How Can I Lower or Monitor My Verizon Bill

When not keenly checked, phone bills could cost you a fortune at Verizon. It is therefore essential to learn how you can lower or monitor your Verizon bill.

For a long time, my phone bills were quite expensive until I decided to come up with a few methods to lower the bills which I will share in this article. I will also share information on how you can monitor your bills.

Lowering the Verizon Bills

Here is a list of things you can do to reduce the amount of money billed to you for your phone subscription.

1. Pick an Affordable Package

You can consult the service providers on the available plan one can choose from. To make the right decision on the plan, first, review your past usage. From this, you will get the average usage over a certain period, and it will help you determine the right plan for your use

There are the unlimited data, calls and text plans, which are okay, but you will find out that you don't need al that by looking at your previous records.

Choosing a plan based on your past usage is more accurate and much cheaper as compared to selecting unlimited plans.

2. Skip Insurance

Verizon offers great insurance deals. However, they may not be worth it. It costs you $11.00 monthly and an extra $50- $200 depending on the type of phone to get an insurance cover from Verizon.

It is advisable that you take care of your phone rather than spending a lot of money to get an insurance cover, which you might even use.

Processing for the insurance to pay for a damaged device also requires your money, hence very unaffordable.

3. Family plans

Take advantage of the family plans to get as many numbers as possible to use the same plan. This will help you reduce the price of each phone in the plan. You can opt to share the expenses with family members or friends.

4. Data limit

The plans come with a data limit, and you should be keen on those. Verizon for, instance, charges very significant amounts when you go past your data limit.

If you find that you are going over the limit, you would instead choose the unlimited plan to avoid the extra charges.

5. Monitor your data usage

Come up with ways of saving your data. For instance, you can opt to download and stream while using free Wi-Fi instead of data.

If you have low data consumption, the plan you choose will be much cheaper than before.

6. Discounts

When choosing a data plan, look out for those with discounts. They give you the same package at reduced prices hence affordable and save your money.

You can contact the Verizon sales team to get better deals at lower prices. If your prompt them to cut off some services, they will come up with a counteroffer as a strategy to keep you subscribed.

Monitoring Verizon Bill

On Verizon, there are several ways in which you can keep track of your phone usage. These are:

1. Usage Alerts

You can set up these alerts online, and you can get the alerts on text message on your phone. You can opt to receive the alerts after a particular time; weekly or monthly.

2. My Verizon Usage Meters

This is a web service by Verizon to help you keep a record of your usage. You log in online to get the usage information.

3. Data Utilization Tool

This monitors the usage of data on your phone and gives you a detailed report.

4. Verizon Smart Family and Verizon Smart Family Premium

These services help you monitor data, calls and texts usage and set limits. To set up these monitors, get in touch with Verizon customer support teams.
