It is common place to see Fitbit devices nowadays. Fitbit devices are helping people from all over the world get healthier.

However, as is common with all technology, Fitbit devices do malfunction from time to time and in some cases it is not your fault. Lucky for you, Fitbit devices usually have a warranty.

If you device's defects are proven to be valid within the warranty period, then you are eligible for a refund or a replacement.

Terms of the Fitbit Warranty

The Limited Fitbit Warranty covers devices and accessories with defects as a result of workmanship and material inadequacies. The warranty lasts for one year from the date of purchase. However, if you live in European Economic Area (EEA) and purchased your Fitbit device from an EEA country, the warranty lasts for two years from the date of purchase.

If you present a defective product to Fitbit, they can choose one of two courses of action. They can repair the product for free using new or refurbished replacement parts. They can also replace the product with a new or refurbished one.

The warranty only applies to items bought from Fitbit itself or from an authorized retailer. Any replacement product will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty period or for thirty days after delivery, whichever is longer.

Certain conditions must be met for you to obtain the warranty service. For starters, you must return the device in its original packaging or packaging that offers the same level of protection to the address provided by Fitbit.

You will also have to provide proof of purchase to Fitbit. Moreover, you will have to provide proof of the device's defects before receiving any warranty services. It is, therefore, prudent to retain your receipts or digital purchase details and back them up. Pictures and videos of the product's defects should be taken upon delivery as they will act as proof in your favor. It is the customer's responsibility to store any information that will help him/her prove the product's unworthiness. Also, no one but the original buyer of the Fitbit device can claim the warranty.

The Fitbit limited warranty does not apply to any device or part of a device that has been serviced, refurbished or altered in any way by anyone who is not authorized by Fitbit. Moreover, the warranty will not apply to any superficial damage such as scratches and dent
