How Do I Delete an Existing Bill Pay Payee with Truist Bank?

Bill pay through Truist is a convenient way to make monthly payments, but when you no longer wish to have a payee on your account you can quickly remove the payee using online banking. By logging into your account online or through the mobile app, you can delete a payee stopping future payments to that vendor from your Truist account.

Setting up bill pay on your Truist account can help alleviate the stress of making monthly payments on time, but what happens when you don't want or need bill pay for a certain vendor on your account? How do you delete an existing bill pay payee with Truist? You can learn more about the bank's accounts and programs by calling Truist customer support, and below are steps to deleting an existing payee.

Deleting a Payee With Your Truist Bill Pay

By logging into your account online or through the mobile app, you can delete a payee from your Truist bill pay by doing the following:

  1. Open the navigation menu.
  2. Select "Transactions" then click "Bill Pay."
  3. Locate the payee you want to delete from your account and click on that payee.
  4. Select "Manage Payee" then "Delete Payee."
  5. You can also simply click the three dots in the payee's section on your account and select "Delete Payee."
  6. Review the confirmation and click "Delete" to complete the process.

If you are unable to delete the payee from your Truist account online or via the mobile app, you can also call customer support here and provide the following information:

  1. Your full name as it appears on your account,
  2. Your account number that has bill pay,
  3. Answers to your security questions or other information to confirm identity,
  4. The name of the payee you wish to delete,
  5. You may also have to provide a reason for deleting the payee.

It is important to note transactions that are already processing will not be canceled when you delete the bill payee from your account. Also, when deleting a payee, you need to log into your account with the payee to make sure an alternate method of payment is established to prevent late fees or other penalties, or to make sure the payee account is reflecting payment in full/zero balance if the account has been satisfied.
