I am currently leasing a space for my business in Calamba, Laguna. The electricity in my unit is connected through the owner's main line, and I have a submeter to track my usage. Recently, I received a bill for PHP [redacted] despite only consuming 80KWH. Upon investigation, I found out they are charging us PHP 20 per KWH, whereas the standard rate is around PHP 10 per KWH. I'm wondering if the lessor has the right to overcharge us like this. If not, how can I file a formal complaint about this pricing discrepancy with my lessor? I would greatly appreciate your response. Thank you.

Hello, I am following up on the status of the reports # [redacted] and [redacted]4. We called last July 13 to report a sparking and malfunctioning meter. They said a technician would come within 2 hours, but no one arrived. They called my number around 1 am, but I missed the call, so I replied the next morning. They claimed to be from Meralco. I mentioned that no one has come to fix the meter. When I called earlier, they said someone came even though no one did. Our account number is [redacted]45-3. For any updates, please send a technician ASAP. Thank you.

Subject: Urgent Request to Postpone Power Supply Disconnection
Account Number: [redacted]
Name: Hizon Jr., Oscar
I am George Hizon, the brother of Oscar. Oscar has been unable to work for the past year, and I have been helping him with the bills. However, due to the high monthly costs, I have struggled to keep up with payments.
I would like to request a postponement of the power disconnection scheduled for this Thursday until next week. Your team informed us about the potential disconnection during their visit this past Monday. My concern is that my wife and an infant will be alone at home on Friday, and I will be out early that day trying to secure funds to settle the outstanding balance by Saturday this week.
I kindly ask for your assistance in accommodating this request to avoid the disruption of my children's ongoing exams. Your understanding and help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
George P. Hizon

I would like to address the recurrent power outages happening in our apartment at Unit 2A, [redacted] V. G. Cruz Street, where Cynthia K. Madarang is the owner and her son, Greg Madarang, takes care of the building. Despite having our individual breakers, our unit suffers from blackouts while the rest of the building does not. Following several similar incidents, we have been without power in Unit 2A for the last three days. Greg, the caretaker, insists the issue lies with our breaker. However, suspicions from neighbors and a consistent blackout pattern in the evenings suggest otherwise. Neighbors have observed Greg manipulating the power supply from his own apartment and prohibiting Meralco from inspecting his main breaker unit. Despite his attempts at resolving the issue by sending an electrician to our unit, we believe the problem originates downstairs in Greg's apartment. We are seeking assistance from Meralco to investigate the main breaker system in Greg's apartment to confirm if any illicit activity is occurring. The persistent outages have become intolerable, and we are prepared to escalate the matter if necessary. We appreciate any prompt support to address this ongoing problem.

Dear Meralco Management,
I am writing to address the issue of electricity being provided to houses outside of our homeowners association using our line and transformer without approval from our association or homeowners. Our transformer is only meant to supply power to our homeowners' association, not to houses outside our community.
I am specifically referring to the electricity supply to Graceland and Tramo complex in San Francisco, Binan, Laguna, which have 9 meters connected outside our association. We request that this connection be removed to prevent damage to our transformer. We also would like to understand how this was approved without clearance from our homeowners.
Thank you.

Hello, good morning. I'd like to ask why our bill was so high last month in October. Our bill was [redacted] pesos, then this November, it's [redacted] pesos. We only have one TV, one induction stove, and two electric fans that we frequently use. We also use two lights regularly, and we only use the air conditioner occasionally. I'm wondering why our bill is significantly higher. I hope you can assist me with my inquiries. Thank you.

I have outstanding payments from September, October, and November. At Western Union, I paid for September and October using the wrong amount from October's bill, which is higher than November's bill. I showed them the correct November bill, but they advised me to go to Meralco's office to rectify the payment since the excess amount cannot be refunded and will be credited to my December bill. Should I visit Meralco's office, or will they automatically adjust the payment on my next bill?

Almost every day, our neighbor's electricity gets cut off due to illegal connections. Earlier today, amidst the ongoing election campaign, the power was cut off by the electric company once again. They have rigged a temporary solution by using a long PVC pipe to ground the line to the post. Their excessive electricity usage, including air conditioning and multiple boarders, poses a risk of overload and potential fire hazards to neighboring light homes like ours. The worry is real, especially since even the village council led by Chairman A.G. is aware of and benefits from this unauthorized setup. It is unfair that while we pay for our electricity usage legally, they are stealing power continuously. I urge the authorities to address this illegal activity promptly for the safety and security of my family and me. Please, refrain from sharing this publicly.

I am not sure how Meralco handles this kind of issue. I hope that they will remove the illegal connections by those jumpers who seem to be using electricity excessively and even using an electric drill loudly at night. Many neighbors are also tapping into those jumpers to power their air conditioners, which could potentially cause an overload and even a fire. Is it allowed for the barangay chairman and council to connect to these jumpers? Are people who connect these jumpers to the pole subject to imprisonment? They should also be taught a lesson. I hope you will take immediate action on my concern and treat it as confidential for my safety and my family's. I look forward to it. Thank you very much and more power to your company.

We are legitimate customers of Meralco, with meters and regular payments. We were upset by the visit from Meralco employees yesterday to check for jumpers or illegal connections. We strive to pay our bills while our neighbors illegally connect without repercussions, which is unfair. The address in question is [redacted] Kabulusan 1, Caloocan City, Brgy 24. We urge Meralco to address this issue promptly to ensure fair service for all customers.

Subject: Issue with Meralco Pole on Private Property
Regarding Request No. [redacted]4 about the relocation of distribution facilities and overhead facilities, on January 10, [redacted], we corresponded with Engr. Ryan C. Tinam-isan regarding a Meralco pole situated on our property at Rincon Rd. in Valenzuela City. We wish to emphasize that no prior notification or request was received regarding the installation of this pole.
After several attempts through phone calls and emails, we were directed to Engr. Mark Alvin D. Waje in March [redacted]. Despite numerous follow-ups, we only received a relocation charge letter in May [redacted] amounting to Php [redacted],[redacted].68, to which we strongly objected. Engr. Waje advised us to formalize our protest via email.
Despite persistent communication, the pole remains unremoved. We have highlighted that a neighboring pole erected by Converge has been swiftly removed after a single email and a few phone calls without any relocation charges proposed.
This Meralco pole is significantly inconveniencing our ongoing construction work, leading to additional costs and delays for over nine months. We urge your prompt attention to this issue and refrain from insisting on relocation charges.
This letter acts as our final demand for resolution. Kindly address this matter promptly to avoid legal escalation.
Sincerely,
Bernadette Tan

I have a complaint about an incident that happened back in [redacted] in our subdivision. I noticed some wires being dug up from a canal and the homeowner suddenly covered them. Three months later, I saw some Meralco personnel searching around, which made me think there might have been a jumper from the wires I saw. Keeping an eye out for things, in June [redacted], I noticed a plant box near the area where the wires were exposed leading towards the canal where I initially saw the wires in [redacted]. This makes me strongly believe that the wires are connected and lead inside the house. Currently, despite the cold weather, at 6:30 am, the air conditioner is still running continuously.

I am extremely frustrated with my high electricity bill. When you adjusted it because the lazy person who did the reading estimated it, we only consumed [redacted] kWh. But then, upon re-reading, it suddenly jumped to [redacted] kWh. I don't have a business that would require such a high consumption. Yes, I have an air conditioner and an inverter fridge, but even asking around, no one with more appliances than mine reaches [redacted] kWh. And now my bill is at 7k?

I am inquiring about a reconnection request for the address previously associated with Jose Demata, which has an outstanding debt of 48k. I, Bernardino Enriquez, the new applicant, am willing to settle this balance. The meter base has been installed and inspected. The Meralco employee in Cainta has confirmed the approval of our application. Do we need to provide the updated tax declaration, title, and deed of sale before making payment for the meter installation?

I'm writing to share a situation that occurred with my daughter last year in relation to her Meralco connection. She bought a condo unit at Avida Tower Sucat three years ago as an investment and had it rented out. Recently, her tenant notified us that the electricity was disconnected not by Meralco, but by the association. Upon investigating, we discovered it was due to delayed payment of the association dues. Despite regularly sending post-dated checks yearly, she missed payments due to her busy travel schedule. This was frustrating for my daughter as the tenant always paid on time, and she values professionalism. Can anyone legally disconnect electricity without consent and prior notice to the property owner, especially since Meralco is a public utility? If this violates my daughter's rights, we seek your assistance in addressing this issue with the association. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Jocelyn

In my previous bill, there are two amounts shown: the amount due is $1,[redacted].53 and the total amount due is $2,[redacted].21. The first amount seems to be based on the last meter reading, as per the computation on the back of the bill. However, the total amount due of $2,[redacted].21 doesn't have a clear explanation of how it was calculated. I assume this may be an estimated value for the following month due to the inability to conduct an actual meter reading because of Covid-19.
I believe the difference between the amounts should be adjusted in the next bill once an actual meter reading is performed. Upon checking my online account, I noticed that the additional amount from the previous bill was not subtracted in the current billing. I am seeking clarification from Meralco on this matter as the billing computation lacks transparency regarding the origin and purpose of the extra charges last month.

Good morning,
I would like to inform and request Technical Assistance regarding my electricity connection. Yesterday around 5pm, the power suddenly shut down in my entire house. In the past few days, my house lights have been frequently blinking once turned on. And yesterday, it just shut down abruptly.
I called our neighbor, an electrician, to check why I lost the power supply in the house. He inspected the power outlets and lines, but there was no power. He opened the main safety box, and everything seemed fine. Until he decided to shake the electric wire coming from the main post to the meter post, and that's where he found the problem. He mentioned that Meralco needs to fix the electric wire as there might be something that needs replacing or fixing that he couldn't touch because Meralco should be the one to do it.
If possible, I would like to request Technical Assistance to resolve my electricity connection issue.

Subject: Billing Inquiry for Service ID [redacted][redacted]
To the Meralco Billing Team,
I am writing to address a concerning issue regarding my current bill. Typically, our monthly bill ranges from [redacted] to [redacted] pesos. However, this recent bill covering the period from July 9 to September 8 seemed to have significantly increased without a clear explanation. I recall during the previous months of the enhanced community quarantine, I received a bill amounting to 6-7k which, at that time, I accepted without complaint assuming the surge in electricity usage due to everyone staying at home.
Now, comparing the recent bill of 6,[redacted].88 for 2 months to the previous 6-7k for 3 months raises questions. We have not added any new appliances, so it is unclear why there is such a substantial difference. Additionally, I heard reports of lower electricity rates, so I am puzzled by the sudden spike in our bill. I urge you to investigate this matter thoroughly and provide a valid explanation for the increase.
I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.
Thank you,
Fort B.
