My sibling set up an E*TRADE account upon his release from prison. Unfortunately, he's back in prison due to recent circumstances. I am looking to assist in accessing the funds in his account. Despite his limited ability to communicate with E*TRADE from prison, we have submitted all the required documentation. The issue lies in the fact that his license was expired. We provided a photo of his prison ID, birth certificate, and Social Security card. However, Wells Fargo misspelled his name on the bank statement we submitted. Any guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I've been experiencing numerous issues with E*TRADE constantly undoing my transactions and sending me fraud notifications. While I value their commitment to security, the frequent identity verifications, debit card problems, and restrictions on moving funds between my accounts are becoming overwhelming. Despite selling my house and investing with E*TRADE to familiarize myself with the stock market, every wire transfer or ACH payment I make is reversed without a clear explanation. Even transferring money to my traditional bank results in account freezes due to suspected fraud, leading to a lengthy resolution process that has negatively impacted my finances and peace of mind.

I am having trouble logging into my E*TRADE mobile app. My username ID is not being recognized, and when I tried to change it, I was asked to verify my identity with a code sent to my phone number. However, the code was rejected. I suspect this might be due to the VIP authorization OTP app that generates codes for me. I am unsure how to resolve this issue and regain access to my account on the mobile app.

I am inquiring about the possibility of opening a Roth 401k with your company while also having a traditional 401k at a different brokerage. I recently submitted an application to open a Roth 401k account with eTrade, but I encountered an issue. After filling out the application, I received an email requesting me to fill out the same application again. Upon review, I found information indicating that I needed to have a regular 401k account at eTrade before opening a Roth 401k. I currently hold an active solo 401k with Fidelity and am hesitant to transfer it without more familiarity with eTrade. Can you clarify this requirement for me, please? Thank you.

I received a text message from E-Trade on October 6th providing me with a verification code and instructing me to call if I did not request the code. Upon calling, I was informed that someone was attempting to access my account from a different device. This caused me concern and led me to believe someone was attempting to harm me. Subsequently, when I contacted E-Trade to enhance my account security with VIP access two days later, I mentioned my suspicion that someone was trying to harm me. Due to this statement, my account was restricted, prohibiting cash withdrawals. Despite contacting them twice for a resolution, I am only being told that the issue is under review with no further updates. I find this lack of updates frustrating, as I believe there should be progress if they are truly reviewing the situation. After seeing similar cases online where E-Trade clients faced account restrictions for extended periods, I feel anxious. How can I address this?

After correctly entering my user ID and password on the E*TRADE login page (using any Microsoft PC), I am prompted to input my mobile number, which is not being accepted, thus preventing me from accessing my account (error message: “Sorry, we were unable to match your name with the mobile number you provided”). I have attempted different phone numbers with the same outcome. What could be the cause of this issue? There have been no changes on my end. I can easily access my account using the same user ID and password on my mobile phone. Thank you.
