How Do I Transfer Funds from My TradeStation Account?

If you've made some money trading on TradeStation, you may want to transfer that money from your TradeStation account. To do so, you can use a free Automated Clearing House transfer, a wire transfer with a $25 fee, or by having a check mailed to you.

TradeStation is an online brokerage and trading service. There are a lot of ways you can make money with it and, once you do, you're going to need to know how to transfer the money out of your TradeStation account. This article will teach you how to do that. There are different methods you can use.

Smart Transfer

Smart Transfer is the easiest way to transfer funds out of your TradeStation account. This Automated Clearing House type of transfer handles money transfers so cheaply that TradeStation doesn't charge clients anything for them. To initiate a Smart Transfer, follow these instructions:

Go to the TradeStation home page.
Click on Transfer Funds in the green navigation bar near the top of the page.
Click on the Smart Transfer button under the Transfer Cash header.
Fill out the transfer form with all the required information, including amount, account, transfer date and currency.
Submit the form.

Please note that you can set up automatic recurring transfers out of your TradeStation account on the form.

Wire Transfer

You can also withdraw funds by making a wire transfer to your bank or other financial institution. To do that, follow the previous set of instructions. However, instead of clicking on the Smart Transfer button, click on the Wire Transfer button under the Transfer Cash header.

Please note that a wire transfer will cost you $25. That fee goes up to $35 if you're transferring the funds to a foreign bank. You can also set up recurring wire transfers.

Check

Finally, you can also get your funds by check. This method takes the longest, but it's convenient if you don't have a linked account to transfer the funds to. There is no cost to withdraw funds by check. To get a check, follow the same instruction as given above. However, instead of pressing the Smart Transfer or Wire Transfer buttons, press the Check button. It's located under the other two buttons.

Linking an Account

If you haven't linked an external account to your TradeStation account yet, you can't use either the Smart Transfer or wire transfer methods. To link your external account to your TradeStation account, follow these instructions:

Go to TradeStation's home page.
Click on Transfer Funds.
Click on the Add New Account button. It's located below the External Accounts header.
Fill out the form to link the accounts. You will need to provide your login credentials for your external account.
