I have had to replace 29-30 hard drives in the past eight years, and in just the last two years, I had to replace 5 or 6 modem/routers. Recently, someone hacked my computer and saved things that I did not authorize. Even passwords that I knew were correct would come back unrecognized. My computer has saved most of my passwords, and I suspect a security breach. I am concerned about my health records being saved without my consent. I have noticed suspicious network activity and issues loading certain pages on my computer, affecting my access to my Insurance Company's website. Does AOL have a security breach department? I have contacted them multiple times but need to report this breach to the authorities. I live in a skilled nursing home and am worried about my cybersecurity. Can anyone recommend a forensic computer company to handle this serious breach? Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you, JG.

I have a strange situation. I cannot remember my password. I can answer all the security questions such as the high school I attended (Plainedge High) and my favorite place (Hawaii). The issue is that I changed my first and last name as a joke some time ago and never changed it back. I made the first name a woman's name and can't recall the last name, not realizing its significance. I am the original account holder from when AOL first started. I've asked for support to verify me from the beginning. My username is jjj, Joseph Ruvio is my last name, and [redacted] is my date of birth (January 15, [redacted]). Please help. You can reach me at [redacted]

Every other day, I encounter an issue with my Office 16 Outlook when trying to access my Verizon email account. The emails don't download properly. I found a temporary workaround by accessing my AOL email directly before pressing send/receive in Outlook, which seems to trigger the download. Despite having the correct settings and ports for my Verizon.net email (which has a different SMTP from AOL), the problem persists. During a tech support session with AOL, attempts were made to resolve another connection issue, causing multiple backups of Outlook data under my user ID. Now, my emails and contacts are split across different sets of data, requiring manual switching between them. How can I resolve this issue and consolidate my email and contacts data back together in Outlook?

After successfully changing my password on my PC and laptop, I encountered issues when inputting it on my iPad and iPhone. An error message stating "The username or password for imap.aol.com is incorrect" keeps appearing, preventing me from accessing my emails on both devices. Despite attempting to delete and re-add the account on my phone and iPad, the problem persists. This situation is incredibly frustrating as I have regularly updated my password without any trouble until now. Even after seeking assistance from Apple, their suggested solutions have not resolved the issue. I urgently need help to rectify this problem as it is causing me a significant amount of distress. Thank you, Joyce.

On Sunday, September 9th, I was organizing my email by sender, but encountered an issue where most of my emails disappeared except for the specific sender I was viewing. When I tried to delete emails in batches by selecting the sender and hitting delete, it would only delete a few at a time. However, after a while, all emails vanished except the current sender and my Sent folder. My account is functional, and I am getting new emails, but the older ones are vanishing.

AOL keeps displaying rotating ads on top of articles without allowing me to remove them. I am not interested in paying for a service full of advertisements. I will attach some examples to show what I mean. The previous feedback I gave was met with a disappointing response featuring random advancement bars. The last article I read had a persistent square ad cycling at the bottom, covering important content without an option to remove it, forcing me to look elsewhere for news. I will provide snippets from the Terms of Service to illustrate this issue. This frustrating experience is pushing me to find a different source for my news. - RBE

I was recently contacted by someone named Dave from Texas, who claimed that my AOL account was compromised by hackers sending messages to Germany and Russia. He insisted on accessing my computer remotely to remove the threat. After spending almost two hours on the phone, he offered a fix for $[redacted], which he later reduced to $[redacted]. Sensing a scam, I declined and confronted him. He seemed offended. I now fear that my information might be compromised. I have a phone number and noticed that a program starting with .exe was installed on my computer. The individual was able to view my screen and guide me through the program. Can anyone advise on what steps I should take next to secure my information?

I am having trouble accessing my AOL account because all the information on my phone got unsynced, and I can't recall my password. Despite multiple attempts, I can't seem to remember it due to using the auto-login feature for a while. I also can't access the alternative email associated with the account because I haven't used it in years. This has now locked me out of my social media accounts. I kindly request assistance from AOL in recovering access to my email account, registered under [redacted] Your help in resetting the password would be greatly appreciated as I have exhausted all my options. Thank you.

I have tried a few of your free trial programs, but discontinued them about a month later. Despite notifying you, I noticed three unauthorized transactions on my recent bank statement. On 8/30, there was a charge of 3.99 for FS Support, on 8/29, a charge of 4.99 for FS Systems, and another charge of 4.99 for UD Vault on 8/30. None of these were authorized by me. I have already changed my bank access to prevent any further charges. I made it clear before that I did not want these programs, and I do not intend to try any more offers in the future. Just because I do not pay for my account, it does not give you the right to access my bank without my permission.

Following a recent AT&T internet outage during a hurricane, my AOL email account has inexplicably created duplicate folders prefixed with my email address "[redacted]" followed by phrases like 'spring [redacted]' or 'kreshon Mexico pics'. These folders are exact duplicates of my original folders. Despite multiple attempts to delete them, I receive error messages stating that the mail server cannot locate them for deletion. These duplicated folders are visible both in Thunderbird and directly on the AOL Mail website. I have tried unsubscribing in Thunderbird to hide them, but they persist in my AOL account. I have also tried deleting the messages within these duplicate folders individually, but the issue persists. The duplicate folders seem to reappear each time I attempt to remove them, creating endless copies of themselves. Assistance to resolve this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I have been using the same password for a long time. Each time I try to sign in, it prompts me to reset my password as if I've forgotten it. Even when I re-enter the same password, this cycle continues. I know the password I used as I logged in successfully yesterday. Today, it's asking me to sign in again and claiming I've forgotten my password. I prefer not to keep changing my password and typically use the same one for all my sign-ins. Why am I suddenly experiencing this issue now? How can I provide my email address when I can't sign in? I want to avoid changing my password. Could you inform me of the current password associated with my AOL account? My email is [redacted] and my phone number is [redacted]. Thank you. Michael E.

I recently received an alarming email claiming my device has been hacked with a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) installed. The email states that personal information has been compromised and threatens to share embarrassing videos unless a ransom in Bitcoin is paid. The message tries to create panic and demands a quick response. It is important not to engage with the sender, remain calm, and avoid clicking on any links or attachments in the email. Such threats are often fraudulent attempts to extort money. To protect against this type of threat, ensure all your devices have updated security software installed, use complex and unique passwords for each account, enable two-factor authentication where possible, be cautious of unsolicited emails or messages, and avoid visiting suspicious websites. It is advisable to report such emails to your email provider and local authorities. Stay vigilant and remember to keep personal information secure to minimize potential risks.

Hello, I am Matt Emery, the new IT Administrator at the Quechee Club in Quechee, VT. The Club partners with NorthStar, a Club Management Company, who provides the programs for club and member management. We use SendGrid for email management through NorthStar. Previously, an issue arose where AOL users who unsubscribed were still receiving emails, causing AOL to mark our emails as spam. However, I am pleased to report that NorthStar has resolved this problem, ensuring that unsubscribed members do not receive emails. Nonetheless, there are still AOL users who wish to receive emails, particularly concerning their billing. I am seeking assistance to remove Quechee Club from the spam list so members can resume receiving emails without issues. Thank you for your support in addressing this matter. - Matt Emery IT Administrator Quechee Club

On Tuesday, November 14, [redacted], I noticed that all my AOL email addresses received a suspicious email supposedly from Paula about a Google Drive message. The email contained a link to a website called properpatolla.com, which I did not recognize. I use an iPhone 7, a Vista computer with AOL Shield, and an iPad with an AOL account, but I do not have Google Drive. Many people from my AOL contacts informed me of receiving emails they thought were from me, but I did not send them. As a precaution, I have changed my password on AOL. I am concerned that my account may have been hacked. I am seeking advice on how to protect my AOL emails. Should I consider canceling my AOL account for safety? I am uncertain what AOL can do to enhance my security. Thank you.

I am experiencing difficulty sending and receiving emails. I have dedicated many hours to reaching out to the AOL helpline. A kind representative made a sincere effort to address the issue, which pertains to resetting the password. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete the process, ultimately transferring me to technical support after a considerable amount of time. The tech support individual proceeded to ask repetitive questions that I had already answered at length both today and Friday night, which was handled by a different person at that time. This situation is turning into a nightmarish experience. The tech support personnel displayed no empathy for my concerns and abruptly terminated the call! As longstanding AOL customers and senior citizens, my wife and I feel disregarded by the millennial staff at AOL. I rely on my AOL account for personal and business purposes. It is my hope that someone can provide assistance without the need for legal involvement. -L.W.

I am experiencing issues in the Chatroom related to discussions about "Donald Trump's Presidency and how he shapes America's future." There is a user named "Stacy Gearlou," but there are suspicions that they also use the screen name "Doug Vernon." This individual uses profanity, racist terms, and hate speech, including insults towards women. I find this behavior unacceptable and request that this person be permanently banned from the Donald Trump Chatroom. Despite my attempts to contact "Delphi" for moderation, no action has been taken. The conduct of this individual is offensive and unnecessary, solely aimed at provoking others in the chatroom. I urge for the removal and banning of this user. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Richard Malcolm. I have a new phone and need to set up my email account, but I can't remember my password. The issue is I can't reset it because the reset email goes to my old work email, which is no longer active. My AOL account email is [redacted], and the current linked email, [redacted], is invalid. Could you please forward the reset email to my wife's email, [redacted]? I need to change my password, update my details, and set up emails on my new phone. I submitted a form three weeks ago asking for contact on my email, but if needed, contacting my wife's email is acceptable. Please help me resolve this, as I've used this email account for about 15-16 years and wish to keep it without setting up a new one due to a forgotten password. Thank you. Richard Malcolm

AOL has become too expensive for me as an Arizona widow. A few months ago, I spoke with a representative who was difficult to understand. I repeatedly asked to stop the current program or to cancel it if necessary. I struggled to comprehend the offers she presented, and she seemed unsure as well. After being charged $41 and seeing more AOL email riders, I feel compelled to consider switching to my Gmail account after years of loyalty to AOL. I hope to find someone who can communicate clearly with me. As a long-time member, I'm looking for a reason to continue with AOL. Sally K., 72.

This email is to inform you that your account has been compromised by a hacker. It seems that malware was used to obtain full access to your device. The individual claims to have been monitoring you for quite some time. They are threatening to distribute sensitive information and videos unless a payment of $[redacted] is made to a Bitcoin address within 48 hours. This person assures that the actions cannot be tracked and warns against sharing this message with others.
