I had a very disappointing experience on Facebook yesterday regarding a gift card given to my husband and me by my brother-in-law last Christmas. I couldn't make the reservation as the gift card, number [redacted]-[redacted], security code 44NSRH, was allegedly used at Il Capriccio in Waltham, MA, on 1/20/[redacted]. We did not use it, and I have never been to that restaurant. I had planned to use it for our 34th anniversary on October 14th. I believe this was an error made by someone entering the wrong number or possible hacking. Losing $[redacted] over this is unfair. As a loyal member of Open Table for many years, I am disappointed with this situation. I hope this can be resolved by honoring the gift card intended for us. Sandy C.

We received an OpenTable gift certificate for our anniversary. We booked a table at The Barn Steakhouse in Evanston through OpenTable. However, we had trouble activating the gift certificate on our mobile device and had to pay out of pocket. This incident was quite embarrassing and took over an hour to resolve. The activation code for the certificate is #CQPU-Q8Q8-ZMVD-RE4B. We request that the certificate be honored by The Barn. The manager assured us that they are familiar with similar cards and even provided an instructional sheet to customers. We believe this issue is with OpenTable, and we seek compensation for the inconvenience and embarrassment caused on our special day. Thank you. D. Moylan and J. Paige.

Subject: Assistance Needed to Update OpenTable Profile Hello OpenTable, I've been having trouble updating my boss, Mr. Alan Jones', email and password on his account due to firewall restrictions at work. As his assistant, I mistakenly created a new account for him with only [redacted] points but he already had an existing account with 3,[redacted] points. Is there a way to combine these points into one account? The new account I created is under the email: ruth.kossoff@[redacted] with the password: akjones or Morgan0228!. We would like to save his 3,[redacted] points and recreate the account using the email: aj37725@[redacted] with the password: Harvard21. Please advise on the best course of action to update his information. Thank you for your assistance. Kind Regards, Ruth Kossoff Temporary | Investment Management Morgan Stanley New York, NY Could you kindly assist in updating my OpenTable profile with the new email? Thank you. Best regards, AJ

Hello Saunjae from OpenTable Support, I believe there might be confusion about Alan Jones' account. Ruth mentioned he has 3,[redacted] points in one email but another account seems to only have [redacted] points. Ruth is requesting assistance in transferring the points since Alan is changing his email to [redacted] Please double-check where the 3,[redacted] points are located and assist Ruth with making the necessary changes. Thank you, Ruth

Subject: Concern Regarding OpenTable Privacy Policy Update Hello, I have reservations regarding the section you shared about potentially sharing my information with other businesses without my explicit consent. I only want my information to be shared with my approval. Thank you, H.J. Goldfarb

Subject: Missed Reservation at Fishworks Date: September 7, [redacted] Email Address: [redacted] Hello OpenTable Team, I appreciate your message but it's essential for me to communicate that I don't make reservations without canceling or informing if plans change. I contacted Fishworks directly earlier today, as suggested by your email, to cancel my 7:30 pm reservation. Despite leaving a voicemail with my name and reservation number ([redacted]), I received no answer during the time stipulated by the restaurant to respond. A subsequent call at 11 pm confirmed my earlier message was received. This situation highlights a disconnect between OpenTable and the represented restaurants. I've learned from this and will avoid using OpenTable for future reservations. Regards, GB

I made a reservation for 10 people at Latitude by JR in Temecula for October 20th, but now my party is only 8. After receiving a confirmation text today, I discovered the restaurant is permanently closed. It would greatly benefit consumers if Open Table were aware of these closures. If I had known earlier, I could have found an alternative. Unfortunately, finding another restaurant last minute for a party of 8 proves to be impossible as all brunch places in Temecula are fully booked. This situation is disappointing and inconvenient. I hope Open Table can use this feedback to enhance their system in the future.

OpenTable Reservation Misunderstanding I recently had a confusing experience with OpenTable. I thought I made a reservation at The Wharf in Naples for 6 people for dinner, requesting outdoor seating. Unfortunately, I later realized I actually reserved at a different restaurant in Virginia with a similar name. When I called to inquire about outdoor seating and place a pickup order, the mix-up became apparent. I mistakenly ordered dinner for pickup from the wrong restaurant. Although the staff member was accommodating, I ended up with lobster dinners I didn't intend to order. When I went to pick up the food in Naples, I discovered the error. I called the Virginia restaurant to explain, but they had already prepared the order. I accepted responsibility for the mistake but asked for a goodwill gesture or donation of the food. The situation was a result of mutual oversight, and I hope to resolve it amicably.

I received an email approximately a year ago stating that my points are now set to expire in March [redacted]. Shortly after, the pandemic began, leading my husband and me to strictly adhere to CDC guidelines. As senior citizens, we have not dined out since February [redacted], solely venturing to the grocery store when necessary. Our plan was to use these points for special dinners at restaurants, an idea halted due to the current situation. With the vaccine still pending, it's uncertain if we can utilize the points before they expire. I have shared numerous reviews on your platform, and it would be disheartening if my efforts are in vain due to the expiration of points. We are hesitant about dining indoors due to safety concerns and the cold weather. Any assistance during this challenging period would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Willa S.

I redeemed 5,[redacted] points through the rewards program for an Amazon gift card. When I received the congratulatory email with the claim code button, none of the graphics loaded, and the button didn't work. I tried forwarding the email to other accounts but had the same issue. After several unacknowledged emails to OpenTable, I spent time trying to contact them via phone but faced long hold times and callbacks that never went through. The customer service line was unresponsive, stating they couldn't take calls from the Rocky Mountain region. This whole experience has been frustrating, as their rewards program seems faulty, and their customer service is unhelpful with automated responses. It's disappointing how difficult it has been to get assistance from this company.

A few days ago, I activated an OpenTable dining reward and received an OpenTable Reward Card (#5[redacted] 0[redacted], CSC#[redacted]). Following the card's instructions, I made a reservation at Ironwood Kitchen in Homewood, Alabama. However, upon using the Reward Card for payment at the restaurant, it was unexpectedly rejected, causing a rather embarrassing situation. I hold OpenTable accountable for this issue. I urge you to address this matter promptly. Moving forward, I will be making my dining reservations through Resy, and my team of 16 sales staff will also follow suit. Prior to the pandemic, I traveled extensively, and I expect a higher level of technology proficiency and customer service from the vendors I engage with. My Open Table points balance of [redacted] was unexpectedly reset on February 21. I couldn't utilize the points before their expiration because I am a high-risk senior citizen who hadn't been vaccinated by that time. It feels unjust to lose the points during a period when we were advised to stay home for safety. Despite our caution, most restaurants were closed for dine-in when my points expired, and my wife and I were only vaccinated at the end of March. I have been unable to reach anyone at Open Table, and their online support system was unhelpful. I kindly request that my [redacted] points be reinstated, and I would appreciate an extension until the end of [redacted] to use them. Thank you for your attention to this matter. - Dean Mitchell

I was disappointed when I tried to book a reservation at the oyster bar at Harrah's Las Vegas last Friday using OpenTable, but it showed no availability for Saturday night. I had to book at Ruth's Chris instead. However, when I passed by the oyster bar on Saturday, it was almost empty, with only a few tables occupied. I ended up canceling my Ruth's Chris reservation to dine there instead. I'm puzzled why I was told they were fully booked when clearly they were not. It's unfair to customers and the staff losing business. I hope they address this issue to prevent similar situations in the future.

I exchanged 5,[redacted] points for a $25 voucher on 7/2/21 to dine at Blue Moon in Rehoboth Beach, DE on 8/18/21. The restaurant attempted to process my Mastercard voucher, but I was informed that the authorization failed and was declined. I would like my 5,[redacted] points refunded to my account. I am Richard Rumrill from Hollywood, FL. I have tried using the chat system at Open Table for assistance, but they seem to misunderstand my issue. Despite attempting to contact the restaurant's customer service, I keep getting directed back to the chat system. This process has already taken about two hours, leaving me frustrated. It appears that dealing with Open Table to earn points has become a time-consuming hassle. Disappointed and upset customer here.

I made a reservation on OpenTable for dinner at Jamie's Ludgate Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24th. However, they called at noon on the same day to inform me that their kitchen was closed. They offered to move my reservation to Jamie's Tudor Street at the same time, which I accepted. Surprisingly, at 2:15 p.m., I received an email accusing me of not showing up at Ludgate Hill, even though they had canceled on me initially. I clarified the situation via email, stating that Jamie's canceled on me, not the other way around. OpenTable replied, acknowledging their mistake but still blamed me for not showing up, which was not the case. It seems there is a miscommunication between Jamie's and OpenTable, and I am being wrongly accused. Nonetheless, I visited Jamie's Tudor Street as agreed and spent a significant amount. I am seeking an apology and clarification from OpenTable regarding the false accusations made against me. Thank you, G. P.

I attempted to redeem my points at Bazille restaurant in Nordstrom at the Del Amo Mall in Torrance, CA. Unfortunately, the restaurant informed me that they do not accept OpenTable certificates. So, I tried to use it for another reservation elsewhere, yet the system indicated that the certificate had already been utilized. I visited the website in search of assistance through email or chat to notify them about the need to reactivate the certificate, but those options were unavailable.

I have been a member of OpenTable for 15 years and have never had any issues until recently. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any points for my last two restaurant visits. Today, I activated [redacted] points ($10) but have not received any confirmation of this redemption. I just made a reservation at My Italian Daughter in Scottsdale, AZ for 3/26 and was hoping to use the recently activated points. Can you kindly assist with this matter? I am a 60-year-old individual with a doctoral degree and 32 years of experience as a healthcare provider. I recently experienced poor customer service from OpenTable regarding a reservation at True Food Kitchen. Despite canceling the reservation due to a friend falling ill, I received a rude email from OpenTable chastising me for missing the reservation. The tone of the email and lack of empathy were unacceptable. I believe OpenTable should revise their automated response to be more helpful and understanding of individual circumstances. An apology via email and improved customer service practices are necessary for a resolution. Additionally, I faced difficulties securing reservations on OpenTable compared to calling the restaurant directly, highlighting issues with their service.

A few moments ago, I reached out regarding my OpenTable debit card being compromised. After being redirected to answer.com and asked to pay for assistance, I prefer not to share payment information. I believe OpenTable should address this issue directly. Akimbo, your vendor, has been unhelpful. I kindly request assistance from OpenTable customer support. - Dennis C. Sr.

I've had three calls today from a no caller ID, supposedly from Adam at OpenTable regarding the Old Guinea. He mentioned a £20 reservation fee that I supposedly paid, but upon checking, I found no such charge on any of my credit cards. This seems suspicious as he requested my card details for a refund, yet if he were truly from OpenTable, wouldn't he already have that information? I wanted to share this experience to raise awareness of possible fraudulent calls claiming to be associated with OpenTable or the Old Guinea. Apologies if my skepticism is unwarranted.
