With Verizon, you can upgrade to a new device at any time by purchasing the new phone at the retail price. However, if you wish to upgrade while you're on a monthly payment plan, you will need to be eligible for an upgrade.

Check Your Upgrade Eligibility

  1. Go to https://login.verizonwireless.com/
  2. Sign in to your account with your mobile number and user ID and password. Click on ‘Sign In.'
  3. Go to ‘My Devices.'
  4. If your device is labeled ‘Upgrade eligible,' you can upgrade that device at any time.
  5. If you don't see that your device is eligible, you can find out at what date the device will be eligible. Click on the device you want to upgrade. Select the ‘Check Upgrade Options' button and the eligibility date will appear.

Upgrade Your Device Online and Keep Your Plan

  1. If you've checked your device and are eligible for an upgrade, you can proceed with the upgrade process online.
  2. Go to https://login.verizonwireless.com/
  3. Sign in to your account with your mobile number and user ID and password. Click on ‘Sign In.'
  4. Go to the ‘Upgrade Device' page.
  5. Select the device you want to upgrade and click ‘Continue.'
  6. Choose the new device you want to purchase.
  7. Choose the color and storage capabilities for the device, and click ‘Next Step.'
  8. Review all the details of your order and select ‘Continue.'
