TD Ameritrade has a wide array of online trading tools. If you want to start using them, you need to learn how to fund your account from your bank account. The easiest way is by ACH transfer. You can either request one on the TD Ameritrade website or by contacting your bank. You can send a wire transfer through your bank or use the TD Ameritrade app to deposit a check.
TD Ameritrade is a stock broker with an online trading platform. The platform features multiple stock trading options, including Forex trading, mutual funds, futures, and options. If you want to take advantage of these online trading opportunities, you need to know how to put funds in your TD Ameritrade account.
An ACH transfer is simply an ordinary electronic transfer such as one you might use between bank accounts. It's the most common way to transfer funds into a TD Ameritrade account. There are two ways to make an ACH Transfer.
The first way involves requesting that TD Ameritrade make the trade. Just log into your account and go to the Deposit into Your TD Ameritrade Account page. Click on the "Request a transfer now" link under the "Give instructions to us and we'll contact your bank" header. Answer the questions and follow the instructions to initiate the transfer. As long as you get the request in before 6:00 p.m. EST, you will probably have your TD Ameritrade account credited the same day. In some cases, though, it may take up to four business days.
The second way to initiate an ACH transfer is by contacting your bank. Just give your bank the amount of the transfer and these other two numbers:
If the transfer is made during business hours, it should be credited to your TD Ameritrade account the next day.
TD Ameritrade does not charge any fees for ACH transfers.
You can also send money with a wire transfer by contacting your bank. You cannot initiate one online at TD Ameritrade. Give your bank the following information if it is an American bank:
Address:
Wells Fargo Bank, NA
420 Montgomery Street
San Francisco, CA 94104
ABA transit routing # 121000248
Account # 4123214561
To be credited to: TD Ameritrade Clearing, Inc
Your name, address, and TD Ameritrade account number.
If your bank is in another country, you can find the information you need to provide on the chart on this page.
TD Ameritrade does not charge any fees for incoming wire transfers. If TD Ameritrade receives the transfer request before 5:30 p.m. EST, your account will be credited the same day. If not, it will be credited the next business day.
You can write a check to TD Ameritrade and have it deposited into your account immediately. Just open the app and select your account, then take pictures of both sides of the check. Enter the amount into the app and then submit the transfer. Your account should be credited on the same business day.
If you need any help making the transfer, you can contact a TD Ameritrade representative for assistance. You can reach one by phone, email, or help forum.
