What types of securities can I purchase through TreasuryDirect?

Asked a year ago
Through TreasuryDirect, you can purchase several types of securities issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. These include Treasury bills (with maturities less than one year), Treasury notes (with maturities ranging from 2 to 10 years), Treasury bonds (with maturities greater than 10 years), and Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS). Additionally, you can also invest in Series EE and I savings bonds, as well as Marketable Treasury securities, which are primarily available to institutional investors. All of these securities can be conveniently and securely purchased directly from TreasuryDirect, allowing individuals to diversify their investment portfolio and access low-risk options backed by the U.S. government.
