Maier's Bakery Customer Service Issues

I recently purchased Maier Italian Bread from ShopRite in Newark, NJ on sale for $1.99. Upon reaching the last 4 slices, I found hard white flaky and chalk-like particles in between them. I suspected it was stale crumbs, but after close inspection, it seems like chipped white paint. I still have 2 slices and want to have it examined. I'm concerned about consuming any particles, as I only noticed them after eating 2 slices. I plan to see a doctor and want to know what the substance is. I can send the remaining slices for analysis. This discovery has me troubled and I hope for compensation.

As a loyal customer of Maier's for over 25 years, I have noticed a recent decline in the quality of the Premium Italian Bread. The slices now have more holes and lack the softness and freshness they used to have. I have purchased the bread from various stores, and the issue persists, indicating a change in production. My grandson, who loves soft fresh bread, finds the current quality unsatisfactory. I always ensure I select the freshest loaf available, so I am concerned about this change. I hope Maier's can address this matter promptly and restore the bread to its former high standards before losing a devoted customer like me.
