What are the hours and when should I call?

Nook operates the call center for this 800-843-2665 phone number Mon-Sun 9am-9pm ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Thursday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 99 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).

Automatically call when they open

When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the Nook call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Nook phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Nook staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call Nook is Sunday. The most busy day to call is Wednesday, which averages 567% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 99 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

We measured the shortest hold times to be on Friday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Tuesday.
But if you use our free call and talk for me or wait on hold for me service, you don't really need to worry about average wait times.

The best time to call Nook

In summation, the best day to call Nook is Thursday.

There are dozens of reasons why people might want to call Barnes & Noble to discuss their Nook product. It might be to see if there are security updates for the older products or to learn more about the newest Nook. I personally had a question about how to upgrade my app so that I can transfer my older books and digital purchases to the newer Nook. I like to be prepared in advance, so I thought now was a good time to call them.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get ahold of a live person at Nook Support. With that in mind, I would encourage anyone who has a question to go ahead and call Nook to get a quick answer.

The first time I tried was a little after 9 pm EST, and I quickly learned that they don't offer 24/7 support. This isn't that unexpected given that Nook isn't a major company nor a cutting-edge product that can't wait until the morning for technical support. Still, 9 pm seemed a little early to me, especially during the summer months. Since there was nothing else I could do, I waited until the morning to call.

The morning passed by, and I found myself calling at 6 pm EST, which turned out to be a sweet spot. I'm not sure if it is because people are eating dinner, but the line was pretty wide open and I got to a customer service agent quickly.

When I called, I was greeted nicely by a recorded message that told me to press one to talk about membership, two to check on order status, three for account and billing, and four for Nook and eBook. As soon as I heard the Nook option, I quickly pressed it and was sent immediately to a hold line.

A recording informed me that the wait time was less than three minutes, and then jazzy music started to play. It didn't even take three minutes; I was talking to someone in less than a minute. The agent spoke clear English and was very pleasant to work with. She answered all of my questions and even gave me some updates about the new Nook and what to expect, which was very helpful. I would not think twice about calling the service line in the future if I had any issues with the Nook.

Nook, like many companies, provides customer service on the X platform (formerly Twitter). While it rarely entails live dialogue with a customer service rep, this channel can yield rapid response times and can be a useful option if you have an X/Twitter account.

Nook Customer Help Desk / Web Support

help.barnesandnoble.com - Customer Service
Online customer service submission form
As a last, sometimes only, resort- Nook customer service can be accessed through their website. This can entail digging through help articles before finding a form and "being allowed" to submit a problem to their team, and rarely leads to a real-time conversation, which is why GetHuman does not recommend this unless it's the only way.
