Last year, we created an account for my father to apply for financial aid, and everything went smoothly. This year, both my father and I attempted to reapply, but we encountered an issue at the final step requiring his signature. Unfortunately, my father no longer has access to his email or phone number, and he cannot recall his information. When I try to answer the security questions, I am unable to proceed. I am seeking assistance in retrieving my father's username or his previous email address linked to his account through alternative methods beyond the website's provided options. We have exhausted all our resources and are still unable to resolve the situation. Your guidance on the necessary steps would be greatly appreciated as I greatly rely on this aid for the current semester. Thank you.

In [redacted] and [redacted], our daughter successfully applied for FAFSA financial aid without any issues. However, this year we encountered a problem. When she was about to submit her information on the FAFSA site, it requested my e-signature, which she could provide, but then unexpectedly asked for my wife's e-signature and details, although my wife has never been registered with FAFSA, only I have been along with our daughter. Why is FAFSA now requesting my wife's information when this was not the case previously? Interestingly, a few days ago, we received the usual notification from the IRS regarding access to the IRS data retrieval through FAFSA.gov, just like in previous years. Given this, could you kindly confirm if this year's financial aid application was successfully processed? Thank you for your assistance. Jorge A.

I received an email informing me that my account was locked and providing a link to unlock it. I followed the prompts, providing my gas F.A. ID and password. After that, I was asked for my birthday and given the option of receiving a code via email to a unknown Gmail account or answering security questions. Despite answering the security questions correctly, the system kept rejecting them. I am confused as to why they would email me at the same address to unlock the account but then send the code to a Gmail I don't recognize. The correct email to use is [redacted], not a Gmail account. If there is a solution to this issue, please reach out to me at the Yahoo email provided or call me at [redacted]. Thank you, Jason H.

Hello, seeking advice here. Yesterday, when making a purchase, my bank card was unexpectedly declined despite having sufficient funds. Upon checking my online banking at home, I discovered Natwest had merged my three accounts - two regular and one student account - without notifying me via email, text, or phone call. I am unsure if this is permissible since each account served different purposes. Having recently completed university with an overdraft needing repayment, consolidating them into my student account renders my debit card, utilized for expenses and income, unusable. I am contemplating seeking compensation or exploring other options as I am troubled by Natwest making alterations to my accounts without consent. Thank you. - J.

I need to withdraw from a class due to illness. Will this impact my financial aid (FAFSA)? I've been dealing with a severe medical condition, leading to multiple ER visits and doctor appointments during the course. Despite providing a doctor's note and requesting an extension until March, my instructor only granted me until March 19th to complete the class. Unfortunately, with my condition, meeting the video submission requirements is impossible as I've been on bed rest for 8 weeks. Your support is appreciated.

I am struggling to remember my username and password, as I filled out this information back in high school. Now that I am 30 years old, it is challenging to recall. My parents are not aware of my educational status, and I am unsure if they even care. I am determined to attend college, but my financial situation is tight, and I cannot afford community college tuition. The FSA login details are the only barrier preventing me from applying for a grant that could assist me. I am on my own in this journey, as I do not have family support to rely on. If I had help, I would have pursued this opportunity much earlier.

I encountered a problem while trying to log into my FAFSA account to complete it. Despite ensuring my username and password were correct and even switching devices, the system kept sending me back to the beginning as though I hadn't filled anything out. Upon attempting to redo the form, an error message popped up after inputting my high school information, stating there was an issue with my FAFSA that day. I have reached out via email for assistance but have yet to receive a response. I am eager to complete my application before the deadline and would appreciate any guidance on resolving this technical issue. Thank you.

I have a past due student loan from when I had to drop out of a university due to illness, making it impossible for me to return. The loans were taken out between [redacted] and [redacted]-15 and currently amount to $17,[redacted]. I can afford to pay $[redacted] per month now and am eager to start repaying the loan. Please reach out to me at [redacted] or [redacted] The student in question is Carl W. Stemm of [redacted] Greenapple Lane, Jerseyville, IL [redacted]. The loans were used at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks for a major in drone and airplane piloting. Unfortunately, my illness - recurring migraines - led to the grounding of my pilot's license due to medication restrictions. This has caused significant hardship, including the inability to work consistently and depression. I have now secured a job, transportation, and housing.

Hello, I am encountering difficulties with my FAFSA application. Accessing my account has led to a roadblock when attempting to submit my parents' tax information. This issue persisted from last year, causing me to halt my efforts. When I try to link the IRS tax data and log into my mother's account, the system indicates there is no account under her information. Yet, upon trying to create a new account for her, it states she already has one, offering access through security questions, email, or username input. Unfortunately, the system then denies her account's existence. I had set up an account for her during last year's failed attempt, and though I have the login details written down, I struggle to recall them. Despite multiple troubleshooting attempts and reset efforts on the account, I remain unsuccessful. Moreover, I am currently locked out of my account due to mismatched information in the system, rendering me unable to access it even with security details. Is there a way to reset my account to commence a fresh application? Thank you! - K.C.

My FAFSA indicates that it has not been updated and shows I am not eligible for aid due to an error that lists me as a dependent when I am actually an independent student. I can provide my mother's death certificate from [redacted] to support my independent status and demonstrate my financial situation. It seems there was an error in the aid determination due to my incorrect classification as a dependent. During a previous call, I was advised to manually update my status on an application as it cannot be changed online. I was informed that the necessary documents would be sent to me, but I have not received them yet. This delay is affecting my financial clearance for school, and I need to be financially cleared by September 2 when I am due to arrive. I am looking forward to your prompt response and hope this matter can be resolved quickly and efficiently.

Hello, I have a question about financial aid for my education. I understand that FAFSA typically supports undergraduate students for 4-6 years to complete their bachelor's degree. Despite already having obtained my bachelor's degree, I was only assisted for 2 years due to unique circumstances. I attended an Early College program instead of a traditional high school, where I earned my associate's degree before graduating. The stringent requirements of the program covered the cost of the associates at a community college. After completing my bachelor's degree in just two years at a university, I am now 20 years old and curious if there might be an exception for me to apply for FAFSA assistance for a master's degree. While I acknowledge FAFSA is typically for undergraduates, given my unconventional educational path, I seek clarity on whether I could potentially qualify for an additional 2 years of aid as if still pursuing my bachelor's.

As a student, I completed my section of the application and later had my father fill out what appeared to be the "parent" section. He submitted the form under the impression that all necessary information was provided as I had already completed my part. Upon further investigation, I realized that I should have actually used my mother's information since I reside with her for more than 50% of the time. My main query now is, how should I proceed if the application I submitted contains incorrect information?

Hello, I am a student who needs help with linking my FSA ID to my mom's FAFSA form. My mom has been filling out the form on my behalf, but when I try to sign the form using my FSA ID through her account, I receive an error message saying the information does not match. I have reset my FSA ID through her account multiple times, but the issue persists. Additionally, none of the information she entered on her account shows up on mine. How can we successfully link our accounts? Thank you.

I am encountering an error while trying to complete my FAFSA application. The message indicates an issue with Parent 1's Social Security Number being all zeroes and Parent 2's SSN being blank or showing all zeroes. Additionally, it mentions that the parents' tax return status is filed or will file, and the tax return type is not foreign. Despite numerous attempts, we have been unable to resolve this problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently facing challenges with my FAFSA as I transitioned from living with my father in New Jersey to my mother in Texas. I am unsure whose tax information to use as my mom did not claim me on her [redacted] taxes and I had limited time living with her that year. Additionally, given my transient living situation between Texas and New Jersey, my dad consistently claims me on his taxes. Despite trying to update my FAFSA for the upcoming semester, Proverify has been requesting amendments to my mom's tax filing, even though she qualifies for filing as head of household due to her remarriage. They also requested information from her husband who does not share income or live with us. I am concerned about missing another semester's deadline due to these challenges. I would appreciate guidance on how to proceed as I am eager to continue my education without further interruptions.

I recently enrolled in a career college, attending for less than a week. The school stated in orientation that students have a one-week window to cancel without penalties. However, when I decided to leave due to a family emergency and unprofessionalism at the school, they mentioned loan obligations. I still left because of these reasons. I hope to avoid paying back the full loan amount, considering my short attendance. I would appreciate if this can be resolved with little or no payment. Thank you for understanding my situation and I hope we can find a solution together.

My son is currently enrolled at a community college and plans to transfer to a four-year university out of state in January. I'm unsure about modifying his FAFSA for 2[redacted] to accommodate this change and would appreciate guidance on the process once we finalize the university choice. Additionally, we were not selected for verification last year, but we are this year. I understand the new school handles this and might request tax information. Could you please advise on the general documents they typically require? His name is Seth Matthysse with a DRN #[redacted].

I submitted the FAFSA with my husband back in late [redacted] for our son, who started his Freshman year in fall [redacted]. Due to some circumstances, including a gap year, he's now applying for financial aid for online college. Unfortunately, our documents, including our FAFSA login information, are in storage. The online college needs our FAFSA details since our son is only 22. I'm reaching out for assistance. Thank you, B. Prado.

I am facing difficulties registering my account at the school my FAFSA was sent to. I encountered an error message stating, "Your record either could not be found or does not match what is in the system. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for additional assistance. Error code [redacted]." I require urgent help to resolve this issue promptly and advance to the next step in my request process. I have ensured that I input all the correct information, so I am unsure why this error is occurring.

My mother is starting her second quarter at a college in Seattle. Initially, she was fully funded but now she is not. Consequently, she is applying for aid for the Spring quarter through FAFSA. Although she is a US citizen, she did not attend high school in the United States. When she completes the student FAFSA form, it prompts her to indicate where she attended high school, but the options provided are only for schools in the US. Should she fill out a different type of FAFSA? Will her attendance at a high school in a different country pose an issue?
