I purchased a monthly subscription to Sheryl Melton at [redacted] Dohr Street, Berkeley, CA as a Christmas gift. I completed the transaction online using my Visa card in November. However, I have not yet received the December magazine. Could you please investigate this matter? Sincerely, Stanley Karpowicz

As a paying subscriber to The Atlantic, I wish to express a heartfelt and non-political complaint regarding the article "The Coronavirus Turned a Rural County Into a Battleground for Millionaires" by Elaine Godfrey, dated December 13, [redacted], which I read on my online Apple News feed on the same date. The main concern in this article, succinctly captured in the top displayed sentence, was highlighted as, "A lawsuit, a super PAC, and the Texas attorney general brought national pandemic politics to small-town America." My concern stems from the portrayal of "devout Catholics" in a negative light through an isolated clause that seemed unrelated to the rest of the content. The author's depiction of a religious group, characterized by a single extremely hypocritical character, included a deeply unsettling sentence. The specific sentences in question are as follows: "Lack of religion has fueled the breakdown of civility in America, Cillessen, a devout Catholic, told me. The county commissioners were “a bunch of wimps” about COVID-19, and Reynolds is a fanatic, he said: “She’s a big, fat, ugly woman with a lot of power, and she uses her power." As a practicing Catholic and long-time reader of The Atlantic, I have appreciated the publication's ability to steer clear of baseless emotional biases often found in today's news. I respectfully request the immediate removal of the descriptor "a devout Catholic" from this article.
