In fact, much of this information on this page is superfluous because this Certegy phone number is a direct line to a human being. The line is well-staffed and you should anticipate a very short wait on hold or none whatsoever, as long as you are calling during business hours.
We don't know of any phone menus you would encounter when calling either.

What are the hours and when should I call?

Certegy operates the call center for this 800-237-3826 phone number Mon-Fri 8am-9pm ET. The short answer is that you should call on a Thursday. This observation and the following section are based on analysis of a sample set of 281 calls made in the last 90 days using our free, web-based phone (see above).

Automatically call when they open

When you use our free AI-powered phone to call and talk, wait on hold, or navigate for you, it will automatically wait until the Certegy call center opens before trying to call. It will ask your permission before it places the call, so you can also further delay that scheduled call until you are ready. But that means you can "set it and forget it" ahead of time.
An important note: busy times vs hold times vs best time to call
When we refer to busy or less busy times, we are talking about the volume of calls. The busiest times are when the most people are calling this Certegy phone number (least busy times have fewer people calling). This high call volume does not necessarily mean that you will have a long hold time when you call. Companies like Certegy staff their call centers differently based on the time of day and day of the week, so you may experience a shorter wait on hold at the busiest of times. When we refer to the best time to call, we are referring to the optimal combination of lower call volume and shorter wait times.

The least busy time to call

The least busy day to call Certegy is Thursday. The most busy day to call is Friday, which averages 75% more phone calls by comparison. Again, this is based on a sample of 281 calls made with our AI-powered, web-based phone in the last 90 days.

The shortest wait on hold

We measured the shortest hold times to be on Tuesday. The longest wait in the queue on average occurs on Wednesday.
But if you use our free call and talk for me or wait on hold for me service, you don't really need to worry about average wait times.

The best time to call Certegy

In summation, the best day to call Certegy is Thursday. This is not the day with the shortest wait on hold in the phone system, but we still recommend it for its ideal combination of low call volume and short hold times. Plus we believe that Certegy staffs the call center well on Thursday.
Once again, please put this information in perspective because this phone number has no phone menu or long waits. It generally gets picked up right away if calling during their opening hours. If there is any way, it will typically be very short.

Calling this Certegy Customer Number

Attempting to call Certegy for assistance was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a customer service number, because it has the most noise-sensitive system I have ever encountered. It also isn't interested in trying to help customers get through its system if the system runs into any issues.

When I tried calling, I was first told how Certegy offers support at any time of day on its website and provided with a link to Certegy's site, before I was asked to state the reason for my call.

It was here where I discovered Certegy's biggest issue: any noise that it picks up on will disrupt the automated system. Initially, I coughed while speaking, and the system understandably said that it didn't get my response. I then didn't even get a chance to speak before the system picked up on the maintenance person at my apartment mowing the lawn and interpreted that as an invalid entry. The system asked again for me to state the reason why I was calling, and again, before I could speak, the system picked up the sound of the lawnmower and declared the response invalid.

This led to the bigger problem with Certegy: three invalid entries locks you out of the call. It doesn't offer any kind of touch-tone solution, and it doesn't connect you to a real person who can help. It simply decides after three failed entries that you're wasting the system's time and begins the process of hanging up.

What I learned from this call is that if there is any background noise at all when you try to call Certegy, you're out of luck. Unless you have a quiet room where no outside noise can penetrate your phone, you'll have a hard time getting help. I would not use this number for anything.
