I am Terrell M. from Jefferson City. I have been a loyal subscriber to the KC Star for over 60 years, paying $[redacted].20 annually. However, for the past five years, I have only been receiving the paper three to four days a week. I have also experienced issues with receiving the St. Louis paper instead of the KC Star, even though I have no interest in it. I previously reached out to Julie Pendley, a Sar employee, and Dan Schuab, the Corporate Director of Audience Development at McClatchy parent company in Sacramento, CA, in [redacted] to address the delivery problems. While the situation improved temporarily, the irregular delivery continues. As a former employee at the Kansas City Star and with deep ties to the publication, having a consistent newspaper delivery is important to me. Compounded by the sporadic delivery, I believe the carrier owes me approximately $[redacted]. Although I am considering legal action, I would prefer to resolve this matter amicably without escalating to litigation.

As a loyal Star customer, I have noticed a decline in the consistency of my newspaper deliveries. They have become sporadic, especially on Sundays, and are often late after 9:00 a.m. or even after noon. My retired carrier used to deliver before 6:30 a.m. daily, setting a high standard for service reliability. I kindly request a more dependable carrier to address these ongoing delivery issues and appreciate any assistance you can provide to help resolve this matter effectively.

I am experiencing issues with my paper delivery. Since last Friday, I have only received one paper and have been reporting this daily via the recorded line. Today, once again, I did not receive my paper. I reside in a 4-plex where units share the same street address followed by a unit number. My address is [redacted] W. 152nd Terrace, Unit [redacted] and none of my neighbors are missing their paper. I fondly remember the previous carrier who threw my paper onto the garage door from the double driveway. Recently, due to wind, I found my paper across the street in the gutter. My subscription is valid until August, but I am dissatisfied and need this issue resolved promptly. I suspect there may be a new or substitute carrier causing the inconsistency. Thank you for addressing this matter.

I am experiencing ongoing issues with the KC Star. The news is consistently outdated, with reports sometimes arriving two or more days late. Despite subscribing to the Wall Street Journal through them, delivery of both papers has been unreliable for over a month. As of 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 1, [redacted], my paper still hasn't arrived. This lack of service has led to dissatisfaction, and it seems like the KC Star is not concerned with retaining subscribers. I am disappointed with the level of service provided and may not renew my subscription when it expires. -Jerry Smith

I reside at [redacted] NW High Point Drive, Lee's Summit, MO [redacted], and have been subscribed to 7-day/week home delivery. Unfortunately, the service quality has been consistently poor for the last 3 months. The paper either does not arrive or shows up after noon, which is highly unsatisfactory. I have contacted the delivery concern line multiple times to report the issue, but regrettably, there has been no improvement. Moreover, I find the paper's cost to be quite high, and now I am being billed for receiving a paper bill through mail. I suggest The Star deducting charges for the past 3 months of subpar service before considering requesting additional funds for paper bill mailings. I am contemplating canceling my long-standing subscription due to this ongoing problem. Must you lose a customer of more than 25 years? I am not inclined to switch to the digital edition. Once I discontinue this service, it will be definitive. Sadly, your newspaper will be losing a loyal customer.

I have a concern about my subscription to the Kansas City Star. I'm Terrell Martin from Jefferson City, and I've been a loyal subscriber for over 50 years. However, for the past five years, I've been experiencing irregular delivery. Despite paying nearly $1,[redacted] annually, I've had weeks without receiving any papers and often receive the St. Louis paper instead of the Kansas City Star, which doesn't interest me. My family has a deep history with the Kansas City Star, and I prefer reading the physical paper rather than digitally. I tried resolving this issue previously with Dan Schaub from McClatchy Company in Sacramento, but the problem persists. It's frustrating to pay for a service that is not being fulfilled.

My spouse and I subscribed to the KC Star for my 88-year-old mother, but she has only received the paper twice. She resides in an apartment complex in Excelsior Springs, MO. The carrier, Tim Baird, confessed to subcontracting a delivery person with mental health issues who refuses to bring the paper to the front door. I expect the paper to be delivered weekly to my mother's apartment door, not tossed in the driveway for her to search for. I need this situation rectified promptly. The address is [redacted] Tracy, Apartment [redacted], Excelsior Springs, MO [redacted]. Thank you.

I have not received my paper since August 19th. I have spoken to a few people over the phone about the delivery issue. It has been over a week since we last received the paper, and as my husband is unable to use a computer due to a recent stroke, we rely on the physical paper for reading in our comfortable chairs. We are in our 70's and prefer traditional methods. The TV guide is easy for my husband to comprehend even with the early stages of dementia. He looks forward to reading about sports every Sunday. Please address this promptly as it upsets him not having the paper. We have been loyal subscribers for a long time under Stephen or Greta Ferguson, residing at [redacted] S. Harbaugh Dr., Independence, Missouri [redacted]. Your assistance is greatly appreciated as seeing him upset is difficult for us. Thank you.

I did not receive the newspaper for the past two days, Monday and Tuesday. This has been a recurring issue this year and in the past. In Sunday's paper, there was a note from the delivery person, Steve Collier, to call [redacted], but when I called, the mailbox was full. I have tried calling [redacted] before, but due to a language barrier, I couldn't understand the representative. It's frustrating that local inquiries are outsourced to a foreign call center that cannot assist with missing papers. It would be helpful to have a local number to speak to a person directly. I now have to make another trip to the store to purchase a copy of the paper.

I recently tried to renew my father's 13-week subscription and was surprised to see the price jump from $[redacted].93 to $[redacted].20 for the next 13 weeks. I am shocked by this steep increase and feel it is unfair, especially considering my father's loyalty to this publication over the years. Trying to justify the hike by including the E-edition is not acceptable since he cannot utilize it. It's disheartening to see long-time customers being taken advantage of in this manner, especially when they are seniors.

Recently, a 16-year-old exemplary young black high school student was reportedly shot twice, including once in the head, for allegedly ringing a doorbell at the wrong address. Bleeding from serious wounds, he sought help from three nearby residents by calling [redacted], but was ignored. The names and addresses of these individuals need to be shared to hold them accountable. The lack of coverage on this issue is concerning, and newspapers should highlight the importance of Good Samaritan standards. It is crucial to condemn these acts of bigotry and indifference publicly. Thank you. - Joe Q Public
