Truist is known for its excellent online banking platform, offering customers a seamless bill payment experience. Adding a new payee is a crucial part of this process, and knowing the correct steps to follow is essential to ensure accurate payment. Adding a new payee to Truist is straightforward and can be done in the following easy steps.

You can add a bill payee to your Truist account using these steps:

1.  Log in to Truist Online Banking

The first step to setting up a new payee in Truist is to log in to your online banking account. The Truist money account gives you access to debit card privileges without a bank account. Truist offers personal and business online banking options, so choose the correct one for your account. Once you have entered your login credentials, you will be directed to your account dashboard.

2.  Navigate to the Bill Pay section

After logging in, you need to navigate to the Bill Pay section of your Truist account. This section is usually found in the top menu bar of the dashboard. Click on the Bill Pay tab to be directed to the Bill Pay homepage. Here, you will see a list of your current payees and the option to add a new one.

3.  Add a New Payee

To add a new payee, click on the "Add a Payee" button at the top of the page. The next prompts require the payee's information, including the account number, name, and address. These details are usually found on the bill or invoice, and you should pay attention to ensure you record them correctly.

4.  Verify and Save Payee

After entering the payee's details, verifying them before saving the payee is essential. Verifying ensures you have valid information. This helps to avoid errors that may occur during the actual bill payment. Double-check the payee's name, address, and account number to ensure they are correct. Misspelling the payee's name or writing the wrong account number may cause you problems. You can call the payee to confirm the details and correct any inappropriate information.

Once you have verified the details, click the "Save Payee" button. Your new payee will now be added to your list of payees, and you can begin making payments to them.
