I needed a duplicate title from RI after losing the original while moving to Florida. After two visits to the DMV in RI due to their mistake, they informed me they would send a FREE TITLE for the inconvenience. They sent it to my Florida address, but it turned out to be a license renewal instead of the title I need for selling the car. How quickly can we fix this? Thank you.

Hello, I'm Marco Spivey, currently in the military. I registered my [redacted] BMW i8 lease with the RI DMV in Jan/[redacted] while I was in Newport for school. I moved to CA in Aug/[redacted] and re-registered my vehicle there in Sep/[redacted] without canceling the RI plates online. BMW Financial Services paid $[redacted].78 for property tax and billed me. As a Florida resident, I'm unsure if active duty military are charged the full property tax. If there is a reduced rate for military, I need to know how to pay this and inform BMW Financial for reimbursement. Your help in resolving this is appreciated. - Marco D. Spivey

As a title specialist at Carvana, I am currently assisting a customer with a complex titling issue. The customer initially registered a vehicle in Rhode Island before moving to Massachusetts where the car was re-registered. I attempted to obtain a duplicate Massachusetts title, but was informed that the original Rhode Island title is required. Despite applying for a duplicate Rhode Island title, the request was denied due to the need for the original Massachusetts title. It seems that the customer lacked the Rhode Island title because of a previous lien holder, resulting in a memorandum title being issued by Massachusetts. This memorandum title cannot be transferred until the original Rhode Island title is provided to Massachusetts. I am seeking guidance on the next steps to resolve this situation.

I am Christine LucasSchroth, and I am having issues with my driving record. In March, my car got towed due to expired insurance, impacting my ability to work part-time. Although I reinstated everything, police kept pulling me over, claiming inaccuracies on my record. When I tried to fix it at the DMV, I found out my license was suspended due to missed court dates that I never received notices for due to address changes. Despite only one driving violation, my record is inaccurate, affecting my health and daily life. I sought legal help, but it only led to more confusion and expenses. Now, I struggle to afford insurance and fear losing my doctor due to missed appointments caused by this ordeal. I seek help to clear my record and restore my driving privileges. This situation has taken a toll on me, and I urgently need assistance. Thank you for listening. Christine Lucas Schroth.

I've been attempting to schedule an appointment at the DMV in Rhode Island for September. Every time I try to make the appointment online, I keep receiving an error message stating that my date of birth is invalid. This issue has occurred multiple times, leading me to suspect that someone might be using my personal information. I have reached out to the fraud hotline with the Rhode Island State Police, but unfortunately, my call was not returned. Additionally, I am now receiving toll bills from New York City for tags that appear to be registered under my name. As a result, I am unable to resolve this matter with the DMV. I am seeking assistance to rectify this situation. Thank you.

Hello, this is Christine Carlson from Reynolds' Subaru. We submitted registration and title paperwork to your Cranston location on 5/24/[redacted]. When I last inquired earlier this month, I was informed it wasn't in your system. I am following up to check if it is ready for collection or still being processed. For reference, the customer is Rachel Rogoff with the license number [redacted]1 and Vin# 4S4BTANC0M[redacted]. I've tried calling the past two days, being on hold for 4 hours yesterday without a response, and still waiting after 2 hours today. Any update on the status of this registration and title would be appreciated. If there is an alternative way to contact the DMV or a specific dealer line for out-of-state dealers, please provide that information. Thank you for your assistance. Christine Carlson, Title Clerk, Reynolds' Subaru.

I was recently contacted about verifying my liability insurance, which is still active with Hagerty Insurance under policy number #HDC[redacted]6. However, despite my insurance being current, my registration was canceled. I believe there may have been a mistake, especially during these challenging times with COVID. I received a letter directing me to submit proof of insurance, but instead, my registration was terminated. I want to resolve this issue promptly and avoid any liability for an error that occurred. I urge someone from the DMV to reach out to me before I escalate this matter to the Attorney General's office on Monday. Please contact me at [redacted]. I do not want my plates to be canceled.
