I am Louis Lavecchia, an Independent Operator for Wise Chips. On Sunday, I visited your store in New City, NY [redacted] and had a negative experience with the Grocery Manager, Gearhart. When I was stocking shelves, he rudely pointed out old stock in banana boxes, laughed at me, and made inappropriate comments. I expressed my concerns to the Store Manager, Lisa, who agreed that his behavior was unacceptable. She promised to have someone from HR contact me but I haven't heard back. As someone with 35 years of business management experience, I believe Gearhart lacks the professionalism required for his role. I urge you to address this issue promptly. Sincerely, Louis Lavecchia, Dough Boy Distributors LLC, Independent Operator for Wise Chips.

For the past two weeks, Stop and Shop Store # [redacted] has been consistently out of stock on items heavily promoted in their circular. Last week on Sept 16th, Cheerios were the featured item but were not available on shelves or in the back. Similarly, on Sept. 23rd, the store lacked the highlighted Miller Lite beer, despite the circular promotion. The manager attributed the issue to a grocery problem and offered a rain check, which doesn't solve the immediate need for the product. This recurring problem of essential sale items not being in stock on the day they are advertised is becoming a concerning pattern. It appears unprofessional and could potentially have more serious implications for customers. Attempts to reach out to the store management have resulted in unhelpful responses, leading to frustration. I am considering escalating this matter to corporate or a consumer protection agency to investigate if this issue is isolated to one store or a broader problem throughout the chain. I hope to receive a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this ongoing issue.

During my recent visit to the store on Hemingway Avenue in East Haven, I observed an incident that I feel compelled to share. While at the self-checkout area around 7:10 PM on July 29, [redacted], a customer requested assistance from the cashier on duty. Unfortunately, the cashier responded with a disrespectful attitude, displaying annoyance at having to leave her station to help. This behavior is not an isolated event, as I have encountered this particular cashier during multiple visits, consistently exhibiting rudeness and unprofessionalism towards customers. Her eye-rolling, inappropriate remarks, and general demeanor towards patrons reflect poorly on the establishment. It is evident that she lacks the appropriate customer service skills required for her role. Moreover, the indifferent attitude of most managers on site is disheartening, allowing such behavior to persist. This negative experience, compounded by the overall cleanliness issues and the unprofessional conduct of the staff, is driving customers away from the store. It is disappointing to witness such a decline in the standards of service and cleanliness at your location.

I have been a loyal customer at Stop and Shop on Dixwell Avenue in Hamden, Connecticut for many years. Lately, I have been facing an issue with the lack of Gatorade on their shelves for the past 5 weeks. I raised this concern with the manager, but I was disappointed with the responses I received. The manager kept repeating that he didn't have any information about the stock or when it would be available. This lack of knowledge is concerning given his role. I would appreciate it if the shelves could be kept clean while they are restocking the Gatorade. I would prefer not to have the pandemic cited as the reason for this issue, as many others have been using it as an excuse. Thank you.

Hello, Allow me to introduce myself. I currently reside in Baku, Azerbaijan and I am interested in working in the USA. I am seeking employment in the US due to the opportunity to work longer hours. Economic challenges in my country have led me to reach out to you. My brother and I are both eager to work diligently for you. We are open to coming to the USA on an H2B visa and are willing to commit to a contract for however many years you require. While my brother specializes as a Bowling Manager, he is also keen on working in the USA. We are not of the Muslim faith and we are law-abiding citizens. Working in an Islamic country poses certain challenges for us, making a move to the US appealing. If the answer is negative, kindly communicate this via email. I strongly believe that inviting us to work for you would be mutually beneficial. Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Warm regards, [redacted]

I have been a loyal customer of the Norwell Stop & Shop for many years, but I'm looking forward to trying Market Basket. The constant challenges of items being out of stock, the layout changes, and the inconvenient placement of products like bread opposite the freezer section have become frustrating. It's clear that wine is the priority at Norwell, placed prominently while essential items are harder to find. My daughter has had a much better experience at the Weymouth store, so it's evident where Norwell stands in comparison. It's a common sentiment among customers I've spoken to that they are eagerly anticipating shopping at Market Basket instead. I hope my feedback can make a difference, but I'm personally ready to switch stores. Please refrain from contacting me further as my decision is final.

I have been a loyal customer of yours for around 40 years. I frequent the East Rockaway store on Atlantic Avenue. Lately, over the past six months, I have noticed the shelves are not adequately stocked. Sale items are frequently unavailable, and when I raise this concern with staff, it often seems like they are indifferent. For instance, when you advertised St. Louis ribs for $1.99 lb, only regular ribs were on display for the same price, which has become a common issue. This is not the experience at the larger store on Long Beach Road (Sands Shopping Center). Today, I visited the store and found no yogurt and no store brand fat-free half and half. The half and half product is consistently missing. It is frustrating to repeatedly encounter missing items every week. Thank you, Irv Abraham.

At Store #[redacted], I bought Thomas' English Muffins on a buy 1 get 1 deal, but I got charged for both at $4.49. Realizing the mistake, I went back to the store where I explained to the staff. Despite my insistence that it was a sign at the muffin counter, they initially couldn't find any proof. Eventually, Brandon checked the sign and seemed annoyed. After some back and forth, I asked for a manager, but Brandon was too busy to call one. When a different staff member got Mary to come, she didn't offer much help or speak to me. Dealing with this issue took over 30 minutes of my time. I feel both Brandon and Mary could improve their customer service skills.

I would like to address some concerns I have regarding the Shirley, New York store location. The cleanliness of the store is subpar, with a lot of items not in stock or discontinued. While pest control is necessary, the strong smell of insecticide on the fruit is concerning. Washing the fruit does not entirely remove the taste of it. I haven't complained before, but constantly throwing out contaminated produce is frustrating. I've noticed a significant difference in standards compared to the store in Amityville, New York, where quality is consistently maintained. The store manager in Shirley should elevate the management standards to meet customer expectations.

During my recent visit to your Stop & Shop at [redacted] Ave. Y in Brooklyn, N.Y., I encountered two upsetting issues. Firstly, two managers were not wearing masks, and the few cashiers present had them incorrectly positioned on their chins. I brought this up to one manager but received a flippant response. Considering the high rate of Covid cases in Southern Brooklyn, even vaccinated individuals should wear masks, especially managerial staff. Secondly, when checking out, I was informed by the cashier that I had to pack my own bag, which I found unusual. The cashier did not offer to assist, leaving me feeling like I should have used the self-service option. This occurred between 4:15-4:34 at store #[redacted]. The lack of proper Covid precautions and customer service made this visit quite unpleasant.

Dear Customer Service Team, I reside close to your Lagrange, NY store but opt to drive to Shop Rite on Rt 82 to avoid shopping at Stop And Shop. If needed, I will quickly pick up essential items on my way home. The store appears rundown, dirty, and has a strong unpleasant odor upon entry. The presence of a black rat trap at the entrance is quite off-putting. The meat section often features yellow tagged "manager specials" due to slow sales, leading to the purchase of low-quality, discolored meat. Having shopped regularly at the Somers and Mahopac locations, I find the Lagrange store to be subpar. It requires immediate attention and refurbishment. Sincerely, Larry M. Poughquag, NY

I placed an order online today around 1:45 pm for pickup at the Milford CT store for the next day between 2-3 pm. As of 11:50 pm, I have not received a confirmation email for my order. Additionally, I can't see the promised $8 credit in my cart that a customer service representative assured me would be there once I completed the purchase. This credit is due to my frustration over being charged $4.50 for each 6-pack of Diet Coke when the weekly flier advertised "4 6pks/$10 - digital coupon." Despite not finding the digital coupon on the website, I called customer service and was told something about the system not merging, which was confusing to me. I expected to easily select a digital coupon to get the advertised price. I tried using the online chat at 11:50 pm to seek clarification but only received the standard response of "I don't understand your question." Avoiding this inconvenience and feeling ripped off, I may consider shopping at Big Y instead.

Over the past few days, I had negative encounters with an unprofessional Stop&Shop employee. The first incident happened at the checkout while purchasing bananas. I used the express lane, and the associate expressed frustration about having to scan each banana, implying I had over 12 items in my cart. I found her tone rude, and even though I raised it with the supervisor and was informed I was correct, I let it go as a one-time thing. A few days later, I faced a similar issue with the same employee, this time at the pharmacy. While waiting, I took a call, and upon my turn, she asked me to put my phone away to focus on the transaction, which felt disrespectful. These interactions led me to switch pharmacies and reconsider Stop&Shop as my go-to store due to her consistently unkind and rude behavior.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Hyannis Stop & Shop. During two separate incidents, I encountered an unprofessional associate who made my visits unpleasant. The first encounter was while checking out, where the associate rudely complained about me using the 12 items or under lane with my bananas. The supervisor confirmed my assumption that a bunch of bananas should count as one item. Despite letting it go, a similar incident occurred in the pharmacy section a few days later. The same associate scolded me for being on a call while waiting for my turn. Her disrespectful behavior led me to switch pharmacies and choose not to make Stop & Shop my primary shopping destination. The level of rudeness and lack of kindness in her interactions were completely unwarranted.

I reside in Massapequa, N.Y. [redacted] and frequently visit the Stop and Shop located on Hicksville Rd in Massapequa. I am pleased that they are finally renovating the store, which was previously run-down and an eyesore for the neighborhood. However, I am deeply disappointed with the state of the bathroom. It is not only outdated but also in a deplorable condition. While I can manage, my concern is for the employees who deserve a cleaner environment. Additionally, elderly customers may face difficulties. I urge you to reconsider and include the bathroom in the upgrades. I suggest sending someone to inspect the restroom before finalizing the renovation. Thank you for your attention, and I hope you will make the necessary improvements. I would like to commend Associate Simone at the Glendale Store. As a senior with limited mobility, her customer service has been exceptional. Simone has demonstrated strong leadership and supervisory skills. She arranged for staff assistance that has allowed me to continue shopping at the store. I'd also like to recognize Linda, Swonie (apologies for any misspelling), Annalee, Angela, and Jennifer for their contributions to making my shopping experience enjoyable. Together, these individuals, especially Simone, keep me returning to the Glendale Store. Thank you for your excellent work. Sincerely, Bernard Steiner

I had a frustrating experience at the Stop and Shop on High Street in Torrington today. The self-checkout area was chaotic with blinking scanners and issues recognizing items as checked out. The poor attendant was rushing between registers, causing delays for customers. Additionally, the quality of the bags was disappointing, as they ripped easily. In the past, the longer belt self-checkout was efficient for me, but now it seems like customers are expected to do too much work themselves. Despite being a loyal customer since the store opened, I am fed up with these new checkouts and thin bags. It has become a hassle to shop there with limited open registers. If the store can't provide better service, they should consider closing. I'm looking for a store with better prices and smoother checkout experiences.

At the store located on [redacted] Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn, during a 4-day sale on select items, I experienced disappointment on day 2. The $1.88 Kraft cheese and the $0.88 Ronzoni spaghetti were both out of stock. When I requested a rain check, I was informed it would be $2 for 5 for the cheese and there would be no discount for the Ronzoni. This situation feels like a bait-and-switch tactic to me. It would be appreciated if the rain check could be honored at the same price. As a loyal customer of Stop and Shop, I prefer not to make multiple trips to check for restocks.

My spouse and I visited the Stop & Shop on Garfield Avenue in Providence, RI on September 10th. This is the second unpleasant encounter we've had with a particular cashier line manager. Today, my spouse was scanning items when two cans of Stop & Shop crushed tomatoes did not scan unintentionally. We had already scanned 25 other items. We had $[redacted] in food stamps and $[redacted] in cash. The cashier line manager rudely approached us, implying we were trying to scam the system. After apologizing and offering to rescan the items, things escalated needlessly. The manager was confrontational and ultimately asked us to leave the store. We left empty-handed, feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Despite the small value of the unscanned items, we were planning on a substantial grocery purchase. The lack of professionalism from this manager has driven us to shop elsewhere, like Price Rite in Johnston, RI. It's disappointing to be treated this way, and I wonder how many other customers have been driven away by similar experiences.

Stop and Shop recently reorganized its stores, leading to numerous items being either misplaced or discontinued. The health food section, which was once a vital resource for shoppers with dietary restrictions, has been eliminated. This change has made it challenging for those following dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan diets to navigate the grocery store. The absence of the healthy options that were once available at Stop and Shop has made it difficult for many customers to complete their shopping in one trip. If these options are not reintroduced, customers with special dietary needs may have no choice but to shop elsewhere. Other grocery stores that cater to individuals requiring unique and alternative diets may become the preferred shopping destination for many customers.
