisfied with the service. I seek contact information for Dollar General representatives to address this issue and ensure proper training for store employees regarding honoring promotions and customer interactions. I believe in maintaining high customer service standards, as I was a manager at a competitor for over five years. Thank you, Kara T. My husband visited Dollar General on Saturday, 9/26/20, to purchase a phone on sale for $49 with a required minimum $40 card. Unfortunately, he did not receive the $40 airtime card with his phone purchase. When he contacted Verizon, they advised him to return to the store for the airtime card. Upon his return, the store staff mentioned he should have brought the prepaid card to the counter during the sale. The promotional sale for the phones has been running from July 19th to October 13th. Despite his payment, he was charged for the phone without receiving the airtime. There was confusion as the advertisement did not specify the need to bring the $40 card to the counter during the purchase. This incident occurred at the store in Tennage, GA.
