Listing your business on Google is one of the best ways to get found by customers in your area. Not only does it appear on Google Maps, but it also appears in search results when people look for businesses like yours. If you use SEO marketing, like most businesses, then this is a great way to get your business in front of even more potential customers online. But what if you want to make changes to your business information? Maybe you've moved or changed your phone number. Or perhaps you just want to make sure everything is up-to-date. This article will show you how to edit your business information on Google.

Find Your Business on Google

Before you can edit your business information, you need to find it on Google. First, open a web browser and go to maps.google.com. In the top left corner of the page, type in your business name and hit enter. You'll see a map with its location highlighted if your business is listed. If you have a problem finding your business on Google, you can call customer service for help.

What if Your Business Isn't Listed?

If your business doesn't appear in the search results, that doesn't mean you can't list it. It's easy to add your business to Google. Just open a web browser and go to google.com/business. On the right side of the page, click "Add a new business." You'll need to enter some basic information about your business such as its name, address, and phone number. Once you've entered the information, Google will verify it and add your business to its directory.

What's Next After Finding Your Business?

Now that you've found your business on Google, it's time to edit the information. In the top left corner of the page, click the three horizontal lines and select "My Business." On the next page, you'll see a list of all your business information, including its name, address, phone number, website, and category. You can edit any of this information by clicking the pencil icon next.

If you want to change your address or phone number, you'll need to verify your information first. Google will send a postcard with a verification code to the address you enter. Once you've received the postcard, enter the verification code on the My Business page, and your information will be updated.

If you want to add or change your website, you can do that without verification. Just enter the website's address on the My Business page, and Google will take care of the rest.

Finally, if you want to change your business category, you'll need to verify your information first.

How do You Verify Your Information?

As we mentioned earlier, you can verify your information by entering a verification code Google sends to you in the mail. But there are other ways to verify your information as well.

If you have a Google My Business account, you can verify your information by signing in to your account and clicking "Verify." You can also verify your information by phone or text. Just enter your phone number on the My Business page, and Google will send you a text with a verification code.

Once you've entered the verification code, your information will be updated. Now that you know how to edit your business information on Google make sure everything is up-to-date and accurate. This is a great way to improve your SEO marketing and get in front of even more potential customers.
