Customer Service Number

You can call the NCDOR here for help with the following issues:

  1. Individual Income Tax Refund inquiries
  2. General questions regarding tax forms
  3. Information on the following business taxes:
    • Corporate and Franchise
    • Individual income taxes
    • Partnerships and Fiduciary taxes
    • Privilege licenses

Service Center Appointments

You can also speak to a representative at a NCDOR service center. To request a service center appointment, follow these steps:

  1. Open NCDOR in your computer browser
  2. Click on "Contact Us" in the menu at the top of the screen
  3. Select "Request a Service Center Appointment" from the options listed
  4. Click "Request an appointment" in the dark blue box on the screen
  5. Fill out the form that opens on the screen
  6. Click "Submit"

Once you have submitted your appointment request, a representative from NCDOR will contact you within two business days to schedule your in-person meeting.

You can reach out to the NCDOR via mail with issues you have regarding such matters as bankruptcy, tax returns, business taxes or other tax related matters.

Fraud Hotline

If you need to report tax fraud to NCDOR, you can call the tax fraud hotline here. You also report fraud by doing the following:

  1. Open NCDOR in your computer browser
  2. Click on "Contact Us" in the menu at the top of the screen
  3. Select "Report Tax Fraud"
  4. Download and fill out the tax fraud form and mail it to the NCDOR at the address listed on the form
  5. If you don't want to use the NCDOR form, you can simply mail a letter including this information:
    • Name and mailing address of person committing fraud
    • Tax ID number or social security number of person
    • A description of how they are committing fraud
    • Estimated dollar amount of any income that is not being reported
    • (Optional) your name and contact information
