We were issued the electric account, but the gas account was mistakenly given to the property owner. After some back and forth, the issue was resolved with a zero balance, alleviating any financial burden on the landlady. However, transferring the remaining funds to the new account became complicated when asked to submit jpeg or PDF files which their system could not process. As a result, we are currently locked out of the account, awaiting a solution to access it and unable to set up the app without the new account number. Meanwhile, the payment sits unallocated, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. Communication with customer service in India has been somewhat helpful, though progress is slow and cumbersome, leaving us feeling helpless and distressed in this situation.

I would like to address the recent issue I have encountered with Scottish Power. I have been a customer for 3 to 4 years, consistently paying my bills through direct debit without fail, even during challenging economic times in the UK. Recently, I purchased a property at 82 Kirkby Road NG17 1GH and requested to transfer my account to my new address. Regrettably, I was informed that due to the property having a top-up meter, Scottish Power could not accommodate my request. I was taken aback by the staff member's implication that being a top-up customer is undesirable, as I have no experience with this type of meter in my 18 years in the UK. I value the convenience of paying my gas and electricity bills through direct debit at the end of the month. I respectfully request a review and reconsideration of this decision. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Grace O.

I am an 83-year-old man who is partially sighted and partially deaf. I live alone and have been without heating or hot water since 10 a.m. yesterday. I suffer from severe arthritis, diabetes, renal problems, and have a colostomy bag. I am on a direct debit payment plan with you, but the monthly amount is over $[redacted], which I cannot afford. I don't know why my gas is off. Please contact my carer, Nikki, as I cannot hear well on the phone. I urgently need this resolved as I don't want to spend another night trying to keep warm with extra clothing. Thank you.

I have two accounts for my property which have now been merged into one. The electricity is connected to the smart meter from one property and disconnected from the other meter. I urgently need Scottish Power to remove the extra meter promptly. I am currently at home for the next couple of weeks, so please address this matter promptly. Also, please cease the connection charge from last Monday as I am solely connected to the smart meter from that day. Thank you for your attention to this issue. -David Whitefield

We recently moved into our new home at 40 Broomfield Avenue, Telscombe Cliffs, Peacehaven, BN10 7AL. The previous owners left gas and electricity readings at Gas [redacted] and Electric [redacted]. We will be supplied by Octopus Energy starting from the 28th of March. We are aware that we owe for the period between the previous owners leaving and our new supplier taking over. We attempted to contact you by phone, but we do not possess a customer number or any correspondence from your company.

I recently received a letter from LCS stating they bought a debt from you in my name. The account number provided, [redacted]5, does not belong to me, as I never resided at that address nor had an account with them. This is not the first occurrence, as I have an email from your customer service on 16/9/[redacted] confirming the error. The supplied service date of 30/11/[redacted]-11/11/[redacted] also does not align with my residency in the UK at that time. Could you kindly request FIRST LOCATE or LCS, working on your behalf, to cease sending letters unless it is an apology for their mistake? This situation has no connection to me and I appreciate your help in resolving this issue.

I am trying to contact customer service regarding an account that should have been closed in [redacted] but is still open. I moved out of that property in July [redacted], and all bills were paid up to date. I am confused as to why the account remains open after 7 years and why I am still being billed for a property I no longer live in. I have submitted documents proving I moved to a different property in July [redacted], and your colleagues acknowledged receiving them this morning. I am struggling to reach someone in customer service as I keep getting transferred to different departments and told to communicate through this webchat.

I have a bill just over £[redacted], which I have paid. Since August last year, I have paid direct debits totaling around another £[redacted]. They estimated my bill until the last reading, which they are saying is correct. I can't understand this. I am a widow on my own and have always been in credit. I believe the last reading I gave was in August last year, at which time I was in credit. I have had a smart meter installed since April 21st, and I have only used around £14, so this amount seems inaccurate. Please explain this to me. I spent the winter with only one small heater on. I would appreciate an answer. Thank you.

Subject: Issue with Dual Fuel Account No: [redacted]9 I would like to address a recurring problem regarding the dual fuel supply at my property. My name is Dilip Desai, the landlord of 39 Bedford Road, Northampton, NN1 5NG, and I have been receiving demand letters from Scottish Power. Despite the current tenant's assurance that they do not have an account with Scottish Power, the letters persist. I have attempted to clarify the situation multiple times without success. Unfortunately, as the account is not in my name, I am unable to receive assistance or updates from Scottish Power. The current tenant has been uncooperative in resolving this matter and insists on forwarding all correspondence to me. I request that letters be addressed to "Current Tenant" to avoid confusion. I am eager for a swift resolution and request all further communication be via email. Kindly refrain from contacting me at the property address provided. Your attention to this issue is appreciated. Thank you. Best regards, Dilip Desai

I recently moved into a property at 5 Stileham Bank in Milborne St Andrew, Blandford Forum, Dorset, DT110LE. The previous tenants vacated the property without settling their electric bill. The bill for £[redacted].30 addressed to Mr. M. Evans was left at my address. The account number is [redacted]4. I am unsure about how to contact Scottish Power as I do not have an account with them. I need to resolve this issue as I want to switch to another energy provider and cannot pay a bill that is not mine. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Barbara Morby.

I have a property in Dunfermline that was a rental until the tenant moved out on 14/06/23. The letting agent alerted SP, but I haven't heard from them. After multiple unsuccessful email attempts, I spoke with Mazher on 14/07 around 15:15. He directed me to email [redacted] with a photo and details. Their response suggested using live chat instead of email. The property address is 6 1/2 Middle Left, Rose Street, Dunfermline, KY10 0RE. The previous tenant, Miss Paige Gilbride, left on 14/06, and the new tenant moves in on 01/08. I've been struggling to update my details. The meter serial number is A09LB52739. Initially, Mazher mentioned it's linked to 6 Rose Street but later said it's also connected to an account at 6 1/2 T/L Rose Street. I urgently need clarification before the new tenant arrives on 01/08. I'm awaiting a prompt response.

I am experiencing a concerning issue with my electric and gas meters deducting more credit than expected when I top up, which is causing financial strain for me and my family. Despite reporting this problem over a year ago, it has not been resolved. As a part-time worker with a young daughter, this situation is very difficult for me. I am considering changing suppliers if this matter is not addressed promptly, though I have been a loyal customer of Scottish Power for many years. Currently, I have no gas or electric supply due to this issue. I am also seeking a refund for the excess charges incurred over the past year. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A utility worker came to my door to read the meter, then insisted on installing a smart meter despite my repeated objections. They threatened to proceed without my consent and asked for personal details, including my full name, which made me uncomfortable. They scheduled an engineer to visit and later emailed me about charging $10 for every top-up due to arrears. As someone reliant on disability funds, this added cost is unmanageable. I urgently need to cancel the smart meter installation and prevent excessive charges.

I am looking for information on how to apply for a monthly settlement payment. I would like to know if I can choose my own monthly cut-off day. For example, if I want to cut off the monthly meter on the 5th, do I need to submit a meter reading on that day? Is there a specific time I should submit the reading? If I don't submit a reading, will the power company still be able to determine my electricity consumption? Once I provide the electricity consumption, will I receive the electricity bill through an app? Please guide me through the process as I am a new customer and unsure how to manage the billing. Thank you for your assistance.
