How Do I Change Primary Contact for My Sprint Account?

Sprint is an American telecommunications company serving more than 54.5 million clients across the country. Based in Kansas, this internet service provider is the 4th largest mobile network operator in the US. The company provides messaging, wireless voice, and broadband services via numerous subsidiaries. Sprint uses EvDO, CDMA, 5G NR, and 4GLTE networks.

As a mobile service provider, the company helps people get better services through mobile connectivity. Through the company's app, My Sprint, you can access your account when you need it, where you are, and at the touch of a button. But, how do I change primary contact for My Sprint account? To help you find answers to this question, we need to take you to a step-by-step procedure for changing primary contact on your account.

Can I Change Primary Contact for My Sprint Account Online?

You can change your contact online only after fulfilling certain conditions. These preconditions must be met by you (the requestor or primary account holder) and the Acceptor (secondary account holder).

The two parties (the Requestor and Acceptor) should be registered for My Sprint account to make the change possible. Also, the Requestor needs the Acceptor's number or contact to facilitate the entire process. The account number will be used by the Acceptor to create a secondary contact for My Sprint account.

Once you fulfill all the requirements, you may login to the "Sprint-Change of Ownership" website and select the right option. On the page, you will find the options "Requester" or "Acceptor" at the bottom to help you start the change process.

Follow all the instructions to the end in order to complete the process. At the end of this procedure, you and your Acceptor will receive a confirmation message through email address.

Helpful Information

Devices

When changing the primary contact for My Sprint account, you need to consider the issue of leased devices. As a Requestor, you will take responsibility for any remaining installment or lease billing payments. But this only applies when you have not completed the lease options on the device leased to you from Sprint.

However, the Acceptor may carry on with the remaining payments after the process. But this will happen after confirmation of the Acceptor's credit score. At this stage, the carrier or Sprint will perform a credit check to determine the current Acceptor's credit score.

In case the Acceptor's credit score does not match or look better than the Requitor's credit score, the remaining installment billing or lease payments will be deducted from the Requestor's next bill.

But if the Acceptors credit score equals to or looks better than the Requestor's, then the latter will authorize the transfer of the pending installment billing or lease monthly payments to the newly created account (Acceptor's account).

Promotions

If the requester gets monthly promotional service credits (such as lease one, loyalty credit, get one/buy one, and so on), then these credits will not go to the new account.

Plans

The plan on the Requestor's account will not transfer to the Acceptor's account if it's expired. Instead, the Acceptor will be assigned a new plan when the phone number is released.

Past or Delinquent Accounts

Both Requestor's and Acceptor's accounts need to be clean with no due balance to make the process possible.

Processing Period

The processing time is likely to take varies depending on your situation. During this period, both parties are expected to make any changes before the request time is over.
